70000 Tons Of Metal Confirms First Bands For 2024
The organisers of the the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise have announced the first five bands for next year's edition of the floating festival. Already booked for the 12th edition of the event are Epica, Unleashed, Draconian, Equilibrium and Brazilian power metal veterans Angra, who will be recording a new live release on board.
70000 Tons Of Metal 2024 is scheduled to set sail from Miami, Florida on January 29th and will head to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, before returning to port on February 2nd.

Equilibrium Unveils New Music Video
Equilibrium have come a long way since the release of their debut album "Turis Fratyr" in 2005, which became a milestone in the pagan metal world of the new century.
Whilst waiting for their long sold out sophomore album "Sagas" to finally be re-released on vinyl on November 12th, the band now takes us even further back into their past, having invited musicians, friends, tv stars and youtubers to join them in this new interpretation of their legendary hit "Met" - a track which never fails to make fans raise their glasses to the stage and sing along. With keyboards, violin, accordion, traverse flute and many spectacular guest solos, this is a perfect celebration for the band's 20th anniversary. So watch Equilibrium and guests, such as members from Saltatio Mortis, Solstafir, Lord Of The Lost and Primordial, come together for this uplifting as well as hilarious version of an evergreen.
Guitarist and founding member René Berthiaume comments:
"I still remember how I sat in my bedroom in front of the computer, with a couple of mead bottles next to me. We wrote this simple first song for our first show but we would have never expected that this would have made such an impact on the underground scene. It was very fun to dig out this track and create a special version with many friends we have met (pun intended) during our journey."

Equilibrium Reveals New Album Release Date
Today, German epic metal pioneers Equilibrium are pleased to announce their upcoming 6th studio album, "Renegades." The album will be released on August 16th 2019 via Nuclear Blast.
"Renegades" was recorded and produced throughout the period of September 2018 until March 2019 by the band and Swedish producer Robin Leijon. It is the first Equilibrium album to feature Skar with his clean vocals and Skadi Rosehurst on synths.
Mastermind René Berthiaume states:
"We can't wait to return with new music after 3 years! Musically as well as lyrically Renegades has definitely become our most uncompromising and personal album to date. We are especially proud of the introduction of our new members: Skadi has been one of the driving forces behind Equilibrium for many years now. She has mainly been responsible for artwork, designs, musical and lyrical input and will now support us live on the synths in a few months’ time. Skar, on the other hand, has become a completely new part of the Equilibrium family.
"Some of you might already know him from his work on YouTube as SkarProductions. On the current album he gave us outstanding additional (clean) vocals as well as bass tracks - the logical consequence was that he joined us permanently. So there's a lot going on with us right now. At the same time we want to say a big thank you to Makki who smashed the bass live for us during the past 2.5 years. You rock! We love to develop further; standing still would be our inner death. So you can be curious about what's coming!"

Eight More Bands Confirmed For Graspop 2019
The organisers of Belgium's biggest metal festival, Graspop Metal Meeting, has announced a further eight bands for next year's event. Newly announced headliners Kiss will be performing their final show in Belgium at the festival, as will thrash metal icons Slayer, where they will also be joined by Slash & Myles Kennedy, Cradle Of Filth, Lamb Of God, Anthrax, Death Angel and Skalmold. The festival will take place in the town of Dessel from June 21 - 23.

Graspop Announces First Batch Of Bands
The organisers of Belgium's premier metal festival Graspop Metal Meeting have announced the first fifty names for next year's edition of the event. Headlining the Friday night will be Dutch symphonic metal outfit Within Temptation, while capping off Saturday will be Iowa nine piece, Slipknot. Also performing at the festival will be Def Leppard, Whitesnake, King Diamond, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Amon Amarth, Carcass, Testament and many more. You can see the initial lineup below. The running order for MetalDays’ 2017 edition has been published today on the festival’s official website. Do you want to know when your favorite bands will be playing there and how to prepare yourself best for the party season?

Equilibrium Posts Asian Tour Diary
German epic metal band Equilibrium released current studio album "Armageddon" last year on August 12th, 2016 through Nuclear Blast. Once more, the band entered the European charts on high positions (#5 Germany, #11 Switzerland, #20 Austria).
Equilibrium and support act Suidakra subsequently went on a tour journey to Asia, and even though most of the band's lyrics are in German, Equilbirum succeeded in enthusing hundreds of fans and to provide a remarkabe atmosphere in several cities of China (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong), Taiwan (Taipei) and Japan (Tokyo and Osaka).

Equilibrium Will "Rise Again" On New Video Clip
German symphonic folk/viking metal act Equilibrium issued a new video clip for the song "Rise Again." The song is taken from the latest album "Armageddon," which was released back in August via Nuclear Blast Records.
The video clip was created by Makki and the footage was filmed during several shows of Equilibrium's "Armageddon Tour" in October 2016. Check out the clip here:

Equilibrium Releases "Eternal Destination" Video
German epic metal pioneers, Equilibrium, will set aflame a brand new bonfire this summer with their fifth studio album. Guitarist, composer and lyricist René Berthiaume spent almost two years working on this new opus called "Armageddon." The result is rather dark, while retaining the bombast and folk elements of the previous records.
Today, the band have released the official video for the brand new track "Eternal Destination," which you can see in the player below.
The band states: "The repertoire of Equilibrium is full of different songs; happy songs as well as dark songs. For us there are more colours than just black and white. We don't care about any genre boundaries, we just do what we feel like. ‘Eternal Destination’ is our first music video for one of our dark songs and we love the result, Grupa13 did an amazing job! There is also once again a guest appearance of Robse’s daughter. This video expresses exactly the emotions I've had when I wrote this song. We need the earth, but the earth doesn't need us..."

Equilibrium Recruits New Bassist
German epic metal band Equilibrium is very pleased to officially announce the recruitment of new bass player Makki. The group comments:
"This time, we decided to take our time to pick a new member. We could've come up with the idea to hire Makki as our new bass player much earlier, since he has been on the road with us as our tour manager for many years and has already toured the world on his own. He has always been a part of the family and now we are happy to welcome him on stage with us!"
Makki himself added: "July 2004: After a show, I'm buying this CD named ‘Demo 2003’ from our opening act 'EQUILI...what?', to support that rising underground act... and BAM! Twelve years later I am standing on stage together with Equilibrium. I am very grateful for the long friendship with the EQUI-family and I can't wait for the upcoming adventures and shows together with the best fans in the world! See you on the next gig..."

UMC Begins Announcement Barrage For 70K 2017

Equilibrium Announces New Album
The German epic metal pioneers from Equilibirum will set aflame a brand new bonfire this summer with their fifth studio album.
Guitarist, composer and lyricist René Berthiaume spent almost two years working on this new opus called "Armageddon." The result is rather dark, yet remains the bombast and folk elements of the previous records.
This time, the album was recorded, mixed, and produced by René himself and was mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Los Angeles). The cover artwork was again created by Skadi Rosehurst.
René states: "Once more, Skadi created a wonderful piece of art, which captures the more darker atmosphere of 'Armageddon' perfectly. As on the album, you can discover a lot of details in the artwork as well. Skadi's style - traditionally drawn motifs become one overall picture digitally - fits marvellously to our music. Again and again, it's an exciting feeling if the music becomes even more concrete and livelier by the artwork."
New album "Armageddon" will be released on August 12th, 2016 via Nuclear Blast Records.
