Taco Bell continues to "Feed the Beat" for up-and-coming rock acts and announced today the 100 bands that made the 2009 Feed the Beat lineup. Celebrating its fourth year, Feed the Beat provides free food and marketing support to America’s up-and-coming rock acts. This year, touring bands from across the nation, including The All-American Rejects, The Acacia Strain, Municipal Waste, Atreyu, Owl City, Dr. Dog, and more, will receive $500 in Taco Bell Bucks. More than just free food, bands also receive marketing support for their music.
Music fans will be able to discover each Feed the Beat band on Taco Bell’s Virtual Music Festival Web site, which showcases their music and exclusive content created for the site. Once there, fans can listen to bands they know or discover new tunes as they stream music via the Feed the Beat Music Player.
“Feed the Beat began as a simple way to show how much we love and support independent music, but it’s grown to become a benchmark for how Taco Bell supports bands and artists,” said David Ovens, Chief Marketing Officer, Taco Bell Corp. “Our Feed the Beat bands have been showcased via our partnerships with MTV and ESPN, as we work hard to highlight their talent and music. Whether helping to extend the spotlight on their nominations for Video Music Awards, getting them to play at the VMAs, or creating live concerts and soundtrack opportunities during the X Games, the work never stops in support of our bands. We want to help our 2009 lineup to realize at least the same type of success and hopefully more.”
Taco Bell is proud to congratulate all of the 2009 Feed the Beat bands: More...

Tony, vocalist for Municipal Waste, checked in to talk about their last tour with Lamb of God and the upcoming Scion Rock Fest with Trap Them.
"Greetings! Tony here checking in from Richmond to let you know what's new with the MUNICIPAL WASTE camp. We just got back in town 2 weeks ago from our 6 week long tour with Lamb of God. The tour was so much fun and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people for coming out and supporting us as well as the bands on the tour for making it such a good time. We
made some great friends and did a lot of "time traveling" with them across the country.
We have a lot of exciting stuff planned this summer and the first thing we have up to bat is a Scion-sponsored show in L.A. on June 10th. We are really looking forward to playing a headlining show and to get our new songs out there to people. We are really fired up about this gig and plan to "go big" on this one so DON'T MISS IT! You will not be disappointed."

Lamb of God is on tour for their seventh studio release, “Wrath,” and they’ve brought along friends that aren’t unknown in the metal community. The tour is only about two months long so catch it if you can. I personally had to drive two hours westward to see the show in Lafayette, Louisiana. But the venue chosen in Lafayette was perfect; it is a medium-sized arena I used to see rodeos in as a child (Lafayette is my hometown.) In New Orleans, we have small bars or sports arenas. In Lafayette, walking into the show was like entering another world like I have never experienced. It was a pitch-blackness with a large stage at the very far end that seemed like the end of the world; the light at the end of a tunnel. Before the show even started, kids were lying next to piles of beer puke on the stone floor. You know it’s going to be a good show. More...

Orlando's No Friends has issued the following update on their MySpace page:
"So we just got our masters back today for the first No Friends record and we're happy to announce that it sounds totally badass. We're also stoked to say that our friends at No Idea Records are just as happy with it as we are and are going to be releasing it for us. We decided it was a good time to post a new song so you can come sing along when Tony gets back from tour and we can play some shows. It's called 'Never Ending Fight' and it shreds." More...
