Relapse Records has announced the details for its 2008 South by Southwest (SXSW) label showcase. This showcase, the label's tenth consecutive at SXSW, will be held at Emo's Annex (600 Red River Street) on Thursday, March 13th and will be open to the public as well as SXSW badge-holders.
This year's line-up includes High On Fire (Oakland, CA), Genghis Tron (Philadelphia, PA), Coliseum (Louisville, KY), Vverevvolf Grehv (Omaha, NE), special guests Municipal Waste (Richmond, VA), and Austin's own Mala Suerte. Running order and show times are forthcoming.

"They say that there's no rest for the wicked and MUNICIPAL WASTE is as wicked as they come. As soon as they return from their European tour, it's right back on the road for the master thrashers. This year will mark the tenth anniversary of the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, the largest and most successful metal festival in the United States.
This year’s show, presented by ESP, Randall, EMG, and exclusive magazine presenter Metal Maniacs Magazine, will take place the weekend of April 25-27 at the Palladium in Worcester, Mass., its home since its inception. Sumerian Records will sponsor the “Summer Slaughter Tour” second stage.
The New England Metal and Hardcore Festival will present Gigantour featuring Megadeth, In Flames, Children of Bodom, Job for a Cowboy and High on Fire on Friday night. Saturday will be headlined by Dimmu Borgir, Shadows Fall, and Behemoth. Ministry, Meshuggah, and Nevermore will close out the festival on Sunday night.

Seregon are continuing to gig in support of their debut EP "Kingdom Of The Blind" which, although being sold independently by the bands own website and at shows, has been receiving massive critical acclaim. Earache Records report that after a storming succession of dates across the globe this year, Virginian thrashers MUNICIPAL WASTE have announced a string of European tour dates for February next year.

BARONESS has kicked-off an Eastern U.S. tour in support of their first full-length and Relapse debut, Red Album. This Decibel Magazine sponsored tour began in the band's hometown of Savannah, GA on September 19 and is currently working its way through the Central Eastern states and along the East Coast.

Fresh off a string of dates with underground black metallers Nachtmystium, Athens, OH thrashers SKELETONWITCH have now finalized touring plans alongside Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust and local support. Trekking across the East Coast and through the Midwest, the tour will run through late September and early October before SKELETONWITCH returns home and heading back out on the road.
Currently supporting the forthcoming Prosthetic Records debut, "Beyond The Permafrost," two tracks from the record are available on the band's MySpace page. Featuring artwork from John Baizley (Pig Destroyer, Darkest Hour, Baroness) and recorded with Cory Smoot (GWAR, Municipal Waste), "Beyond The Permafrost" features a handful of new songs alongside a few Skeletonwitch favorites from the band's two self-released records. It's old thrash versus new thrash this weekend when bassist Landphil of thrashtastic party band MUNICIPAL WASTE meets bassist and vocalist Phil Rind of classic thrashers SACRED REICH for a tête-à-tête while taking over "Breakfast at Talita's" this Sunday, August 19 on www.totalrock.com. Richmond, Virginia thrash monsters MUNICIPAL WASTE will be IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson's guests on Friday, August 24 during Bruce's weekly BBC 6 Music radio show, aptly named "The Bruce Dickinson Friday Rock Show". MUNICIPAL WASTE's new album, "The Art of Partying", was released in the U.S. on July 31.
The band recently joined together with Troma Entertainment to complete a music video for "Headbanger Face Rip", one of the many blistering tracks featured on "The Art of Partying".
U.S. crossover thrashers MUNICIPAL WASTE have expressed their excitement about playing this weekend's Wacken Open Air festival. The group is touring in support of its recent release "The Art of Partying", which is due in the U.S. on July 31.
Commented bassist LandPhil: "I don't think there could be anything more exciting than getting the honour of playing Wacken fest next weekend, it has been a dream of mine ever since I started playing metal! I am stoked to be sharing the stage with CANNIBAL CORPSE and IMMORTAL, among many other great bands. I know that I am going to be running around like crazy trying to see every band playing that day!"
The touring frenzy is due to hit the U.K. next week before the band embarks on show-stopping performances at this summer's Reading and Leeds festivals, delivering their mix of beer-bong, boogie-board, thrash-induced anthems.
