Disturbed

Formed: 1998
From: Chicago, IL, United States
Last Known Status: Active

Background

Disturbed is made up of members Dan Donegan (Guitar), Mike Wengren(Drums), Fuzz(bass), and David Draiman(vocals). The band started by playing clubs on the south side of Chicago. One short demo tape later and Disturbed was well on it's way.

The beginning was short, before long they were sharing the stage with hometown heroes, Ministry. Disturbed has since played acts such as the Ozzfest, and scored the theme music to WWF superstar 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.

Disturbed's brute force is unquestionable, yet there's a murderous intelligence at work behind such songs as "Down With the Sickness" that will make the most jaded, veteran head-banger cast a wary, nervous gaze in their direction.

Skindred Singer Benji Webbe Checks In

Benji Webbe, lead singer of Welsh ragga metal band Skindred has checked in from the road with the following update:

"Well we waited for an opportunity to return to the USA as we haven’t toured in America since we did the American Rampage tour in 2007 when Roots Rock Riot first was released, and this past Disturbed tour was well worth the wait. Arena tours are always an incredible experience as we have been a band that plays in punk rock sweaty clubs all over the world but opening up for Disturbed at these sold out massive venues has been amazing.

"From the start of the tour all the guys in Disturbed and their crew were so good to us, there wasn't a bad egg among them, we all got along splendid and it was great to see this team all pulling n the same direction for the one vision: and that was to ROCK!

"David, Dan, Mike and John all were great to us, no matter what you think of this band I know from first hand they are gentlemen, I dug the band before but now the level of respect for them has gone up 100%. Some bands who are not half the size of Disturbed treat the support acts like shit, but there was none of that crap on this tour at all.

"We played some 27 dates on the tour, from the first night in Milwaukee to the last in Scranton.
Every night we made new fans and entertained old ones, after performing the shows we all would go down and meet people and hang at the merchandise stand, I know that we love meeting people and answering peoples questions, like Are you from Jamaica ? and I love 7 Dust “Hay LJ what’s it like to have Clint back in the band?” Standing there with a complete strangers arm around you whilst their mate attempts 5 times to take a picture with a shitty camera phone, your jaw starts to ache from holding the same pose, while they struggle with their horrible Motor roller razor to take our photograph! The American crowds love to rock and so do we. I just really hope we get back to the states soon and play club venues of every town we played at because we all had such a rocking time and we are itching to get back and do a full set instead of the 30 minute opening slot, it just was not enough time. Crooked X Added To Music As A Weapon Tour

Oklahoma's hard rock quartet, Crooked X will play on the second stage at Disturbed's Music As A Weapon IV Tour-a music, tattoo, and lifestyle festival-presented by Samsung Mobile and powered by Sprint. Crooked X will rock The Ernie Ball Second Stage, which will be officially sponsored by multi-city battle of the bands organization Headbang For the Highway, a 38-city, nine-week trek, which kicks off March 20th in Madison, WI. "I would go to this show even if we weren't playing. These are some of our favorite bands. What a great opportunity," says Jesse Cooper, lead guitarist. "I'm so stoked to go on the Music As A Weapon Tour. I'm excited to see Killswitch Engage and Suicide Silence. It's gonna be an experience for sure," adds Forrest French, lead vocals.

Recently, the 15-year-old shredders appeared on their own mini MTV rockumentary, "Rock N Roll Dream," which documented their real-life Cinderella story about four young boys catapulting from a Coweta, OK (population 7,000) garage band to opening for KISS in front of 35,000 screaming fans in Stockholm, Sweden. These events led to CX signing with EMI via McGhee Proffer Media (MPM) in August of 2008, all this within the span of nine months.

Their self-titled 10-song debut for EMI (in stores now), was helmed by hit producers Spencer Proffer (Tina Turner, Quiet Riot, WASP) and Michael Wagener (Metallica, Ozzy, Poison). Standout tracks on the new album include "Gone," "Time Is Now," "You Gotta Bleed," and "Adrenaline." The track "Nightmare," was featured in the successful Rock Band video game while "Gone" and "Rock N Roll Dream" are available as downloadable content for the game. The success of their debut landed them their first national late night TV appearance on ABC's JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE, where they showcased new single "Gone" in addition to fan favorite "Rock N Roll Dream."
