Improving upon the foundation of technical, neck-snapping death metal they helped build beginning in the late 1980s, IMMOLATION unleashes the seventh chapter in their legendary career, Shadows in the Light. The stunning new effort was recorded at Millbrook Sound Studios with producer Paul Orofino and is set for a May 8th release. A new track, “World Agony,” is now available on their official MySpace page.
Returning with the same lineup as their previous release, Harnessing Ruin, dubbed “the most skull-crushing of their entire necro-rompin’ career” by Revolver Magazine, the group finds itself uncharacteristically stable, allowing for chemistry not present in their formative years. Founding members Dolan and Robert Vigna (guitar) join Bill Taylor (guitar) and Steve Shalaty (drums) to form the group’s most consistently punishing lineup yet.
Robert Vigna (guitars) further describes the new album: "It's aggressive, emotional and haunting. The disc delivers all of IMMOLATION's attributes, as it's catchy as hell, very direct and to the point. The album devastates on all levels, from blasting madness and militant charges to sorrow-filled doom and depression. It is a very complete record with soulful solos, thunderous raging drums and vocals that lash right out at you!"
You can check out a new song from IMMOLATION entitled “World Agony,” off their upcoming new album Shadows In The Light, over at their official MySpace page.
Death metal stalwarts IMMOLATION have wrapped up the recording process for their new full-length album, Shadows In The Light, which is set for an April release via Century Media. The effort was recorded at Millbrook Sound Studios with producer Paul Orofino. Shadows In The Light features the following tracks:
'Hate's Plague', 'Passion Kill', 'World Agony', 'Tarnished', 'The Weight Of Devotion', 'Breathing The Dark',
'Deliverer Of Evil', 'Shadows In The Light', 'Lying With Demons', 'Whispering Death'.

IMMOLATION have completed recording sessions for their 2007 releases. Recorded, mixed and mastered at Millbrook Sound Studios with producer Paul Orofino, the new material is some of their darkest and heaviest yet, while once again providing a very unique sound and style from their past releases.
The EP will be entitled "Hope and Horror" and will contain the following tracks; "Den of Thieves", "The Condemned" and "The Struggle of Hope and Horror". The last track being an epic instrumental, the band's first ever. The EP itself is also a first for IMMOLATION and the band is extremely happy with how it came out. "The three tracks really showcase all of our strongest elements and some new approaches as well. I think people are really going to like it! The EP has it all!", says guitarist Robert Vigna.
Together with the 3 new exclusive tracks will be a DVD of an entire live set recorded last year at BB Kings night club in New York City. "The video work on this is amazing, the sound is raw, but you can make everything out really well. It really gets the live feel like your there!" says bass/vocalist Ross Dolan.
The full length album will be entitled "Shadows in the Light". It will feature the following 10 tracks; "Hate's Plague", "Passion Kill", "World Agony", "Tarnished", "The Weight of Devotion", "Breathing the Dark", "Deliverer of Evil", "Shadows in the Light", "Lying with Demons" and "Whispering Death". A dark twisted ride, "Shadows in the Light" is aggressive, emotional and haunting.

Brazilian death metal machine KRISIUN will co-headline a string of dates in Europe with IMMOLATION and label mates ABORTED in summer, 2007.
"After waiting for more than a year to hit the European stages again, Krisiun is proud to announce it's return for a new tour in May and June, 2007 alongside death metal legends Immolation."
Tour dates to be announced soon.
France's Listenable Records has launched its exclusive YouTube channel at this location. Currently available for viewing on the channel are videos by such artists as IMMOLATION, THE AMENTA, GOJIRA, ABORTED and TEXTURES.
IMMOLATION is fine tuning the tracks for their new upcoming album. They will be entering the studio any day now to start work on their 7th full length CD.
According to a band update, the new material is very aggressive and much more intense than their past work. Songs are shorter, but pack more of a punch; definitely a darker, meaner album. The band is currently holed up at drummer Steve Shalaty’s house in Ohio prepping away. They will be making their way over to Millbrook, NY by the end of the week to meet up with Paul Orofino, the band’s producer for the last four records, at Millbrook Sound Studios.
“We are really excited about the new material. It is really a powerful bunch of songs. They kick you hard right from the start and leave you pummeled by the end!”, says Robert Vigna, one of the band’s original members since their inception. “I think the fans are going to go ape shit when they hear these tracks!”
“The new stuff definitely has a very dark feel, but does not let up on the heaviness or intensity at all”, says Ross Dolan, the band’s lead vocalist/bassist and other original Immolation veteran. “There is a hint of both the last two records, Unholy Cult and Harnessing Ruin, in the new songs, but they are coming from a completely different approach. They are going to knock you on your ass!”
“I’m just glad they gave me more than six days to get the new tracks down before we hit the studio!”, says Steve Shalaty, drummer extraordinaire, the calm playing tornado behind the kit.
Immolation will also be heading out to Amsterdam directly after the studio to play the Arnhem Metal Meeting Festival (on December 9th) with ARCH ENEMY, then they are off to Paris to shoot a new video for the upcoming album.
Listenable Records will be releasing an EP in February, Immolation’s first ever, that will also contain a live DVD, a complete show from one of the band’s most recent performances at BB Kings in New York City. The video was shot by Evil Eye Productions and really captures the feeling of the night. “The way they shot it was great, really cool angles and camera work,…you will feel like you’re in the front row!”
The new full length will be out in April through Century Media and Listenable Records in the US and Europe respectively. Look out for the band to hit Europe for a full length tour in May 2007. As well as some European summer festivals. US dates are sure to follow.
According to Listenable Records, IMMOLATION will play an exclusive show on December 9th at Musis Sacrum in Arnhem, Holland at the Arnhem Metal Meeting festival. Tickets for France, Belgium, and Switzerland will be available at FNAC.com; tickets for Germany will be available at Metaltix.com. Fans in Holland can buy tickets on Ticketmaster.
Immolation are working on the follow up to their 2005 album, Harnessing Ruin. A specially packaged Mini-CD/EP (the band's first ever) will be released in February 2007 featuring exclusive tracks. The band's new full-length album is set to be released in April. Both releases will be recorded in November with producer Paul Oforino in his studios in New York. The track listing has not yet been announced.
As previously reported, Immolation will be touring Europe in 2007 with ABORTED, LENG TCH'E and one more band (TBA) from May 5th to June 5th.
IMMOLATION will embark on a European headlining tour in May 2007. Support on the trek will come from ABORTED (Century Media), LENG TCH'E (Relapse) and one more as-yet-unannounced act. Exact cities and dates will be announced soon.
In the meantime, IMMOLATION have lined up the following upcoming shows:
August 9 - Springfield, VA @ Jaxx
August 10 - New York, NY @ B.B. King Blues Club w/ Sodom
August 11 - Rochester, NY @ The Penny Arcade
TJ Morris of Watchers Entertainment, one of the organizers of the Death In The Forest Festival, set to take place May 20 in upstate New York, has issued the following update regarding the festival's current status:
"First and foremost: Death In The Forest is still on. DITF was never off. We have been in the process of relocating, for a few reasons, which will be addressed shortly.
"Death In The Forest has been moved, less than 20 minutes, to the Catskill Mountain Ranch, located just outside of Wurtsboro, New York, in the town of Mamakating.
"The date is still the same: May 20th, 2006. The times are still the same. We will still have the same brutal bands, and still have the same great vendors. Only the location has changed.
"Catskill Mountain Ranch is literally in the middle of the woods (how perfect) and features a full-service paintball field (bring your own guns, the rentals will surely sell out) a pretty large skate park, and on-grounds camping. With the camping, you can come in the night before, have yourselves a little beer-b-que, see the greatest metal show to hit the tri-state area, and then have another bigger beer-b-que, all for less than the cost of one hotel room.
"As for the people who do have hotel rooms already booked in Middletown: CMR is less than 20 minutes away, and easily located from the middletown, new york area. We have made every attempt to relocate this event to an area within a reasonable distance to the Orange County Fair Grounds, and we feel that a 20-minute drive up the road is reasonable.
"You can Google the Catskill Mountain Ranch to call and book a spot for your tent, RV, or camper. They do have an online reservation feature, but we have been asked not to utilize this, as it is not so reliable.
"Now, as for the relocation. Let me start by saying that yes, in fact, we did feel it necessary to relocate from the OC Fair due to weather. The grounds at the OC Fair have been ill-kept, and only see action once a year for the annual fair. Our stages weigh about as much as a fully loaded semi-trailer, and anyone who knows about trucks knows that they sink in mud. That's not good for a multi-million dollar stage. Additionally, two of the stages would have located outside, so if in the event (and highly probable, in fact) that T-storms did hit the area, as forecasted, we would have had large metal structure swaying in the rain, while the equipment got soaked. not good. A decision had been made, even with the fairgrounds' approval, to relocate the stages. More...
According to their official website, New York's Death in the Forest festival is saved:
"The fest will be now held on top of a mountain - Catskill Mountain Ranch!!. There is camping, skateboarding and even paintball! The fest is saved and it's right up the street (approx. 15+ miles). Thanks for your patience.
538 Mt. Vernon Road • Wurtsboro, NY 12790
New set times will be posted shortly."
TJ Morris of Watchers Entertainment, one of the organizers of the Death In The Forest Festival — set to take place May 20 in Middletown, New York — has issued the following update:
"Due to the inclement weather, death in the forest 2006 will be moved from the Orange County Fair grounds. YES, MOVED FROM THE ORANGE COUNTY FAIR GROUNDS. As we aware that many people will be in the area on May 19th for the 1349/ BELPHEGOR/ TYPHUS/ ENGORGE signing at rock fantasy, and have also made hotel arrangements for the nights of may 19th and 20th in the Middletown area, we are doing everything in our power to relocate to a venue within close proximity of the Orange County Fair Grounds. I realize a great deal of you are probably pissed, thinking to yourself 'WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!' Well, that’s exactly how we feel about this situation as well. However, there has been rain in this area for the last three days, and another five days of rain is forecasted. Even if it dried up by May 20th, the grounds at the OC Fair would not support the weight of our equipment. So, once again, we are going to have to move the fest. We are frantically looking for a venue that is A) Large enough to suppo rt 2/3 stages, B) open to the idea of a black metal / death metal festival, and C) available for the dates of May 19th (setup) May 20th (event) and May 21st (break-down). If anyone OWNS, OR KNOWS SOMEONE WHO OWNS, such a spot in the Middletown, NY area, or in close proximity, please feel free to contact us. We have tried every conceivable venue in the area, and are getting stonewalled. More...
