Thin Lizzy Announces North American Tour Dates

Thin Lizzy is set to take the USA by storm with upcoming tour dates in late March and early April. The trek will include stops in Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Toronto, Detroit, and Chicago, and will also include a live appearance on the popular radio show, Rockline, on March 23rd, which will run from 11:30 pm to 1:00 am EST. Thin Lizzy's current line-up includes such "Lynott era" Lizzy veterans as Scott Gorham (guitar), Brian Downey (drums), and Darren Wharton (keyboards), as well as singer/guitarist Ricky Warwick, bassist Marco Mendoza, and Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell.

Thin Lizzy became one of rock's top bands during the 1970's, on the strength of Lynott's poetic yet tough lyrics, and the highly influential dual guitar attack of Gorham and which ever second guitarist he was paired up with at the time (Brian Robertson, the late Gary Moore, Snowy White, or John Sykes). Lizzy split up in 1983, before Lynott passed away in 1986. But with Lizzy being either consistently name checked as an influence or having their songs covered by other bands, the group's stature has remained at the forefront of rock over the years. And now, US fans will be able to experience the Lizzy legend once more on the concert stage.

Here are the confirmed Thin Lizzy tour dates:

03/24/2011 Jim Thorpe, PA. Penn's Peak
03/25/2011 New York, NY. Best Buy Theatre
03/26/2011 Uncasville, CT. Mohegan Sun Casino Wolf's Den
03/27/2011 Sayreville, NJ. Starland Ballroom
03/29/2011 Glenside, PA. Keswick Theatre
03/30/2011 Toronto, ON. Canada Sound Academy
03/31/2011 Detroit, MI. Sound Board at Motor City Casino Hotel

Paul Rodgers Offers Thoughts On Gary Moore

Current Queen member Paul Rodgers has posted the following statement online regarding the passing of legendary guitarist Gary Moore:

"Gary was a friend and a truly great man. I respect that he played the game his way... no time for B.S. He was focused and passionate about music and was one of the best.

"The last time that I jammed with Gary, he came on as my special guest at London's Royal Albert Hall and proceeded to take it to another level... the place imploded! When he played, he was a man on fire.

"If there hadn't been an ocean between us and Gary didn't mind flying, we absolutely would have created more together. We've lost a great British blues man and I am very, very sad."

Therapy? Comments On The Passing Of Gary Moore

Irish hard rock act Therapy? has posted the following statement online in response to the passing of Gary Moore:

"Just heard the very sad news that Gary Moore has passed away. The Belfast-born guitar legend was a big inspiration for myself growing up in Northern Ireland, both for his work with Thin Lizzy and his very successful solo career.

"We had the pleasure of meeting Gary and his band last summer at the Pinkpop Classic festival in Holland. After watching their (killer) show, we were introduced and Gary came over to our dressing room and chatted away to us. He was everything you'd want a hero to be… laid back, modest and very genuine, with a cool sense of humour.

"Our condolences go out to his family, friends and bandmates."
