New Dark New Day Guitarist Checks In

Dark New Day's new guitarist Bradley "BC" Kochmit has posted the following statement:

"First and foremost, I just want to let everyone know how honored I am to be the new guitar player for DARK NEW DAY. I have so much respect for every member of this band (past and present) that it's very difficult to describe, but if I had to sum it all up in one word ... that word would be 'family.'

"All you DARK NEW DAY fans out there that don't know me can rest assured that I will do my damnedest to make this band every bit as amazing and ass-kicking as it was before I came into the picture. Those of you that DO know me and know what I'm all about are gonna be like a little kid on Christmas morning, for damn sure!"

Clint Lowery Speaks On Returning To Sevendust

Recently rejoined Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery (also of Dark New Day and ex touring guitarist for Korn), has issued the following statement regarding his return to Sevendust:

"As most of you know I have rejoined with my bros. in Sevendust. I’m beyond excited about sharing the stage with them and being apart of their world again. First things first, Sonny (Mayo) did an unreal job with the guys and I’m sure I will share some of the pressures of filling his shoes as he did so sucessfully filling mine and then some. I respect Sonny and love him and wish him the best because I have no doubt he will continue success in whatever he does.

"I won’t get into how this all came about, I will only speak for myself. For me this is a great chance to play with a band I owe my career to and went through everything with for many years good and bad. When you spend that amount of time in a band you form a bond that’s not easily broken. Time has past and I believe nothing in God's world happens by mistake.

"I’d like to address the fans of both Sevendust and Dark New Day. You have all truly been so amazing and really make me remember why I do this. For some this will be hard to understand. All I can say is that I will do my best to be a solid member of Sevendust and give you back what you give to any of us who play music. My brother (Corey Lowery) dreamt up what would eventually become Dark New Day. We wanted to play together and to do that with Troy, Brett and Will was a dream come true. I truly believe that we did what we set out to do and that was simply to make music together. Corey and I will always continue to make music together. I wish all the guys the best and love them more than words can say. And I pray that the record we did will see the light of day especially for the people who waited so patiently.

"Being back in Sevendust is truly a very exciting time for me and I feel like it will be a very positive thing. I love the records they did while I was gone and actually look forward to playing those songs more than the ones I did with them. I look forward to writing new music with them. But for now I want to do my part in supporting the incredible music they’ve created and just be the guitar player. Sevendust is way bigger than any one person, it has a supporting fan base that's rabid and I love all of you because I have been one of you for the past few years. Just another person who loved Sevendust from the outside. Now I’m back in and I promise I will bust my ass to do the job Sevendust deserves.

"God Bless everyone and see ya on tour!
Clint Lowery"

Clint Lowery Rejoins Sevendust

SEVENDUST has announced the return of original guitar player Clint Lowery to the band.

Lowery was with Sevendust when they formed in 1995 and signed to TVT Records in 1997. Lowery was a key member of the Sevendust attack throughout the their TVT years which saw the band release "Sevendust" (1997), "Home" (1999), "Animosity" (2001), "Seasons" (2003) and "Southside Double Wide" (2003).

After leaving TVT in 2003 the band and Lowery mutually parted ways, with Lowery moving on to join his brother in the band DARK NEW DAY. Sevendust brought in former SNOT guitar player Sonny Mayo to replace Lowery and went on to release three full length albums. Next (2004) on the now defunct Winedark Records, Alpha (2007) on 7Bros. Records, Sevendust's wholly owned label through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group and "Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow," which comes out April 1st on 7Bros/Asylum.

Sevendust statements on Lowery's return: "This was extremely tough considering Sonny is our brother and has been amazing to work with. He didn't do anything wrong at all, we just owe it to ourselves and all the folks that grew up with us to put our original band back together. Clint has always been our brother and Sonny will always remain our brother as well. We are sorry to say goodbye to Sonny and I'm sure this will be tough on the fans that follow him, but we're excited about reuniting the original lineup of Sevendust." - Morgan Rose, Drums

"Everything happens for a reason. Sonny is an incredible person and we thank him for everything. Just like when you leave home, you come back! Hopefully everyone will understand the decision we have made. God bless you all. Welcome home Clint Lowery." - LaJon Witherspoon, Vocals

Sevendust's new record, "Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow," is out on Tuesday, April 1st. The album was produced by Shawn Grove, Morgan Rose & John Connolly in Atlanta, GA at Tree Sounds Studios.

The album features guest appearances from vocalist CHRIS DAUGHTRY, as well as Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy from ALTER BRIDGE. The band will be hitting the road in April in support of "Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow."

Dark New Day Post New Song Online

DARK NEW DAY — the band featuring Clint Lowery (guitar; ex-KORN touring member, SEVENDUST) Troy McLawhorn (guitar; EVANESCENCE, ex-DOUBLE DRIVE), Clint's brother Corey Lowery (bass; ex-STEREOMUD, STUCK MOJO) Brett Hestla (vocals; ex-CREED, VIRGOS MERLOT) and Will Hunt (drums; EVANESCENCE, ex-SKRAPE, TOMMY LEE) — has posted a new song, entitled "Goodbye", on the group's MySpace page. The track is set to appear on DARK NEW DAY's long-awaited second album, due later in the year.

In other news, DARK NEW DAY drummer Will Hunt has shot down reports that the group has called it quits following an apparent disagreement with the band's record label, Warner Bros., over the new album's release. "We are not broken up!" he writes on the band's MySpace blog. "DARK NEW DAY will continue as long as we want it too, and as long as people like you share the passion of this music we make! Thank you all again so much for the love! Good things coming very soon, stay tuned." More...

Dark New Day Calls It Quits?

Dark new Day, the band featuring Clint Lowery (guitar; ex-KORN touring member, SEVENDUST) Troy McLawhorn (guitar; EVANESCENCE, ex-DOUBLE DRIVE), Clint's brother Corey Lowery (bass; ex-STEREOMUD, STUCK MOJO) Brett Hestla (vocals; ex-CREED, VIRGOS MERLOT) and Will Hunt (drums; EVANESCENCE, ex-SKRAPE, TOMMY LEE) has called it quits according to a blog posted (which is now deleted from their MySpace) by drummer Will Hunt. The end of the band is apparently due to their label, Warner Bros., not being able to make a timely decision on the band and the release of their new studio album.

The band completed their second album in December and had been reportedly "working on a release date" in January.

In May last year Evanescence "borrowed" drummer Will Hunt and guitarist Troy McLawhorn to tour with them. Vocalist Clint Lowery also did a stint as a touring guitarist with Korn later in the year.

Dark New Day Issue Update

DARK NEW DAY, which features former members of CREED, SKRAPE, SEVENDUST, DOUBLEDRIVE, STEREOMUD and STUCK MOJO, have issued the following update:

"Just want to let everyone know we're working on a release date. We're still getting a few things organized (artwork, band pics, singles, remixes, etc). We get a little frustrated with the process too believe me. It'd be different if we had put out a record a year ago or for the matter two years ago. We do realize that it's frustrating for all of you who have been so patient with us. We're doing everything we can to speed this up. We want more than anything to get this damn thing out and we're real close. We want to wait til all the artwork's done to redo our MySpace page and official dnd site. We want it to be right. The second we get a release date we'll stream some new video stuff and put up a new song for all that have been waiting. We've been through alot to get to this point so if it takes just a bit longer to do it right then why not. Thanks so much for your support!"

Dark New Day Guitarist Speaks On New Album

DARK NEW DAY/ex-SEVENDUST guitarist Clint Lowery, who has spent most of this year fulfilling his touring duties with KORN, has issued the following update:

"Well, it's time for another update on the new DARK NEW DAY record. It's coming out great. Troy [McLawhorn, guitar; EVANESCENCE, ex-DOUBLE DRIVE] and Corey [Clint's brother Corey Lowery, bass; ex-STEREOMUD, STUCK MOJO] finished their guitar and bass and it sounds unreal. Brett's [Hestla, vocals; ex-CREED, VIRGOS MERLOT] in the middle of doing vocals right now. He's done a few so far a damn he's singing his ass off. After he's done, we'll do backing vocals and then the mixing process will start.

"Dave Bendeth [producer] is pulling out some incredible stuff from us. I think it's gonna really turn out amazing.

"Some songtitles so far: 'Simple', 'Hail Mary', 'Fiend', 'Outside', 'Vicious Thinking'.

"I'm truly proud of this band and all we've been through.

"I'm still out with KORN and the shows are going great.

"Record will be out early next year."

"I'm so excited about going into the studio with the [DARK NEW DAY] guys. I'm having fun on the KORN tour but my heart is with DARK NEW DAY. The songs you hear on [the DARK NEW DAY MySpace page] that are new are demos we've done. The actual songs well do in September will be amazing. Some of the demo songs you've heard may show up on the record but it's gonna be an amazing record. [Producer] Dave Bendeth is gonna pull out stuff from us we didn't know existed. Korn Touring Guitarist Comments On Arrest

KORN touring guitarist Clint Lowery was arrested on Thursday (July 5) at the Hodokvas Festival in Piestany, Slovakia after a "wild, drunken night" at the event, which ended with the guitarist trashing his room. Lowery was released the following afternoon from police custody after apologizing and paying for the damages.

Commeted Lowery: "I'll just say that I was in the wrong place to pull anything out of the norm. I've heard a lot of different things about what happen. I'll just say that it was the end of the tour and I was being a lil' rowdy and loud in my hotel. I guess the redneck came out a bit. It was a great tour but long and I pulled some Rock 101 stuff. Not proud of it at all. Cops were called and they took me away. It was scary enough to where it's safe to say I won't be doing that EVER again. I truly regret it. But was what it was. There's been a lot of crazy things added on to it but that's basically what happened. The KORN camp is very laid back and had nothing to do with my actions. I guess it was the 4th of July and I was representing. No, seriously, I'm lucky it wasn't worse and I'm thankful I'm back home safe. I love all of you and just know that will not be repeated and it was a very dumb thing to do. I can't beat myself up over it' I'm human and I just have to pick myself up and keep on going. The KORN tour was amazing, though. I enjoyed it very much and the people over there were great."

Lowery is the second replacement for original KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch, who left the band two years ago to devote his life to Christianity.

Lowery made his debut with KORN on March 1, 2007 when the band made its first appearance ever on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno".

Lowery's band DARK NEW DAY released its debut album, "Twelve Year Silence", in June of 2005. The disc featured the single "Brother".

Korn Session Guitarist Arrested

Lowery, previously a member of SEVENDUST, is currently touring with KORN in Europe as the band's backing/session guitarist — a position he has held around four months after replacing ex-OTEP member Rob Patterson.

Dark New Day To Release New Demos

DARK NEW DAY has hit out in an attempt to quell fears that they are breaking up. Guitarist Clint Lowery has issued the following calming update:

“Dear dark new day friends. As you may of heard Will and Troy are going out with Evanesance. And you’ve heard I’m going out with Korn this year. I’m here to say DnD will live on. We recorded some great material recently with David Bendeth (Breaking Beanjamin, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Clutch) and I just met with my A&R guy at our label, Warner Bros. All of us are gonna be off in Sept after family values and we will record our record them. The great thing is I’ll be out there with Troy and Will and we can continue writing with them for the new record. It’s been a hard year for us as being out of the scene soo long. But I promise all of you we will make a slamming record and it should be out in March of next year. It’s a great opprtunity for Troy, will and myself to be out there playing and taking care of our familys. Music is all we know and sitting home until Sept would be hard. Brett is busy producing and Coreys writing songs and producing alot of bands. We have to survive and to I was really sad but excited to have to be the only one leaving to tour with Korn but now it’s gonna be better cuz we can be on the rode together and write and Brett and Corey will be writing so we can keep trying to top what I already feel is a strong record. Ya’ll been so patient and supportive but we will make this record. I’m just glad we’ll all be off at the same time. WE LOVE YOU and we’ll post songs that we’ve demoed to give you new music. “Fist from the Sky” was just a demo we did. We’ll try to put at least 5 on there over the next few weeks.”

Ex-Sevendust Guitarist Comments On Playing w/ Korn

Former SEVENDUST/current DARK NEW DAY guitarist Clint Lowery has commented on his decision to replace Rob Patterson as KORN's new touring/backup axeman.

Lowery is the second replacement for original KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch, who left the band two years ago to devote his life to Christianity.

Lowery made his debut with KORN last Thursday (March 1) when the band made its first appearance ever on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno".

Said Lowery: "As some of you know I appeared with KORN on the 'Jay Leno' show.

"Anyway, I got a call from Munky [KORN guitarist James 'Munky' Shaffer] back in January asking if I would be interested in touring with them this year.

"First off, I've been a huge fan of his and the rest of those guys for along time and to be asked to be involved with them in any capacity is a huge honor. I will be touring with them this year but the new DARK NEW DAY record will be completed before I leave out with the KORN camp. My band has been very supportive about this and I love them for that.

"DARK NEW DAY will be recording over the next few months and it's gonna be a great record.

"I am very excited about sharing the stage with KORN. Their live show is crazy and I look forward to trying my best to add to what already is an amazing show.

"So to all you musicians that come from nothing always remember that it doesn't matter where your from anythings possible 'cause I'm from the middle of nowhere and I thank God every day for the chance to play along side of some great musicians (DARK NEW DAY, SEVENDUST, KORN). Cinderella story for sure. Again, please know that DARK NEW DAY's still on track and please come support the KORN shows I'm thankful to play."

DARK NEW DAY released its debut album, "Twelve Year Silence", in June of 2005. The disc featured the single "Brother".

In addition to Clint and Corey Lowery, who played in SEVENDUST and STEREOMUD respectively, the group features former members of DOUBLEDRIVE, SKRAPE and CREED.
