"The photo shoot for the album will be taking place in Derby at the end of July, whilst my good friend Felipe Machado (who did the art for the MOI album) is currently developing ideas for the new artwork. We are aiming for a release in late January/early February 2011 through Napalm Records."
U.K. power metallers Power Quest have checked in with the following announcement about recruiting a new vocalist:
"Power Quest are pleased to announce that the new vocalist is Chitral ‘Chity’ Somapala. Chity is well known and highly regarded worldwide in the rock and metal scene and has recorded, toured and made guest appearances with the likes of ‘Avalon’, ‘Faro’, ‘Firewind’ and ‘Red Circuit’, as well as fronting his own band ‘Civilization One’. His unmistakable style has been compared favourably with Ronnie James Dio, Klaus Meine and Johnny Gioeli."
Power Quest main man Steve Williams also commented on the news: "I’m thrilled to have recruited a vocalist and front man of Chity’s calibre. I’ve known Chity for a couple of years and we have often talked about working together and now we have that opportunity. We have already recorded 3 new songs with him and they just sound immense. In addition to this news we are also pleased to welcome Gavin Owen into the band as the new guitarist. Previously Gav was the lead guitarist for Welsh Metallers ‘Triaxis’. Gav’s audition last weekend was of the highest standard and we were all very impressed by his playing and how he conducted himself throughout the process. There was an instant chemistry there between him and the rest of the guys and particularly with Andy which bodes well for the future."
Meanwhile the band continues to work on material for the forthcoming album "Blood Alliance," with recording scheduled to commence in early July.
U.K. power metallers Power Quest have issued the following update about the title of their upcoming fifth album:
"We can now reveal that the forthcoming fifth Power Quest record will be titled 'Blood Alliance.' Work on the new material continues apace and the songs that have been demoed so far are sounding awesome and true to the PQ tradition of catchy, melodic metal.
"Thanks to everyone who applied for the vacant guitarist position in the band. We had a huge amount of applicants from all over the world and unfortunately couldn't reply to each and every one of you. Those shortlisted for audition have been informed via email and we look forward to seeing you on May 2nd in Derby."
U.K. power metallers Power Quest have issued the following update about recording new material:
"We entered Aubitt Studios in Southampton yesterday to start recording 3 new demos for the new album with Rob Aubrey. The songs we are recording are 'Rising Anew,' 'Sacrifice,' and 'Time to Burn.'
"Rich did an amazing job yesterday and nailed all 3 songs in a matter of hours! So he gets a couple of days off now....and well deserved too! Andy starts on guitars at 10am this morning with bass to be completed tomorrow. From there I will be recording keyboards at Symphony studio early next week before we add vocals to the mix the following week!"
UK power metal band Power Quest has issued the following update regarding lineup changes:

"A new vocalist has already been found and the band is hard at work rehearsing new material with him."
"In the meantime, Power Quest is looking for a new guitarist to join the line up. Dedication, commitment and drive are essential as is the ability and desire to tour and rehearse (one weekend per month in the UK) as required. Experience is obviously an advantage but is by no means essential. So if you are a guitarist familiar with Power Quest and influenced by melodic metal and hard rock then here's what you have to do to apply:" More...
Power Quest has issued the following update about working on a new album:
"Power Quest are pleased to announce that they will be returning to the recording studio on July 5th 2010 to begin recording their 5th, as yet untitled, album. This will be their second offering for Napalm Records and will be the first to feature the new look Power Quest line up.
"Recording will take place at Remaster Studio in Vicenza, Italy and will be produced by Nick Savio. This fantastic studio was where the majority of the Master of Illusion album was recorded. It's going to be great to be back in Italy and to be working with Nick again and I'm expecting to run into one or two very familiar faces during the recording process!
"Prior to this, the band will be demoing 3 new tracks for the record company at the end of March at Aubitt Studios in Southampton. The following songs are set for inclusion in the recordings: ‘Sacrifice’, ‘Time to Burn’ and ‘Rising Anew’."

Power Quest has issued the following announcement about canceling their appearance at the Rock of Ages festival on November 22nd:
"Power Quest has taken the decision to cancel their performance at Rock of Ages festival scheduled for 22.11.09 in London at The Bridgehouse. Unfortunately terms and conditions could not be agreed between the band’s management team and the promoter which means that the band would be facing a financial loss. We are very sad to have to have reached this decision and hope that any fans that brought tickets based on Power Quest appearance will understand our position.
“We are truly disappointed that we won’t be able to play, but promise our fans, that we will be on the road again in the UK in December. Further details will be announced shortly. We would also like to thank all the fans that came out to see us on our headline UK dates in October, as well as playing with Tarja. We really enjoyed hanging out with all our fans and are very pleased about the positive feedback we received on our new line-up.”

Power Quest has issued the following announcement about replacing several members of the band:
"We are very pleased to finally reveal the all-new Power Quest line-up. A farewell to members Alessio Garavello, Andrea Martongelli and Francesco Tresca was given at Saturday’s final show @ Metalfest UK in Dudley. The band’s final performance took the Metalfest crowd by storm as they tore through a blistering set of Power Quest classics. Power Quest is now facing the biggest change in band history since they started in 2001. Steve Williams is confident that the new members of the family will continue to keep the PQ dream alive.
First addition to the now UK based 6 piece is vocalist Pete Morten, who is also known from his guitar job in Threshold. Pete is an extremely talented vocalist and brings his own style to the unique Power Quest sound. To recruit a singer similar to Alessios’ style was never an option, when we were looking for a strongly skilled singer with his own personality. Pete is just the man for it! The first of our new guitarists is 21-year-old Andy Midgley. He will take care of the rhythm parts but will also be blasting out some solos too! Behind the drum kit is Derby based sticks man Rich Smith, an extremely talented drummer, Rich has been a part of the UK metal scene for more than ten years. More...
Steve Williams of U.K. based power metallers Power Quest has issued the following announcement about completely changing the line-up of the band:
"Following on from the departures of long standing members Steve Scott (bass) and Alessio Garavello (vocals) earlier in 2009, it is with great sadness that we bring you the news that Andrea Martongelli (guitars) and Francesco Tresca (drums) have also decided to call time on their tenure in Power Quest. Andrea has recently taken on a lot more teaching work in Italy and has also got a lot of work to do with his band Arthemis and, as a result, felt he wouldn't be able to dedicate enough of his time to PQ as he would have liked and has done in the past. Francesco came to the conclusion that it would not make sense to have a drummer based in Italy when he realised that the new guys were more than likely going to be UK based. He is now teaching drums regularly in Italy as well as working with his band Hypnotheticall.
"Well, it's certainly been an eventful year! That's probably the understatement of the year as well! It was a wrench to see Steve and Alessio leaving earlier in the year but to hear from 'Doc' and 'Checco' that they were stepping down as well, it felt like being hit by a sledgehammer! However, I must point out that after working with these guys for so many years now the split is perfectly amicable. Friendships have been formed that will last a lifetime and I wish the guys all the very best for the future and I look forward to hanging out with them again in Italy very soon!
"As you can imagine, this left me behind the 8 ball somewhat. Should I carry on with PQ? Or should I lay it to rest now? Having thought the whole thing through and discussed it with friends, family, management and other business contacts I came to the conclusion that I have invested 10 years of my life into Power Quest and have been the driving force behind the band as well as the primary writer, why should I stop now? Power Quest has issued the following brief statement about recruiting a new vocalist and guitar player:
"New singer and guitarist found!
"The 2 guys (vocals and guitar) have now been recruited and we'll be making an announcement about this during the course of September!"
Power Quest has announced that due to a visa application rejection they will be unable to attend the Prog Power USA festival. The band issued the following statement about the cancellation:
"From a Power Quest perspective we are absolutely gutted that we won't be able to come over for PPUSA. We've been looking forward to this for the best part of a year and it was going to be the highlight of 2009 for us. Having spoken at great length with Glenn, there was absolutely nothing that could be done once we heard the decision that had been made.
"I'm so sorry for the fans who had contacted us saying how much they were looking forward to finally seeing us on US soil.....and then this happens!!! Hopefully we can come over in the future and be a bit more fortunate when it comes to whoever reviews our visa applications. We had booked flights as well so the band will take a loss of around £1500 on that alone......
"Glenn has done a great job in sorting out the roster at such short notice.......I'm sure you will all have a fantastic time as always at PPUSA. I'm just sorry that we won't be able to be there and share it with you."
Power Quest has issued the following announcement about parting ways with their vocalist:
"We are very sad to announce that Alessio Garavello will be leaving Power Quest after the festival shows in September. Alessio has been the voice of Power Quest ever since the 'Wings of Forever' album back in 2002, and has also had two stints of playing rhythm guitar in the band as well. In that time he has established himself as one of the top power metal vocalists in the business.
"Founding member Steve Williams commented: 'I have to say I was surprised when I got the call from Alessio telling me the news. I can hardly believe it is 7 years since a fresh faced, 21 year old Italian came over to record for the first time. We didn’t know it then but it was the start of a great friendship, which will transcend band membership and all that. We always say in PQ that you only get one life and you have to make the absolute most of it. Sometimes that involved difficult decisions such as the one Alessio has made. I fully respect and support his decision and wish him all the best in his future musical endeavours. I’d like to thank Al for all his hard work and commitment to the cause over the years and, following the departure of Steve Scott earlier this year, it is truly the end of an era.' More...

"Unfortunately we have to begin 2009 with some sad news. Bassist Steve Scott has decided to make his move to New Zealand a permanent one and as a result has decided it is time for him to leave Power Quest. We are all very sorry to see him go but wish him all the best in his new life in NZ."
