Visa Issues Force Morgana Lefay Off PPUSA

In a heartfelt post, ProgPower USA promoter Glenn Harveston announced that Sweden's Morgana Lefay will be be participating in this year's festival due to "dreaded VISA issues." The process has become worse and worse lately, as Harveston points out - and the cancellation of Morgana Lefay's appearance is just another in a myriad of tour and appearances that have been lost to the process.

The statement reads: "Over the years, I have had to write a post like this a few times. It is the absolute worst part of the job. It’s one that pisses me off and makes you want to retire.

"Due to the dreaded 'visa issues,' Morgana Lefay will not be performing at the festival this year. The band has been truly professional and understanding of the situation. Unfortunately, there is nothing within our means that can be done to meet a potential deadline required for scheduling interviews at the Swedish consul and having assurance the actual physical visas will be in hand prior to travel for the festival.

"There was a worldwide shutdown on the visa process in June for an unspecified time due to “technical difficulties.” This has caused chaos around the world across not only the entertainment industry, but the private sector as well. There is no guarantee that even paying a premium fee will change things as well. Class action lawsuits against the UCIS have started to become more frequent as well because of delays. The issue continues to hurt bands in our genres as Obscura just announced they had to cancel a U.S. tour and lost $15,000 as a result of visa delays. The list goes on and on. As a point of reference, Morgana Lefay’s paperwork was submitted in late April. More...

Tad Morose guitarist Christer Andersson has posted the following message online:

"Hi there everybody! We are proud to announce the new line up! After a few years with various problems it feels great that we now are a working band again! Things just didn't work out the way we wanted with Joe Comeau (ex-OVERKILL, ANNHILATOR), he is an excellent singer and a very nice guy, but it just didn't work out for us in the long run. We only did three shows and recorded a two-track demo with him. We wish him all the best!

"The new singer is Ronny Hemlin (STEEL ATTACK), Ronny is a very, very good singer and fits perfect! Check out his work with Steel Attack and you will know what I mean. More...

Bloodstock Xmas Party Cancelled

The Bloodstock Xmas party with Morgana Lefay headlining has been cancelled due to an illness in the band. Here is the email Bloodstock organizers received from Robin or Morgana Lefay regarding the situation.

Robin of Morgana Lefay here.
We are very, very sad to announce that we have to cancel Bloodstock X-Mas Party at Dudley JB's.

Our guitarist Peter Grehn was rushed to the hospital at 04:00 this morning with major stomach pains. We've been waiting all morning to get word of whats wrong and they just called and said he's going into surgery at a hospital 100km from our hometown.

From what we heard it's something with the appendix, we don't know at this time how serious it is. But since it's surgery he will not be allowed to travel in the next following days.

We were REALLY looking forward to this show, the first in the UK and all that, we can't even find words to explain how sorry we are. Hopefully we can come over and make up for this at a later date.

Sincerily Yours
Morgana Lefay
