Vancouver's Bison b.c. has checked in with a fairly extensive blog recapping the tour with Kylesa, Tombs, Saviours and Red Fang this fall. Here's an exerpt from the blog:
"Sep 11 '09 (Vancouver BC @ Commodore):
I always love kicking off a tour with a show in Vancouver. It's great to have one last chance to get completely loser pissed with our friends before we hit the road for however long. This time we were fortunate enough to finally share the stage with local good 'ol boys The Golers and old pals 3 Inches of Blood. The Golers have been around forever and everyone should fucking hear them. They're basically Vancouver's Venomous Concept: relentless, break-neck speed pummeling. Is grind-punk a genre?
"Show was fucking fun as all hell. It was 3 Inches record release show for 'Here Waits Thy Doom' (which may or may not feature all of us doing back ups on the song 'Preacher's Daughter') and the place was packed! The cap of the Commodore is somewhere between 950 and 1000 and apparently it was like 15 tickets away from being sold out. Jesse from local grinders Zuckuss pointed out how fucking crazy it is that three local bands brought that many metal heads out of the woodwork. The night was bitter sweet though because not only was our good friend Ian unable to be there because of surgery but that night would also be my last chance to ever set foot in local punk/metal institution the Cobalt. I can't even describe how awesome that bar and the staff are. The thought that it's getting shut down by the fucking slum lords that own the building so they can cash in on Olympic fever makes me wanna tear someone's head off. I'm consoled by the fact that i know bar legend/honcho Wendy 13 will soon enough have a new venue i can crawl out of at 5am reeking of jager bombs. COBALT FOREVER!"

Kylesa has issued the following announcement about releasing a vinyl version of their most recent album "Static Tensions:"
"We are currently hard at work on the super ultimate limited deluxe mondo bizarro version of Static Tensions. This thing is gonna come housed in a sturdy custom wooden box with the artwork screen printed onto the cover. It’ll be the 2xLP 45 RPM version on colored vinyl exclusive to the box, and will also include the LP booklet, a special screen printed 12×24 insert, a poster, a turntable slipmat plus some other goodies. Cost is still being determined and we’re not sure when or if we’ll pre-order these. We can tell you it’ll be limited to 150, won’t be available until late November, and will only be available from 20 Buck Spin and the band."
One of the most comprehensive southern metal documentaries ever made is coming in 2010. Appropriately dubbed "Slow Southern Steel," the 80+ minute film is executive produced by Karim Khan (I'm Better Than Everyone Records) and directed by Rwake vocalist CT and David Lipke with the additional and integral assistance of George Hancock, Alix Petrovich and Beer Wolf guitarist Christian Sweeney (who will be releasing a paperback version of the production) among many others.
"Slow Southern Steel" peers into the world of true southern metal/doom through live footage and personal interviews; CT's devout commitment/knowledge/love of the topic at hand bringing the movie to life in a way few first-time directors can. Said CT about the laborious undertaking: "I knew there were things I could get out of these bands that other film makers could not." Added Khan, "There's just something very appealing to me about taking unyielding heavy songs and adding a strong southern element to them."
At press time, the film was still being shot and thus far, featured bands will include (in alphabetical order): A Hanging, ASG, Baron Grod, Beaten Back To Pure, Beer Wolf, Black Skies, Black Tusk, Blackblood Division, Blood Of The Sun, Collapsar, Colossus, Cough, Dark Castle, Deadbird, Dead-I-On, Dixie Witch, Doomsayer, Eyehategod, Flesh Parade, Haarp, Hawg Jaw, HOD, Hope And Suicide, Hostile Apostle, House Of Lightning, In The Lurch, Jucifer, Ketea, Khann, Kylesa, Mala Suerte, Music Hates You, Parasytic, Queen Beast, Royal Thunder, Rwake, Seahag, SeaWitch, Sourvein, Speedealer, Spickle, Suplecs, Subrig Destroyer, The Devil And The Sea, The Dumps, The Roller, The Unbeheld, Vessel Of The Divine, Weedeater, Withered and Zoroaster.
"Slow Southern Steel" will make its debut at the renowned Little Rock Film Festival in May of 2010 (www.littlerockfilmfestival.org) where many of the bands featured will be in attendance. Additional festival previews will follow.
The DVD edition is slated to be released in 2011 via fast-growing, vinyl-only (and now DVD) Chicago imprint, I'm Better Than Everyone Records.

Singer Al Firicano, of the thrash metal band, Ravage, has issued the following update regarding some tour date cancellations:
"Ravage has unfortunately been forced to cancel appearances at The KC Power Fest and the August 18th show at Volume 11 in Raleigh, NC (this show will still be taking place, but without Ravage). Due to issues with the Ravage mobile, we've been forced to wait for repairs to take place in Missouri, so we will be delayed significantly and will have to pick up the tour in Allentown PA on August 20th - that will be the next show. We'd like to sincerely apologize to the fans and promoters for this and we hope to add a Kansas City show and a Raleigh NC show back to the tour before it is all over. Details will be announced when available." More...
