Car Bomb Joins Gojira On Tour

New York experimental metal exhibitionists Car Bomb have officially come out of hiding in a big way, having just joined Gojira on a short run of dates that commenced on Thursday in New York City. The festivities continue tonight in Worcester at The Palladium and will trample its way back through Manhattan to Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee and Cleveland.

Comments the band: “We are beyond excited to be doing this string of dates with the mighty Gojira. It is an honor.” Dates are:

8/13/2012 The Palladium – Worcester, MA
8/14/2012 The Studio @ Webster Hall – New York City, NY
8/15/2012 Pike Room – Detroit, MI
8/16/2012 The Bottom Lounge – Chicago, IL
8/19/2012 Rave Bar – Milwaukee, WI
8/20/2012 Peabody’s – Cleveland, OH

Car Bomb recently unleashed the new single “Third Revelation,” which features guest vocalist Joseph Duplantier of Gojira. The track will be on new album "w^w^^w^w." Check it out the song at this location.

The following press release was also issued about the band: "Whether chopping a riff into pieces, reversing it, cutting it short, or messing with the tempo, Car Bomb’s unique style of progressive metal is the product of dissecting ideas and beating them to death. The result is equivalent to a jet engine propelling gravel into your skull. Car Bomb combines the polyrhythmic and mathematical madness of Meshuggah and Dillinger Escape Plan with the rage and energetic fury of Coalesce and Converge. Though their songs are musically challenging, Car Bomb refuse to dilute their ruthless execution. Their intent is to assault the listener in any and every way possible – compositionally, sonically, and lyrically."

Lamb Of God Tour With Dethklok Cancelled

Lamb of God announced that upcoming co-headline tour with Dethklok and Gojira, scheduled to begin August 1st, in Seattle has been cancelled. The band's issued a statement: "Lamb of God wishes to thank Dethklok, Adult Swim and Gojira for their support and patience as well as all of the promoters who had dates on the tour. Last but certainly not least, the band thanks all of the fans who bought tickets for the tour and who have been supportive of Randy and the band over the last month that Randy has been held in Prague. Without the fans, there is no Lamb of God."

Adult Swim also commented: "In light of circumstances beyond our control, the upcoming Dethklok and Lamb of God with Gojira summer tour has been canceled. Refunds will be available to customers who already purchased tickets through their point of purchase. Roadrunner Bands Talk Supportive Moms

This Sunday is Mother's Day, and Roadrunner Records though it would be nice to let some of the label artists represent for their moms, who supported their kids' musical ambitions early on. Roadrunner asked two simple questions - "Does your mom like/support your band?" and "What's your mom's favorite song by your band?"

Max Cavalera, Sepultura/Nailbomb/Soulfly/Cavalera Conspiracy: "Yes, my mom was our first big supporter. She let everybody camp in our house. Our house was always full of metal kids. Her favorite song is 'Innerself' [from Sepultura's Beneath the Remains]. I think she likes the lyrics, because it was about when I was living in Brazil and she remembers that period of our life."

Tyler Connolly, Theory of a Deadman: "My mother is a big supporter of our band, of course, and always wants to make sure we wear our seat belts on our tour bus. I don't think she has a favorite song, but always wonders where I got my terrible potty mouth from. We usually roll through her home town once a year and she's the best at wrangling sluts for me. I love my mom."

Phil Demmel, Machine Head: "My mom, being a musician, was supportive of my interest in music from the word go. Her and my father cultivated my 'hobby' doing everything from matching me dollar for dollar on my first guitar, videotaping my earliest gigs at the seediest Bay Area bars/clubs, to standing on stage with me in front of 60,000 people in her native Portugal when we opened for Metallica. She loves our acoustic material. Our songs 'Descend the Shades of NIght' and 'Darkness Within' are favorites." More...
