Legendary German metal act Accept have announced plans to stream its October 19, 2010 performance in Los Angeles, California online. The concert, taking place at Los Angeles' famed Key Club, will be the first for the band to take place in the city in over 15 years.
The stream will be taking place at this location, on the day of the performance.
While most people will tell you that heavy metal was born in Great Britain, the same people will tell you that metal's home is in Germany. Germany has several large festivals dedicated to the genre, and has produced some of the best bands ever to pick up a guitar, including the Teutonic Thrash Scene, the only thrash metal movement than can be seen as a legitimate rival to the American scene. Most of the bands from the Teutonic thrash era will explain however, that they may never have found their sound, without the influence of a band from Solingen named Accept.
Accept was originally formed in 1968 by vocalist Udo Dirkschneider and guitarist Michael Wagener under the name Band X and performed at an amateur level for around eight years before being offered a spot on the Rock am Rhein bill. The performance at the festival was impressive and led to the band receiving a record deal shortly after. They released a self-titled album in 1979 but found little success with the record and as a result, guitarist Gerhard Wahl and drummer Frank Friedrich, being replaced by Stefan Kaufmann and Jörg Fischer respectively. Accept would find greater rewards with their next album, "I'm A Rebel" however, resulting in their first televised performance, with even more success coming the next year when the band released, "Breaker," which earned them a spot supporting Judas Priest on their "Point Of Entry" tour. The group began evolving their sound somewhat with their next album, "Restless And Willd," which would prove to have a profound effect on the speed metal genre. More...
German heavy metal legends Accept have entered the albums chart in their native country at number four with their first studio album in fourteen years, "Blood Of The Nations." A message from guitarist Wolf Hoffmann reads as follows:
"This really swept us off our feet! Of course, you dream about being on top of the charts, but this was pretty much out of the question. We tested new waters with our new singer Mark [Tornillo, ex-TT Quick] and emerged as winners! But even more than that, this is the reward for our unique collaboration with our label Nuclear Blast, Brainstorm Music Marketing, and all the others who gave their everything for Accept. But most of all, we want to thank our fans without whom we would be nothing! THANK YOU!"
After debuting their new line up to a sold-out audience in New York this past May and then traveling to Europe for shows in 16 different countries in 80 days (including two shows opening for AC/DC), Germany’s legendary metal band ACCEPT will return to tour the U.S. for the first time in 14 years on a co-headlining tour with King’s X. Their first show will kick-off the eleventh annual ProgPower USA festival in Atlanta.
Guitarist & songwriter Wolf Hoffman checks in about the band’s time in Germany and their upcoming North American trek:
“Believe me, this was boot camp, but we loved every minute of it! Twelve months ago, there was nothing on the horizon that would have made us believe we would be on the stages of the world again as ACCEPT… and here we are! [New lead vocalist] Mark Tornillo inspires us to get it all out in a way we have not been challenged before. We can't wait to be on stage with him!!!! He is the new kid on the block and he is the reason we are back again. It is such a relief, such vitamin shot!!! And if we could, we would never stop!!!”
When asked what has surprised the band the most about their fans, Hoffman responds enthusiastically:
“NO DOUBT ABOUT IT – the biggest surprise is the way they make us feel welcomed. Of course we hoped the fans would be happy to have us back - who would not believe that about their fans? - but, what is happening here, EVERYWHERE we go, is a TOTAL KNOCK-OUT for us. WE HAVE NOT SEEN FANS SO HAPPY IN A LONG, LONG TIME.”

German heavy metal legends Accept has posted their new music video online for the song, "Teutonic Terror." You can check it out below. The song comes from the bands forthcoming new studio album, "Blood Of The Nations," which will be the first to feature new vocalist Mark Tornillo, formerly of TT Quick.
Speaking on the video, director David Blass stated: "We had all of these cool ideas for stories about a post apocalyptic world, hot girls in Mad Max gear and cool visuals and the more we worked it the more we kept coming back to the basics... this is Accept, not Motley Crue, there are people all over the world that have waited years to see this band again, and every second that we cut away to some story that is really just filler anyway, we are missing what is really important. People want to see Wolf Hoffmann shredding his flying V, they want to see new singer Mark Tornillo singing a new Accept song, and they want to see the band ripping into the new track. So I said screw the story, get me some fire, get me some tanks and lets rock it" More...
