Slayer played Fun Fun Fun Fest on Sunday two years ago. The promoters of the fest, Transmission Events, must see the value in making Sunday its metal day. As was experienced on Sunday two years ago, we left the park Sunday night with the metallic taste of Slayer in our mouths. My hunt for steel started at 12:30 when 4arm (read xFiruath’s interview) took the stage. I had no problem making this early show since I skipped the Nites shows on Saturday. Unfortunately for the Aussie modern thrash group, most of the fest’s attendees found 12:30 too early in the day. The 20 or so people who did make the early show were treated to one of the best performances of the weekend. More...
Gojira's new video for the track “The Gift of Guilt” from last year’s "L’Enfant Sauvage" captures the band's live show in all its glory.
Filmed at London’s O2 Brixton Academy, it’s not quite as good as seeing the band live in the flesh, but it’s definitely the next best thing: watch it exclusively at MetalSucks here. The site comments:
"Gojira are truly something special; they’re one of the few bands in metal whose live performances are more like religious experiences than concerts. They bring all the energy you could possibly want from an extreme music act to the stage with them, but there’s also a gracefulness to the way they perform.
"As if that weren’t enough, Gojira have teamed up with Roadrunner Records labelmates Kvelertak to release a live EP, completely free, available right now. Each band has three songs on the EP including the version of Gojira’s 'The Gift of Guilt' in the video."
Australian thrash metal export 4ARM is gearing up for an extensive North American tour with the legendary Slayer, set to commence this month in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Direct support on the five-week-plus trek will come from French extreme metal act Gojira. A promotional video for the tour can be seen below.
When asked about the opportunity to tour with one of 4ARM's greatest influences, drummer Michael Vafiotis commented:
"It's no secret we have been hugely influenced by Slayer ever since we picked up our instruments, and now to actually be given the opportunity to tour with the band that I've personally grown up listening to for over to 15 years is beyond my wildest dreams. All I can say is that I can't wait to get back to North America and 'SLAY' the hell out of what will be the biggest tour of our careers to date."
4ARM is touring in support of its third studio album, 2012's "Submission for Liberty," which released on Rising Records. More...

Following a summer of storming through Europe, South America, and Mexico while topping the bills at solo shows and major festivals, Slayer will headline its first North American tour in two years.
The five-week-plus trek will kick off on October 22nd in Anchorage, Alaska, oddly enough marking the first time the band has played there since October 23rd, 1996. The tour will include the band's previously announced return to New York's Theatre at Madison Square Garden and the Hollywood Palladium, venues the band hasn't performed at in 25 years.
Slayer - Tom Araya/bass vocals, guitarist Kerry King, drummer Paul Bostaph, and guitarist Gary Holt, who continues to fill in for the late founding member Jeff Hanneman - will have Gojira and 4ARM support on all dates.
While still recovering from the devastating loss of Jeff Hanneman, Araya and King have begun to work on new material and hope to spend some time in the studio prior to this tour.
With more dates to be announced, confirmed dates for Slayer's 2013 Fall North American tour are as follows: More...

By popular demand, Prosthetic Records will soon issue gatefold double-LP editions of the two albums that rocketed the French quartet Gojira from the European underground to international stardom.
“From Mars To Sirius” and “The Way Of All Flesh” will be released on vinyl on August 27th, 2013. Pre-orders are available now at this location.
Originally issued overseas in 2005, “From Mars To Sirius," released by Prosthetic in 2006, and never before available on LP in North America, was the Western Hemisphere’s formal introduction to Gorjia. One of MetalSucks’ Top 10 “best metal albums of the 21st Century so far,” the album was supported by U.S. tours with the likes of Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Machine Head, Behemoth, and Amon Amarth. The gatefold 2LP set will be available in three 180-gram variants: “Eco-Green” (600 copies), “Mars Red” (200 copies) and “Sea Blue” (200 copies), the latter two of which are mail-order exclusives.
Engineered, mixed, and mastered by Logan Mader (Five Finger Death Punch, DevilDriver, Fear Factory), the follow-up was “The Way Of All Flesh” (2008). The band’s first release to crack the Billboard Top 200, the album — which features a guest appearance by Lamb of God front man Randy Blythe — was supported by tours with In Flames and All That Remains, in addition to a month touring North American arenas with Metallica. The gatefold 2LP set marks the first time in three years that the album will be available on vinyl, and it will be offered in two new variants: 180-gram clear (500 copies), and a mail-order exclusive, standard-weight blue/white split vinyl (500 copies).
Gojira is currently crossing the U.K. on the Jägermeister tour with Ghost and The Defiled, and frontman Joe Duplantier was interviewed in Glasgow, Scotland.
In the clip available below, he talks about Gojira's stage setup, being nervous before hitting the stage, retaining the passion for making music and performing, and much more. Gorjia is preforming in support of latest album "L'Enfant Sauvage."
