The Gates of Slumber, which recently had to cancel its planned Roadburn appearance due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland, has now issued the following statement about canceling more upcoming European dates:
"Regrettably due to the situation with the volcanic eruption that is taking place in Iceland, TGoS will have to cancel out the remainder of our main land European tour for this week coming up. We are extremely sorry to do so but this is something that is totally out of our control. Right now we are focusing our attention to arrive in London by the weeks end to make the Cathedral/Church of Misery tour and as of right now, our flights are booked. Lets hope that it stays that way. We have every intention to make the Europa dates up, hopefully by the end of this summer and once we have it set in stone, we will let you all know. Once again, we are extremely sorry for canceling and by CROM, To the gods of the four winds, be damned!"
Bassist Jason McCash of The Gates of Slumber has issued the following announcement about the band canceling their Roadburn appearance:
"With an extremely heavy heart, it saddens me to report that TGoS will not be able to make it to Roadburn on Saturday due to the volcano eruption in Iceland. We tried everything in our powers to try and make a flight that would get us there in time, even looking at flights to Poland, Czeck Republic, France and Germany but nothing was a go in time.
"As of right now, we have flights that will let us make our first date of our Mainland Euro tour which starts the day after Roadburn but this still depends on what happens over the next 36 hours and if they keep canceling flights into Europe or not. Again, We are extremely sorry for this as this is completely 100% out of our control but with any kind of luck, Roadburn will be the only cancellation of this tour. Please keep watching this space for further updates on what takes place."
