Hard rock supergroup Chickenfoot, which features Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony and Chad Smith, has posted its first video teaser online to promote its upcoming new album. The album, which is simply titled "Chickenfoot III," is set to be released on September 27, 2011 through the band's new label home eOne Music. You can check out the teaser trailer below.

The "supergroup" known as Chickenfoot -- comprised of ex-Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar and bassist Michael Anthony, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist Joe Satriani -- have announced plans to release their first album.
The self-described "accidental" collaboration occurred as a result of jam sessions at Hagar's Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Their self-titled debut will drop June 5, and comes complete with a "heat sensitive sleeve" which will reveal the cover artwork via touch.

Joe Satriani has achieved legendary status as the premier electric guitarist with 13 solo albums, three platinum DVDs, and the mega-successful G3 tours. On April 1, 2008, Satriani kicks off the release of his 13th solo album, entitled "Professor Satchafunkilus And The Musterion Of Rock" (Sony/BMG), with the first of 11 nationwide "GC Sessions" at the Guitar Center in Boston, Mass. The much-anticipated "GC Sessions" will feature question-and-answer segments, autograph signings, and best of all, live performances by Joe Satriani. Following the album's release, Satriani will embark on a worldwide tour, kicking off April 30 in Lisbon, Portugal before hitting the continental European market, Australia, South America, and finally returning to the U.S. in the fall of 2008.

Legendary guitarist Joe Satriani has entered the studio to begin recording his new album for a tentative April 2008 release. "Joining me this time are engineer/co-producer John Cuniberti, drummer Jeff Campitelli, bassist Matt Bissonette, multi-instra-mentalist Eric Caudieux, Zen Master Mike Manning and Mysterious Mike Boden, who shaved his head for the project!" Satriani writes on his web site. "There is no working title for the project as of yet... suggestions are always welcome."

The 2007 incarnation of Joe Satriani's popular G3 tour will kick off on March 14th in Phoenix starring Satriani, John Petrucci (Dream Theater) and Paul Gilbert. The tour will play selected dates in North America throughout March and April.

The 2007 tour marks the 5th North American G3 run and the 12th G3 tour worldwide since its inception. The first G3 tour, featuring Satriani, Eric Johnson and Steve Vai, played to sold-out crowds throughout October and November, 1996 and was followed by successful treks in Europe, South America, Japan and Australia. The most recent North American G3 tour, in 2003, showcased Satriani, Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen and was documented in the platinum DVD G3 Live in Denver. Other platinum DVD's include the 1996 run and the 2005 Japanese tour with Vai and Petrucci.

According to a posting on his official web site, legendary guitarist Joe Satriani has been diagnosed with pneumonia and is unable to perform the concerts scheduled December 28 through January 1 2005. At press time, all the dates are expected to be rescheduled in early 2005.
"Joe is expected to make a full recovery after rest and medication," the statement continues. "He regrets being unable to perform this holiday season and wishes all his fans a Happy New Year and looks forward to seeing them as soon as he is back to 100 percent."
