NoiseArt Records and Rock The Nation are proud to announce the worldwide signing of Swedish viking/black metal band Thyrfing.
The band has signed a deal with Noiseart Records for an upcoming seventh full-length album, scheduled for the spring of 2013. The album – the first Thyrfing release since 2008’s “Hels vite” – will be recorded and mixed during late summer and autumn 2012.
At the same time the band has signed an agreement with concert & artist agency Rock The Nation for future live performances.
Thyrfing commented: “We are really looking forward to this new co-operation and truly believes that Noiseart Records and Rock The Nation are the right channel for bringing our music to the public and fans in the future."
Catamenia, Graveworm, and Wolfchant have now been confirmed in the lineup of the upcoming 2011 Ragarok Festival. The festival takes place on April 29th - 30th, 2011 at the Stadthalle in Lichtenfels, and additional details are available here.

The 2010 edition of the Jotunheim festival was scheduled to feature bands such as Thyrfing, Manegarm, Vreid, and more. The Jotunheim organizers have now issued the following statement about canceling the festival:
"We must inform you that we have unfortunately been forced to cancel the first edition of Jotunheim Festival! Jotunheim Festival is canceled due to apparent pressure from Antifa who believed that the line-up included bands that advocated fascism or were affiliated with fascistic political movements. This was completely untrue, with not a single band having ever expressed such political sympathies (if any), only pride in their heritage (though of course, any such display immediately gets Antifa up in arms anyway). Nor was there any statement made on behalf of the festival that specified any particulars about who could and could not attend, certainly not on racial grounds.
"Because of the Antifa groups, Northwind Promotion declines to do concerts and festivals in Croatia, and in the future will be focused on the external market where there are no organizations that will charge based on nonexistent facts. For a refund of the tickets, please contact us by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org."
Thyrfing has issued the following announcement about guitarist Patrik Lindgren joining a Bathory tribute project:
"Patrik will be a part of the 'Twilight of The Gods' live project, which is a tribute to the epic albums of Bathory and will perform at the Metalfest Festivals in Europe in May. The other members involved are Alan Nemtheanga (Primordial), Blasphemer (Aura Noir/Ava Inferi), Frode Glesnes (Einherjer) and Nick Barker (Lock Up)."

Thyrfing have announced they will not be appearing at the Metalfest Open Air festivals in Germany and Austria, as was previously reported. The statement from the band is as follows:
"This is an official statement from Thyrfing regarding some gigs that have been announced (e.g. Metalfest Open Airs in Germany & Austria). Obviously there has been a misunderstanding between promoters and local arrangers confirming these shows. We were in negotiation about them, but had to withdraw and turn down the offers for various reasons. We never confirmed these shows, but obviously they were announced anyway. This is of course very unfortunate, and we are sorry about any inconvenience it might have caused, but also it's something that is totally beyond our control."
Sweden's Thyrfing has issued the following statement about headlining the Jotunheim festival:

With this being said, we hereby welcome Jens Rydén to the band as new vocalist. Jens is best known as founding member and ex-vocalist of NAGLFAR and recently also for his one-man army PROFUNDI.
