Lanni added: "I'm excited to be working with Van Halst. I think their future is really bright! Not only is the band writing some great songs and 'hooky' memorable riffs, but Kami's voice is one of the most unique emotional and evocative voices I've heard in a very long time. The juxtaposition of the band's melodic sensibilities and Kami's quirky singing style will make this project standout from all the other bands.”

Van Halst Releases "Questions" Video

Canadian outfit Van Halst is asking the "Questions" with a new music video emphasizing to viewers a strong message to take action against domestic violence and rape culture. Vocalist Kami Van Halst comments:

"'Questions' is a very important song for us. There is so much victim blaming in our society and we wanted to draw attention to this issue. My sister (Brittney Grabill) and I wrote this song in response to a series of sexual assaults that were happening in our home town.

"We were appalled by the lack of focus on the perpetrator and the questions being asked of the victims such as 'Well what were they doing there in the first place?' We need to stop putting the blame on the victims and shift our focus to preventing these altercations in the first place. People need to understand that violence and abuse towards another person, any person, is not OK." More...
