Amberian Dawn's Veenendaal Show Cancelled

Amberian Dawn cancelled yesterday's (October 16th) show at Escape in Veenendaal, NL due to vocalist Heidi Parviainen's crow throat.

Trail Of Tears Announces Dutch Tour Dates

Trail of Tears has issued the following announcement about Dutch tour dates with Epica:

"Trail of Tears will kick off the 2010 touring schedule with four shows in The Netherlands as main support for EPICA. The live schedule is shaping up nicely and we can not think of a better way to start 2010 then with a string of shows in our second home Holland together with the great guys and girl in Epica! See you all there!"

Blackguard Checks In with Tour Recap, Album Update

Blackguard vocalist Paul Ablaze has checked in with the following Summer Slaughter Tour recap and new album update:

"Hey everyone! Paul Ablaze here. I'm very sorry for the lack of updates, these things slip my mind sometimes . But here it is finally (better late than never i suppose) a little something to let you all know what's gone down and what's in the works!

"Summer Slaughter Re-cap (i started writing this a while ago)

"This years summer slaughter has come and gone. Beers were drunk, blood was shed, vomit covered jeans, didn't see anyone cry but who knows? Point is no one came out the other end of this beast unchanged in some way, and we are without a doubt stronger than we've ever been as a band because of it.
This being only our second full north american tour we had everything to prove to both the fans and our peers, and i believe we won the respect of both along the way. I had said early on in the tour how amazed i was on how social everyone was and how much we as a tour came together and pulled for one another. I truly believe that the only reason this tour finished when it was suppose to and not 4 weeks earlier was because of the strength in character everyone displayed and how devoid everyone was of any kind of "ego" or "rock star" mentality.

Epica Films New Music Video

Dutch symphonic metal outfit Epica recently travelled near Berlin to film their latest music video. The video is for the song, "Unleashed" which will appear on their forthcoming new studio album, "Design Your Universe," scheduled to be released on October 16th. Expect the video to premiere online soon.

Epica Posts Live Album Teasers Online

Epica has uploaded two teasers from their upcoming live album, The Classical Conspiracy," on the band's Myspace. One contains extracts of the classical set (metal adaptations of famous classical and filmmusic songs) and the other is a medley of Epica songs. Check the songs out here.

The double live CD will be released on May 8, 2009 (Europe) and May 19, 2009 (North America) via Nuclear Blast Records. Epica Reveals Live Album Details

Dutch female-fronted symphonic metallers Epica will release a double live CD, titled "The Classical Conspiracy" (view cover) on May 8, 2009 (Europe) and May 19, 2009 (North America) through Nuclear Blast Records.

Epica Begins Recording New Album

Netherlands based symphonic metal band Epica has begun recording their new studio album. A message from the band reads as follows: "Yesterday we arrived at the Gate studio in Wolfsburg, Germany to record the new full length studio album. Ariën (van Weesenbeek) is doing great so far. Sanders of After Forever Provides a HDK Sneak Peak

Sanders Gommans of After Forever has given further news on his new project which, up 'til this point, we've had nothing to judge it on since no material was present at the time. Now, a video made by D'Images (famous for working with After Forever, Stream of Passion, Ayreon, and Nemesea) has been released with audio samples of HDK's forthcoming debut, "System Overload." You can view the video below.

In addition, Amanda Somerville, who has worked with Ayreon, Epica, and Kamelot, has been participating in the project.

System Overload will be released on February 23rd.

Epica Announces New Guitarist, Isaac Delahaye

Dutch gothic metallers, Epica, have announced the addition of Isaac Delahaye (of God Dethroned and Edgecrusher) as their new guitarist to replace Ad Sluijter. Epica have issued the following comments regarding their decision:

"Isaac is no stranger to the band since he already replaced Ad once at a gig in France back in 2003. He also worked with Coen, Yves and Arien on "Project SiC" in 2006, but the most of you will know him from his work with "God Dethroned" in which he also worked with Arien. Isaac is an enormously talented and skilled musician and we think he is the ideal person to fill up Ad's spot and to make Epica's line-up strong and complete again." More...
