One week after announcing plans to disband after a 15-year career, metalcore act Underoath is now revealing details for a forthcoming farewell tour. A teaser for the tour is available below.
Fans can connect with and celebrate the band one final time on the forthcoming tour, set to hit nine North American cities starting January 16th. Helping to send Underoath off will be MeWithoutYou, As Cities Burn, and Letlive.
"We're viewing this time as a celebration of the past decade or so as well as a last chance to see and hang out with fans, as well as our friends on the tour," said keyboardist Chris Dudley. "It's the end of an era and we'll be going out on a high note!" More...
Philadelphia's mewithoutYou have posted a new song, "the Fox, the Crow and the Cookie," on their MySpace page. The song is off their upcoming album, "It's all crazy! It's all false! It's all a dream! It's alright," which will be available in stores and online on Tuesday, May 19th.
On the even of their European tour, mewithoutYou has lost the services of bassist Greg Jehanian, who broke his arm while sawing plywood. According to frontman Aaron Weiss, "we've been fixing up our bus a whole bunch and Greg broke his arm cutting some plywood on the table saw (coulda been a lot worse, the wood shot right toward his head and he blocked it with his arm!)."
Former bassist Daniel Pishock will be filling in for the tour.
With cancellations coming fast and furious, mewithoutYou has dropped off the Warped Tour. Like labelmates Underoath, the band is citing exhaustion, among other things:
"We will not be returning to Warped Tour. There are multiple reasons why... First and foremost being the bus... Our bus is currently in the shop getting some much needed TLC. No bus, no touring. Pretty simple math. Also, Aaron is still nursing his throat and will be back good as ever soon enough."
The pattern developing this year seems to be entirely around newer acts in their first or second runs on the tour. Previous cancellations came from Spitalfield, From First to Last, Gatsbys American Dream, He Is Legend and The Fall of Troy.
mewithoutYou have made their new track "Nice And Blue Pt. 2" available online here. It is taken from their new album "Brother, Sister", which will hit stores on September 26th through Tooth & Nail.
UNDEROATH , mewithoutyou, THE CHARIOT and AS CITIES BURN launched the inaugural “Come & Live” mini-tour on Thursday (12/15) to benefit five charities hand-picked by each artist. The sold-out four-city tour raised over $80,000 which will be donated to: Habitat For Humanity, Invisible Children, Teen Challenge, Samaritans Purse and New Jerusalem Ministries. In addition, the bands came together on Wednesday (12/14) in Birmingham, AL to help build two homes for local families in need through Habitat For Humanity.
mewithoutYou will be filming a video for their track "January 1979" with director Shane C. Drake (Hawthorne Heights, The Beautiful Mistake) shortly. In other news, the band have lined up a trek with The Snake The Cross The Crown, Despitado and Owen, dates are as follows: More...
