Norwegian symphonic black metallers, DIMMU BORGIR, have scheduled two Mexican concerts in early October to take place before the launch of their co-headlining North American run as part of this year's Blackest of The Black tour (featuring DANZIG, MOONSPELL, WINDS OF PLAGUE, and SKELETONWITCH):
10/04 - Cafe Iguana - Monterrey, MEX
10/05 - Circo Volador - Mexico City, MEX
Determined to complete a tour with no car accidents, illnesses, or other distressing turmoil and ready to brave the road once again for the upcoming Thrash And Burn Tour, ARSIS bassist Noah Martin checks in to bring us up-to-date on tour preparations and the band’s newest addition:
“We’re really pumped about this tour. I don’t think there’s anything that will prevent us from finishing it. [Lead singer/guitarist] Jim [Malone]’s over his pneumonia. He’s been working out and running, and he feels better than ever. We even have new management that’s helping us move forward. They’re AMAZING. Hopefully our tour laminates will come with a lucky rabbit’s foot! [laughter] Right now we’re going over to [Anthrax singer] Dan Nelson’s place to rehearse for about three days before the Thrash And Burn tour starts. Our new drummer is Shawn Priest from Idaho. All the best drummers are coming outta nowhere from the Midwest! We screened him through his video on YouTube, and when we hooked up, he learned ‘We Are The Nightmare’ in a day and a half. We’re REALLY excited about this. We’re gonna have new drum parts in our songs off the new album. It’s gonna be WAY thrashier, more in-your-face. ‘Servants To The Night’ has been added to the set list because of Shawn. We’d like to keep him on as full-time, so we’ll see how he does on this tour. His flight to New York got delayed and he had to sleep in the airport, but he took it like a champ, so he’ll fit right in, putting up with a bunch of bullshit right from the start! [laughter] We’ll see if we can get him to drink boxed wine. First post on Blabbermouth gets a free beer at one of our shows!”
The video to the title track off of We Are The Nightmare recently received an outpouring of fan votes on MTV2's "Your Vote Counts" for inclusion on the next episode of Headbangers Ball. View the trailer to We Are The Nightmare’s bonus DVD here. An ARSIS live show photo gallery can be viewed at the Metal Fanatix website.
The Thrash And Burn North American tour features Darkest Hour (headliner), Parkway Drive, Misery Signals, Winds of Plague, Stick to Your Guns, Arsis, Abigail Williams, Arsonists Get All the Girls and After The Burial. The tour dates are as follows: More...
Athens, Ohio’s SKELETONWITCH are proud to be announced as part of this year’s Blackest of the Black Tour alongside Danzig, Dimmu Borgir, Moonspell and Winds of Plague. SKELETONWITCH guitarist Scott Hedrick comments: "Cheers and beers, heshers!!! Here's a quick SKELETONWITCH update; proof that we've been doing SOMETHING since returning from Europe (besides gorging on Taco Bell). As you may have read, we're privileged to be a part of this year's Blackest of the Black Tour. We are beyond stoked to be a part of this killer lineup. About six years ago, I can recall [SKELETONWITCH guitarist] Nate one Halloween half shit-canned, with half a 30-pack, and a Marshall half-stack, standing on his roof playing Danzig riffs. Back then we certainly never thought we'd have an opportunity like this!! A huge thanks goes out to Danzig for inviting us to be a part of this tour. Please come out early and check out our set.
"Also, in early August we're hitting the road with Valient Thorr and Early Man, as well as playing several solo dates. Check out our MySpace page for dates, new live footage and video interviews. Hope those dudes are ready to party, and we hope to see you out on the road. As always, thanks to everyone who has supported THE WITCH!”
SKELETONWITCH continues to support the band’s Prosthetic Records debut, "Beyond The Permafrost," which saw an October 2007 release and features artwork from Baroness’ John Baizley and production courtesy of Corey Smoot (Municipal Waste, GWAR). The record is the follow-up to the band’s self-released EP, "Worship The Witch." Recently returning from a European tour alongside Hate Eternal, Cephalic Carnage, and Deaborn in May and June, having already toured Stateside this year with the likes of Hate Eternal, Soilent Green, Arsis, A Life Once Lost, Job For A Cowboy, The Red Chord, and more, in addition to a busy 2007 on the road.

Winds Of Plague has officially added former Abigail Williams keyboard player Kristen Randall to their line-up. Singer Johnny comments:
"We're currently out on tour with Kristen and couldn't be happier to announce her as a permanent member. The Dead To Fall tour has been amazing so far. Every city has showed us a lot of love and the crowds have gone insane. We are pleasantly surprised at how well the public is taking to our new material and we can't wait for this new album to circulate because our live shows are just going to get more and more insane as people become familiar with the tracks."
Belay My Last has dropped off their upcoming tour with Dead To Fall, Winds Of Plague, and Impending Doom. The group attributes the cancellation to problems with drummer Ilai Lebel's broken arm, which is not healing "correctly." Belay My Last will be replaced on the tour by With Dead Hands Rising.
Century Media Records issue the following press release:
The buzz surrounding WINDS OF PLAGUE is continuing to build leading up to the release date for their much anticipated Century Media Records debut album, Decimate The Weak, which is set for a Feb. 5th release. This stunning slab of brutality annihilates the listener with its razor sharp riffs and sheer intensity backed with a monsoon of angst and inner demons that is just waiting to be expelled on stage.
