Marduk Show Cancelled After Venue Was Sabotaged

Marduk‘s show at the Life House club in Rzeszow, POL earlier this week was cancelled under rather extraordinary circumstances. While recent reports have alleged two members of the band were found to have purchased Nazi propaganda back in 2016 - which the band have denied - this doesn’t seem to be the controversy that caused the show to be scuttled.

It seems that pressure from the Polish conservative Christian political party PiS was mainly responsible, as they had called for the show to be prohibited earlier for "promoting satanic content." While the venue owner didn’t succumb to public pressure, somebody obviously broke into the venue and stole a water meter and pipe that essentially cut the venue off from having running water the night before the concert.

While the venue ordered portable toilets, washbasins and a fire fighting water tank, local authorities still would not give the venue permission to proceed with the show. Marduk‘s booking agency Massive Music issued the below statement on that matter (translated from Polish):

“Something unusual happened. From the beginning of the announcement of the concert concert in rzeszow, they were on us and the pressure club to cancel this concert. The situation was definitely over yesterday and today. The Club, only today, had police control, fire department, and sanitation. On yesterday’s “unknown” Perp broke into the club, cut out a part of the pipe with wodomierzem, cutting off the club from running water.

On this basis, the health department has halted the activities of the life house club (until it is restored to the current water club) Coincidence? The Club did everything for the concert to take place (he ordered portable toilets, sinks, a fire tank, and even in case a aggregate generator). Unfortunately, the strength of political pressure and offices has proved too large. We regret to cancel tonight’s concert even though the teams are in rzeszow and the stage is ready.

There has never been such pressure in our history, letters from lawyers and control. We were also not able to move the concert to another place, because the checks appeared only today, on the day of the concert, and other clubs in the city did not talk to us or fear the risks.

Purchased collector tickets can be returned at sales points. Tickets from the network network can be returned after a long weekend as soon as the disposition returns.”

Fall Of Summer 2017 Announced

The Fall of Summer team is very pleased to add five new names to its 2017 lineup taking place Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th of September by the Torcy lake, situated 30 kilometres east of Paris. The festival's organizers comment:

"With over 45 years difference between the newest and the oldest band, we have decided to introduce them in chronological order.

"First of all we are very excited to announce two mythical bands formed in the late 60s who have been a big influence for many metal artists for almost half a century. We are glad that the American occult rock band Coven will play their very first show in France at Fall of Summer and thrilled that one of our biggest national prides, the French progressive rock band Magma also joins us this year.

"Coming from the 80's, we're proud to welcome the American cult thrash metal band Morbid Saint who'll play for the first time in France. We're also thrilled that the emblematic Swedish black Metal band Marduk joins forces with us.

"To close this announcement, we invite those who would not know them, to discover Au-Dessus, as those young Lithuanians playing post-black metal since 2014, definitely deserve your attention." More...

Svart Crown Comments On Tour Cancellation

Remaining dates on the Marduk / Svart Crown tour have been cancelled, with Svart Crown having this to say about the situation:

"We are finally coming home. The last part of the Marduk Tour has been cancelled due to logisticals reasons explain below (see the Massive Music statement). From our part this is again a big disappointment. We are really frustrated to finish the Profane Tour with an other cancellation. It seems the curse is still there so we are going to take few weeks to thinks about the band future and will let you know soon as possible. The last think that we would like to share, is that we were really honored to share the stage with one the best black metal entity ever: Marduk. The first part of the tour was amazing , great crowd, good venue and good people. An eternal support to Massive Music (Mariusz, Marta, Darek), our crew Tryf & Max and all the band Cvinger, Bio Cancer and Crest Of Darkness."

Massive Music comments: "Dear friends, We are sorry to announce that due to the breakdown of the nightliner we are forced to cancel the 2nd part of Marduk tour. We were doing our best to fix it and play all shows, but we were unlucky with finding new nightliner in this short time. We are very sorry, because cancellation is always last choice and makes expenses for everybody - booking agency, bands and promoters. We'd like to postponed cancelled shows on Spring 2016."

Marduk also had this to say: "Unfortunately the Marduk tour bus has suffered a complete breakdown on the ongoing march throughout Europe. And despite the booking agency's attempts to solve the problem, including trying to rent a new bus through 9 different bus companies, none of them being able to supply a bus in time to make the rest of the tour happen, Massive Music and Marduk have decided to postpone the remaining dates to spring next year. This is totally out of the bands control, and at this point there is nothing more we can do. But... the dates will be rebooked and Marduk will return!" More...
