ProgPower UK Cancelled

This year's ProgPower UK, which was scheduled for March 28-29 in Bristol, England, has been cancelled. The following message has been posted on wwwww.progpoweruk.com:

"This is the hardest decision we have ever had to make, but it is with great regret that we have had to cancel ProgPower UK III.

"We have made no secret of the financial difficulties that have dogged our first two years, which is why we made a significant number of changes for year three. However, ticket sales have been extremely poor and, as a result, there is no way we can stage the festival without losing a substantial amount of money – again.

"This decision has not been taken lightly and we are fully aware of both the disappointment and inconvenience it will cause. However, we simply cannot afford to keep pumping money into ProgPower UK and we can assure you that we are as disappointed about this as you no doubt are.

"As a result of this, ProgPower UK LLP will cease trading with immediate effect.

"Ticket holders who purchased tickets via cheque or Paypal through the ProgPowerUK website will be refunded by the method through which the tickets were purchased. This will be done within twenty-eight days.

"If you purchased tickets at Bristol Ticket Shop, please contact them directly for a refund.

"Please direct any enquiries to enquiries@progpoweruk.com All enquiries will be dealt with, but please be patient.

"We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us over the past three years, and also thank Rene Janssen and his team giving us the opportunity to make ProgPower UK a reality.

"The ProgPower UK Team"

The following bands were scheduled to perform at ProgPower UK:

Andromeda
Brainstorm
Circus Maximus
Diablo Swing Orchestra
Evergrey
Serenity

Dark Balance Sign Thy Majestie and Boltdown

Dark Balance announce welcome the THY MAJESTIE and BOLTDOWN to their label with the following press release:

"Italian classic power metal act THY MAJESTIE and upcoming death/trash act BOLTDOWN of the UK signed with Dark Balance."

"The 4th full length album of THY MAJESTIE will hit the stores at the beginning of June 2008. Fans of THY MAJESTIE can expect some musical changes compared to their previous discs ‘Jeanne ‘D Arc’ and ‘Hastings 1066’, still it will be very much the sound of THY MAJESTIE, according to the words of Dario Cascio. “The band went through harsh times lately, especially with the loss of Giuseppe Bondì on the keyboards, but they say that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and in fact we feel we have grown up a lot through this past year! The songs we chose to include on the forthcoming album are 8 BOMBS, we are terribly excited about them and we’re confident that the next one is gonna be the best Thy Majestie release so far!”.
If you can’t wait until the release of the album, you might get the chance during one of the live shows of THY MAJESTIE before the release to hear some of the new material. So far THY MAJESTIE is confirmed for the UK Prog Power edition in March 2008, besides this they will come to Finland, Holland, Germany and Switzerland for sure. Just keep an eye on their tour dates here and you will be informed about this soon!" More...

Thy Majestie Announce New Lineup

Italian "symphonic power epic" metal band THY MAJESTIE has announced the addition of Dario Cascio (vocals) and Simone Campione (guitar) to the group's ranks. "We are so pleased to have them in our team!" the band writes on its web site. "They brought us life and new enthusiasm. They are officially in the band. We look forward to starting working on the new album!"

Check out videos of the new THY MAJESTIE lineup performing the songs "The Chosen", "The King and the Warrior" and "Echoes of War" at the Fear Dark festivals in Holland earlier in the month at this location.

THY MAJESTIE parted ways with vocalist Dario Grillo a couple of months ago due to personal differences. "It was a mistake to believe that with Dario Grillo the things might have run easily," the band stated at the time. "We already got it four years ago when there was some communication problem. And so it was after a hard struggle to make his mind up about our gigs in Holland we decided to leave him with his troubles that may have thwarted the smooth running of our work. Good luck to Dario. This time we're sure we won't get any relationship anymore."

Thy Majestie Part Ways With Singer and Guitarist

Italian symphonic power metal act THY MAJESTIE have issued the following update:

"All right folks, after a little break and some day to think, the time has come to explain how our situation is at the moment. A few days ago some news about the split with Dario Grillo (vocals) was issued. We want to say that it is not correct to publish such news without hearing our word, in as much as there was none about that in our website!!! As they were amateur webzines we chose not to pay any attention."

"Let’s get to the point: after eight years with Thy Majestie, three recorded CDs, much sacrifice and time together Giovanni Santini (guitar) has left the band. We won’t explain his reasons, though if he would like he could reply by sending us an e-mail that will be shown in this site. We are sorry for that and we wish Giovanni all the best. Thank you Giovanni." More...
