Devil To Pay Releasing New Album

Ripple Music is thrilled to announce the release of Devil To Pay’s latest collection of paranormal/mind-bending rock, "A Bend Through Time And Space."

Recorded in 2015 by Mike Bridavsky at Russian Recording in Bloomington, Indiana, "A Bend Through Space and Time" picks up where its predecessor left off and further develops Devil To Pay’s songcraft and explorations in heavy, riff-oriented rock and roll.

By now, followers of the band should have already heard "Your Inner Lemmy" – the quartet’s tribute to Motörhead legend Lemmy Kilmister and the first track lifted from this new record.

"A Bend Through Space And Time" will be released on 12th of August 2016 through Ripple Music. Check out the new song "Kerfuffle" below. More...

Devil To Pay Posts Lemmy Tribute Track

Devil To Pay today releases new song "Your Inner Lemmy" in tribute to the Motörhead legend who passed away last month. The track is available for free download at Bandcamp here, and Ripple Music also comments:

"On 28th December 2015, the music world lost a true legend with the passing of Ian 'Lemmy' Kilmister, the long time leader of seminal heavy metal band, Motörhead. Known for his fierce independence and true originality, his spirit has influenced several generations of musicians and music lovers.

"Devil To Pay is one such band that owes a tremendous amount to Lemmy's enduring legacy. Originally inspired by the great man, the Indianapolis quartet have chosen to honour his memory with the free download of new song, ‘Your Inner Lemmy’, taken their forthcoming album A Bend Through Time and Space, due for release later this summer on Ripple Music."

Steve Janiak, singer and guitarist of Devil To Pay, explains, "We initially came up with the riffs in 2013 and they obviously sounded very Motörhead-ish. I named the track 'Your Inner Lemmy' because it felt like we were channelling the rock god. Months later we fleshed out the arrangement and wrote the lyrics; it’s a textbook lesson on everything Lemmy was about to us personally. We initially didn't intend to put it on the record, but the more we played it, the more it spoke to us and after we recorded it, we really hoped that somehow he would end up hearing the song. His unfortunate passing shocked and saddened us all." More...

Auction Held To Benefit Doommantia Founder

Ripple Music is proud to announce the latest in their ongoing series of rare test pressing auctions for charity, this time benefiting the medical needs of Doommantia founder Ed Barnard. The long-running site, Doommantia is one of the leading forces bringing CD Reviews, Interviews, Authorized free downloads and Promotion for bands in the Doom, Stoner, Psychedelic, Drone, Sludge Metal genres. The site also has an active forum for heavy rock maniacs to share ideas and views, creating a solid doom rock community.

For those unaware, Ed had been forced into homeless by a medical condition but still manages to keep the Doommantia site viable online when he can get near a wifi signal. Ed suffered a series of heart attacks that forced Ed to become unemployed. Those events, plus the exorbitant cost of cardiac medications made paying the rent an impossibility and he was evicted from his place in Aberdeen, Washington. Now homeless, the doom and metal community has been rallying around his cause with benefit concerts and a compilation of 39 heavy bands that all donated their music to help Ed's cause. Ed just turned 50, and recently had to live in a storage locker for one month, which is inhumane for a man with a heart condition, or anyone for that matter. The compilation, Doommantia Vol. 1, is available here.

Now Ripple Music offers their assistance to help a musical brother in need. After establishing an ongoing company policy of giving back to the community, Ripple Music has auctioned off some of their rarest test pressings to help the BP Spill Gulf Clean Up, Wounded Warriors, Sloan-Kettering Cancer Research, and Joplin Missouri Tornado Relief, amongst others. The auction of the extremely rare test press for Devil To Pay's "Fate is Your Muse" will continue that tradition, offering heavy rock/doom fans a chance to get one of only two test-pressings ever to be released to the public.

"Fate is Your Muse" was unleashed upon an eagerly-waiting audience, April 9th, 2013 and immediately garnered critical rave reviews, leading Shakefire.com to boast, "If you love Rock music, you have to check out Fate is your Muse and Devil to Pay. If these guys aren't rock legends already, they will be for sure soon." The "Fate is Your Muse" Rare Test Press Auction is live on eBay at this location. 100% of proceeds from the auction will be used to help help Mr. Barnard regain his self-sufficiency. Don't miss this chance to own a unique Doom Collectible LP and support the heavy rock community. More...

Devil To Pay Putting Final Touches On New Album

Indianapolis-based Devil To Pay is in the process of putting the final touches on a fourth album and looking at a March 2013 release. The following press release was issued about the album:

"The new album, tentatively titled 'Fate is your Muse,' is a collection of hard hitting metaphysical introspection after vocalist-guitarist Steve Janiak’s self-described ‘epiphany’ in 2011. With topics ranging from reincarnation, quantum physics, alternate universes, the illusion of time, and the mystery of consciousness itself, each song is like a window with a different view on reality.

"Fusing monstrous Sabbath-like riffs with memorable melodies and intricate instrumental textures, the album takes Devil To Pay to untold levels of musical and lyrical growth. Tracking began late this summer at Azmyth Studios with Ryan Adkins at the helm, getting the levels just right. The final mixes were turned in to rock n’ roll preservationist Tony Reed, at HeavyHead Studios, for final mastering. More...

Devil To Pay Signs With Ripple Music

Ripple Music is proud to announce the signing of American doom rockers Devil to Pay. The label commented:

"The band’s fourth, as of yet untitled, album is set for worldwide release on Ripple Music in the coming months and the band will subsequently tour to knock the crowds out of their skulls, including appearances in all the major heavy rock/doom festivals.

"Devil To Pay was formed in the beginning of the millennia as a doom rock band with metal/stoner and rock tangents, effortlessly crushing skulls while simultaneously coaxing them to sing along. The band hails the almighty riff, but unlike many of their contemporaries, the song is still king. That is what separates the great bands from the shoulda & coulda bands. Now celebrating their 10th year anniversary, Devil To Pay has aged like Kentucky bourbon, distilling a culmination of years of sweat, highway miles, cigarette smoke and hangovers into crushing compositions and bone-jarring, heavy musical moments.

"With a catalog of underground releases, Devil To Pay gained accolades, awards and a hard earned cult-like status. They have established themselves as the go-to band for those searching out more than just a few killer riffs; a foundation of heavy that will flourish under the Ripple banner."

Devil to Pay commented on the new alliance: “We are stoked to be a part of the Ripple family and to work with one of the most genuine heavy rock labels in the world! Having released our first three albums independently, it’s clear that these guys don't compromise in terms of putting out creative music and are the true believers of heavy rock. The variety of bands and the sheer quality of music they’ve released speaks for itself. We are very much honored that our music earned its place among their ranks!"
