Samael Drummer Sidelined For Six Weeks
SAMAEL have posted this brief message on their official website:
"Xy fractured his wrist in a snowboard accident last week. He will consequently be unable to perform his percussions duties for at least 6 weeks. The band's first appearance in Israel on the 28th of December as well as the January European dates will however goes as planned."
Rammstein Frontman To Appear In New Movie
According to Rammstein fan site Herzeleid.com, frontman Till Lindemann will be playing an animal-rights activist in an upcoming movie called Vinzent. The release is planned for next year, though it was actually filmed in 2004. Shots from the film (including a few with Till) can be viewed on the official site (www.vinzentderfilm.de), as well as a trailer.
This is not the first time that Till has been in a movie. He briefly appeared in Pola X (1999) and xXx (2002). In 2003 he had his first real role in the children's film Amundsen der Pinguin and played the part of a "bad guy" who wanted to steal a penguin because it knew the location of lost treasure.
Maroon To Support Obituary And Samael On Tour
Germany’s metal infused hardcore outfit Maroon will support Obituary and Samael on their forthcoming tour in January 2006. A special guest, who is still TBC, will be added as opener to the package.
“We are extremely happy and very proud to be part of this tour”, says Maroon frontman Andre Moraweck. “Obituary and Samael are some of our most favourite bands and some of the main reasons that got us into music as well as making music. We are really looking forward to sharing stages with both bands. – Don’t miss this awesome package!”

Samael Frontman Talks About Split w/ Century Media
SAMAEL guitarist/vocalist Vorph recently spoke to Denmark's Antenna webzine about the group's latest CD, "Reign of Light", and their split with longtime label Century Media Records, among other topics. An excerpt from the interview follows:
Antenna: The most urgent question for me tonight must presumably be the your split with Century Media in favour of the comparatively smaller label Regain Records? Do explain you motives for such a radical change...
Vorph: "We finished the contract. We signed with the label in '92, and now we wanted more control with what we're doing, although they wanted to sign us again. We made our own imprint just to keep control with our own productions. At the moment, the imprint is merely regarding our own productions, and we're not planning to sign other bands right now, but maybe later we well. Who knows?"
