Sabaton Comments On Bonus Cover Tracks

For the upcoming new record "Heroes," Swedish heavy metal institution Sabaton now reveals the different track listings, including all the bonus tracks that will be available.

Among them are three cover versions of Metallica, Battle Beast, and Raubtier.

"Heroes" will be released on May 16th, 2014 via Nuclear Blast. The band comments on the bonus tracks:

"METALLICA - ‘For Whom The Bell Tolls:' All of us are old fans of Metallica The choice of the song was difficult, but we all could agree on that one. As an addition, ‘For Whom The Bell Tolls’ was the first heavy metal song ever performed on a stage by Pär.

"BATTLE BEAST - ‘Out Of Control:' Battle Beast was our secret guest at our latest Sabatoncruise and we all enjoyed watching them perform their songs live. We thought we wanted to support young and upcoming bands and decided to do a cover of them.

"RAUBTIER - ‘En Hjältes Väg:' Raubtier are our brothers from the north of Sweden. We have played together countless times and in the past, and Thobbe used to be in this band. At a special concert in 2012 Joakim performed this song live together with Raubtier and it awoke the idea of doing a cover-version. Seeing to the song title it was also a natural choice for our latest album "Heroes.'"

The track listings will be as follows: More...

The latest round of additions to the continually-expanding lineup for 2014's installment of the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival has been disclosed, including Massachusetts' own '90s hardcore punk act, Sam Black Church.

Confirmed as one of the main headliners of the event's third night, Saturday, April 19th, Sam Black Church's set at NEMHF 2014 will mark only the third performance since the group initially disbanded at the turn of the century, and first in Central Massachusetts since the late '90s.

Over the years sharing bills with bands as diverse as Bad Brains, Clutch, Motörhead, Cro-Mags, Fear, and Helmet, they were one of the most popular hardcore bands in the Northeast United States during the 1990s. After releasing three full-lengths on Taang! Records, they left to join Wonderdrug where they remained until they retired in 2000 after releasing a total of seven albums. Since disbanding, Sam Black Church reunited for a sold-out show on September 22, 2007, at The Roxy in Boston, and played a another sold-out performance at Hometown Throwdown #16 with The Mighty Mighty Bosstones at House of Blues in Boston on December 29th, 2013. A documentary of their career by Duncan Wilder Johnson entitled Leave Behind a Groove in the Earth is scheduled for release in 2014."
