Razorback Records has posted the following update:
“Hey everybody, just wanted to post that FRIGHTMARE is going to be on hold. Neil is more active with BLOOD FREAK these days with a full line-up and an upcoming West Coast tour in 2008 and stuff like that. He’s really going all out with that band so I just don’t see FRIGHTMARE doing anything for a really long time."
"Is the band ‘dead?’ Hell no! Dave and Neil still want to do it but it’s just not going to be happening anytime soon, that’s all. I didn”t want everybody to be expecting an album in 2008, so that’s why I’m posting this." More...

Frightmare were the first band confirmed for the Maryland Death Fest 2006, scheduled to take place May 27th and 28th, but decided to pull out of the festival.
Two bands have dropped off next year's Maryland Death Fest, scheduled to take place May 27th and 28th 2006 at The Sonar in Baltimore, MD. Those bands are FISTFUCK and FRIGHTMARE. The following explanation has been posted on the Maryland Death Fest website:
"A band member in FISTFUCK had a personal matter come up and won't be able to travel to the US next May. It is not the bands fault, nor is it ours. The band has stated they will play shows in the US as soon as it is possible again.
Also, although FRIGHTMARE was the first band we confirmed for MDF IV, they have canceled. Now they don't want to make their appearance exclusive to MDF and that's the only explanation we can provide you. As frustrating as this for us, that's all we're going to say. "
The following five bands have been added, in addition to replacing FRIGHTMARE and FISTFUCK:
BURNT BY THE SUN (New Jersey)

FRIGHTMARE has begun work on their 2nd full-length album for Razorback Records, which is going to be called "Bringing Back The Bloodshed!". New songs are being written about such blood-smeared cinematic faves as: Sleepaway Camp, Driller Killer, Just Before Dawn, Silent Night Deadly Night, Don't Go in the House, Last House on Dead End Street, and more. Also a cover of LAAZ ROCKIT's "Leatherface" is expected, done in the slash-grind style that only FRIGHTMARE can do.
Once again, gore-master Jake Karns from Tales From Uranus comics will be handling the album art. Look for a Spring 2005 release.
