Marduk has checked in with the following band update about completing the Blackest of the Black tour and announcement about a 20th anniversary box set:
"Marduk has just returned to Sweden after completing the Blackest of the Black Festival - Tour throughout US-territory. Marduk played some legendary shows alongside cult acts like Danzig and Possessed. Undefeated and more intense the band is currently rehearsing to prepare for the upcoming tour which covers the most important venues in Asia. Check the tour schedule below.
"The time has come for Marduk to celebrate 20 wrathful years of blood and iron. 20 years have passed since Marduk started back in 1990 and the band is now going stronger than ever before. We herewith announce that Marduk is celebrating its 20 year anniversary in form of a marvelous box-set which will be released in a strict limited edition in early 2011. In a posting made through the official Toxic Holocaust twitter account the band announced that it, alongside European black metal act Marduk and Possessed, will be playing a free show in Minneapolis.
The show is set to take place at The Cabooze.
The full twitter posting reads:
"Free show with Possessed Toxic holocaust and Marduk in Minneapolis tonight @ the Cabooze !!! FREE!!!!"
Ohio progressive black/death metallers LOCUSTA, who expanded their fan base with a successful US summer tour alongside Tennessee black/doom Argentinum Astrum, will perform two local shows this November opening for the likes of Possessed, Marduk, Withered, and Toxic Holocaust (11/5/10) and D.R.I., Deadsea and Salvage (11/18). Swedish black metallers Marduk are currently readying for their return to the U.S. later this month as part of the "Blackest Of The Black" tour, founded by Danzig front man Glenn Danzig in 2003 as a way to promote extreme bands of his choosing from around the globe. The 2010 edition will officially kick off on October 25th and wind its way through over a dozen cities before making its last stop in mid November. Additional support will be provided by Possessed, Toxic Holocaust and Withered. Marduk will also be doing a handful of headlining shows throughout the tour in Arizona, Oklahoma, Ohio, Iowa, South Dakota, Utah, Nevada and California.

Atlanta's Withered has issued the following statement about appearing on the upcoming "Blackest of the Black" tour with Danzig, Possessed, Marduk, and Toxic Holocaust:

Iconic metal/punk singer-songwriter Danzig has been announced as the headliner of the 2010 "Blackest Of The Black" tour. The "Blackest Of The Black" tour will hit select markets across the United States with support coming from Marduk, Possessed, Toxic Holocaust and Withered.

Marduk is the next act in a long list of bands being confirmed for the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise ship metal festival. 70,000 Tons of Metal will sail on January 24th, 2011 aboard the Royal Caribbean “Majesty of the Seas” from Miami, Florida.

Marduk has issued the following update about postponing the previously announced Central America shows due to travel issues:
"Because of misinformation from one of the airlines involed in Marduks travel to Central America the band got uphold and couldnt get on the connection flight. It was totaly the fault of the airline. Marduk had just completed one of the planned three flights to Costa Rica when the problem occured. There was no time to book new flights to make it in time to do the 3 shows.
"The band and booking agency are currently checking options to rebook the shows as soon as possible. Marduk feels very unfortunate for the situation as the band is eager and burning with devotion to march across Central America. More news to be posted as soon as possible."
The Catholic Church of Costa Rica has criticised the Swedish black metal outfit Marduk for their use of blasphemy and religious iconography. Marduk are scheduled to perform in Costa Rica at the Pepper Disco on July 29th, which will be the band's first concert in the country in seven years.
Mario Segura, Catholic priest and spokesperson for the Curia Metropolitana, said "they should have more respect because they are sacred things", referring to the band's use of religious articles, like an inverted cross in its album cover art. Segura said he considers that this type of music and message cannot encourage any good in Costa Rica's youth.
