Disturbed is made up of members Dan Donegan (Guitar), Mike Wengren(Drums), Fuzz(bass), and David Draiman(vocals). The band started by playing clubs on the south side of Chicago. One short demo tape later and Disturbed was well on it's way.
The beginning was short, before long they were sharing the stage with hometown heroes, Ministry. Disturbed has since played acts such as the Ozzfest, and scored the theme music to WWF superstar 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.
Disturbed's brute force is unquestionable, yet there's a murderous intelligence at work behind such songs as "Down With the Sickness" that will make the most jaded, veteran head-banger cast a wary, nervous gaze in their direction.

On the 31 Dec 1999, no planes came crashing out of the sky, nuclear bombs went off or microwave ovens tried to eat anyone. However, times were about to change and in the metal scene change was already well underway. Let us take a stroll through the decade in metal that was.
Many of the 90s big names like Emperor and Pantera prepared to give their last venomous scream dying off in the wake of ever diminishing interest in the metal scene that had plagued the 90s. In the year 2000 a band named “Limp Bizkit” came out with an album called "Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavoured Water" and in a storm nu-metal took over the public perception of heavy music, changing the face of metal irreparably. Although nu-metal had already been pioneered by Korn, bands like Deftones, Disturbed, Mudvayne and Linkin Park all had breakout releases in 2000. More...
Universal Republic Records' We Are The Fallen will unleash their first single, "Bury Me Alive," exclusively via the digital domain on February 2nd. The fivesome is comprised of the original members of multiplatinum band Evanescence, guitarists Ben Moody and John LeCompt along with drummer Rocky Gray, joined by American Idol finalist Carly Smithson on vocals. Acclaimed bassist Marty O’Brien (Disturbed and Static-X, among others) rounds out We Are The Fallen.
The group is already preparing to give fans a live taste of the reportoire fueling their upcoming Universal Republic debut album, due out later in the year - hitting the road in support of Finnish rock stalwarts H.I.M. The extensive, 28 city tour launches in Philadelphia, PA, on March 27th, hurtling through multiple major cities such as Boston, MA, on March 28th, Cleveland, OH, on April 1st, Chicago IL, on April 9th, Los Angeles, CA, on April 23rd, and winding down in New York City on May 7th.
Guitarist Ben Moody has been publicly crediting the group's unique chemistry as the driving force behind We Are The Fallen, describing Carly Smithson's role as a "true partner," and a key component to We Are The Fallen's overall sound. Moody left the platinum-plus breakthrough rock act Evanesence in 2003, and has since co-written major hits for Chris Daughtry and Kelly Clarkson among others. Evanescence’s groundbreaking 2003 album, "Fallen," spent 43 weeks on the Billboard Top Ten Albums Chart, selling 15 million copies worldwide, and 7 million + albums in the U.S. alone.
For Smithson, We Are The Fallen completes her dream - after exiting American Idol - of becoming a creative force in a "vital" band environment. Carly Smithson was a sixth place finisher during Season 7 of the television series American Idol.

The Green Bay Press Gazette has reported the following story about Veterans raising concerns over the last stop of the Music as a Weapon IV tour:
Veterans say a festival that could include tobacco sampling, a tattoo parlor and heavy metal music doesn't belong near the Brown County Veterans Memorial on Armed Forces Drive.
The village recently approved a permit for the Music as a Weapon event, set to take place 2-6 p.m. May 17 at the Resch Center before a Disturbed concert later that night. Organizers say the event won't happen near the memorial, which sits on the corner of South Oneida Street and Armed Forces Drive, but some vets are wary the scene will mock the memorial.
"That is sacred land to the veterans," World War II veteran Bob Young told the Village Board. "They don't like to see it abused." More...

The Music as a Weapon 4 Tour is not just a couple of bands tagging along with Disturbed for a romp around the states. It is an all day festival of skin art, extreme sports, and music in addition to the headliner bands that draw the crowds in the first place. It all sounded wonderful to me when I bought my tickets. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out that way. More...

5/25/09 - London, ON - John Labatt Centre
5/26/09 - Toronto, ON - Ricoh Coliseum
5/27/09 - Montreal, QC - Bell Centre

6/1/09 - Quebec City, QC - Agora
6/2/09 - Ottawa, ON - Scotiabank Place
6/3/09 - Hamilton, ON - Copps Coliseum
Benji Webbe, lead singer of Welsh ragga metal band Skindred has checked in from the road with the following update:
"Well we waited for an opportunity to return to the USA as we haven’t toured in America since we did the American Rampage tour in 2007 when Roots Rock Riot first was released, and this past Disturbed tour was well worth the wait. Arena tours are always an incredible experience as we have been a band that plays in punk rock sweaty clubs all over the world but opening up for Disturbed at these sold out massive venues has been amazing.
"From the start of the tour all the guys in Disturbed and their crew were so good to us, there wasn't a bad egg among them, we all got along splendid and it was great to see this team all pulling n the same direction for the one vision: and that was to ROCK!
"David, Dan, Mike and John all were great to us, no matter what you think of this band I know from first hand they are gentlemen, I dug the band before but now the level of respect for them has gone up 100%. Some bands who are not half the size of Disturbed treat the support acts like shit, but there was none of that crap on this tour at all.
"We played some 27 dates on the tour, from the first night in Milwaukee to the last in Scranton.
Every night we made new fans and entertained old ones, after performing the shows we all would go down and meet people and hang at the merchandise stand, I know that we love meeting people and answering peoples questions, like Are you from Jamaica ? and I love 7 Dust “Hay LJ what’s it like to have Clint back in the band?” Standing there with a complete strangers arm around you whilst their mate attempts 5 times to take a picture with a shitty camera phone, your jaw starts to ache from holding the same pose, while they struggle with their horrible Motor roller razor to take our photograph! The American crowds love to rock and so do we. I just really hope we get back to the states soon and play club venues of every town we played at because we all had such a rocking time and we are itching to get back and do a full set instead of the 30 minute opening slot, it just was not enough time.
