Yesterday it was announced that Marduk would be joining Deicide on tour with Carach Angren and Septicflesh, and a tour poster (available below) was released showing Marduk's name.
However Marduk has now stated the band was never confirmed for the tour and will not be appearing. The group's Facebook page was updated with this announcement:
"It has come to our attention that a tour with Deicide and Marduk has been announced. This was unfortunately an error, seeing as we already declined this offer. As to why this was broadcast in the first place we can but speculate, but most likely it’s a case of miscommunication." More...
Second Update: Marduk has now confirmed the band will NOT be playing this tour. Read the statement over here.
Update: There now appears to be some question as to whether Marduk is actually on the tour due to a comment on the band's Facebook profile (check out the screen capture below the tour promo poster).
This coming October, 2014, the death metal veterans in Deicide will be hitting the road for the "In The Minds of Evil" North American trek.
Support on the tour will come from the Swedish black metal masters in Marduk, the Greek symphonic death outfit Septicflesh, and fellow symphonic extreme metal group Carach Angren.
Specific dates and venues are forthcoming (so check back soon!), and the tour promo poster can be seen below.
Septicflesh will be performing in support of newly released opus "Titan" (stream the album here), while Carach Angren is currently working on a new album and Marduk will still be preaching from the 2012 "Serpent Sermon" (reviewed here). More...
Century Media Records is proud to announce reissues of the Marduk albums "La Grande Danse Macabre" (2001) and "World Funeral" (2003), both set for release on June 23rd, 2014 in Europe and June 24th in the US.
Both albums have been out of print for quite a while and will now be released in revamped editions featuring new covers by Maelstrom (vocalist in label mates & Marduk-related act Death Wolf), liner notes, rare photos from the band's archive, and bonus tracks on the CDs / digital albums. Both titles were also remastered by Marduk bassist Devo Andersson. The band comments:
"La Grande Danse Macabre and World Funeral are once again being made available. Since Marduk ended their cooperation with Regain Records, who later went defunct, these titles among others haven't been officially available for quite a while. So, Blooddawn Productions worked closely with its partner Century Media Records to bring back these essential Marduk albums.
"Reinforced and reinvented visually, expanded with liner notes and some rare photos from the band's archive, La Grande Danse Macabre and World Funeral will be unleashed upon mankind again as limited edition vinyl and mid-price CD and digital album. So, make sure you'll get your copy and complete your Marduk arsenal! Enjoy the darkness..." More...
Several bands that were set to attend the 2014 Hell and Heaven Festival have posted online via Facebook that the event is now cancelled. Marduk posted this message online sent from the festival's organizers:
"We first want to apologize about the miscommunication the last few days. It's very sad and painful for us to inform you that for reasons that we don't understand yet and we are pretty sure that you heard about it... The HELL AND HEAVEN METAL FEST 2014 is definitely cancelled.
"We did everything in our hands to avoid this situation but at the end it was impossible to keep going with this project for now.
"Apparently we've been blocked in the entire country to do this amazing festival for political issues and private interests of the big entertainment companies. More...

German thrashers Exumer have been confirmed to appear at this year's Rock Hard Festival in Milan, Italy on September 15th, 2012. Also on the bill for the festival are Danish thrashers Artillery, who have just come off the co-headlining "South American Damnation" tour with Exumer through Argentina, Chile and Brazil.
Exumer's management is now working on on a European installment of the Exumer/Artillery package and are planning additional dates with both bands throughout Europe in September/October 2012.
Vocalist Mem V. Stein comments: "Our 'South American Damnation' tour was such a success for both bands, us and Artillery, that we did not hesitate to ask our management to replicate the package for Europe. This means that we have to put our North American dates, which were planned for the fall, on hold until spring 2013. There were no alternate time frames to bring both bands back out on the road and we didn't want to risk losing the opportunity altogether to bring the package to Europe."
The line-up for the Rock Hard Festival Italia 2012 features among others Marduk (SE), Bulldozer (IT), Artillery (DK), Exumer (DE), and Immolation (US). More...

Marduk has issued the following statement about having the band's appearance in Minsk, Belarus cancelled due to the band being "an affront to Christian values:"
"The Prosecutor General’s Office has banned Swedish black metal band Marduk from playing a show in Minsk, Belarus.
"Pavel Radzivonaw, a departmental head at the Prosecutor General’s Office, told reporters on Monday that Marduk’s concert, scheduled for May 22, would not take place. 'The band preaches Satanism, which has nothing to do with art,' he says. 'This is an affront to Christian values, they preach the ideas of death, of the Third Reich.'
"The other bands that were scheduled to appear with Marduk at the Re:Public club — including Kataklysm and Vader — will be allowed to perform. Radzivonaw warned the show may be stopped if the performances involve violations of laws.
"I wonder who's really pushing for the Third Reich ideas here..."
You can also read the original news story reporting the issue at Naviny.by. In other Marduk news, the band will be releasing new album "Serpent Sermon" on June 5th in North America and in Europe on May 28th, 2012. Check out the recently posted music video of "Souls For Belial" at this location.
