"As of right now The Waste is cutting back on touring as much as we normally do for this summer, but when we were offered to play both Fluff Fest and Sonisphere we couldn't pass on this opportunity. Even though both festivals are completely different from each other, we feel The Waste fits perfectly with both and we can't wait to trash these places! There's a lot of great cities we're hitting up on this short run as well. Can't wait!
"I'm really pumped about Sonisphere because it's going to be my first time seeing IRON MAIDEN! I've been waiting for this moment since I was a kid. From what I'm told, we get to play the party tent right after they play. It's going to be so much fun!"

Ryan Waste, guitarist of crossover thrash metal band Municipal Waste, has announced that he has formed a new band entitled Volture, which will be more in the vein of bands such as Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate and Heavy Load. A statement from Ryan Waste reads as follows:
"Ever since I was a young headbanger, I dreamed of doing a real heavy metal band. Growing up on Judas Priest and eventually delving into more obscure NWOBHM bands, I yearned to have one of my own. It wasn’t until 8 years ago when I met our vocalist, Brent Hubbard, that I thought this would actually be possible. His natural singing ability floored me upon the first note and I knew we needed to start a band. It’s been a long time coming, but I am proud to say we have arrived in full force to shock the world with Volture! In this heavy metal ensemble, I returned to my musical roots as a bass player along side the phenomenal shredder Nick Poulos on guitar. Joined by veteran Barry Cover behind the kit, we are now stronger than ever."

Municipal Waste are currently out on the road on the “Waste the World" tour and they performed on Thursday, November 19th at the Key Club in Los Angeles, CA. The Key Club is the home of the band Steel Panther, and they have a rig that allows the bass player to fly over the crowd. Bassist Land Phil had known about this and he wanted to take to the skies. Here is what Phil had to say about the experience:
"We had seen a band called Steel Panther at the Key Club do this stunt before and since they play there every Monday I figured that they had the rig set up all the time. When we arrived at the venue I was right! After asking the stage manager if it was ok we began rehearsing the spot, I think I went up in the air about 3 times before the doors opened. When the show started I was looking at the set list counting down the songs getting more and more nervous about it, When I was hanging over the audience ( probably about 20 ft. in the air ) I remember thinking These WASTE fans are really getting their money’s worth eh? Ha ha! When I landed Dave clicked in sadistic magician and the rest was history!”
Taco Bell continues to "Feed the Beat" for up-and-coming rock acts and announced today the 100 bands that made the 2009 Feed the Beat lineup. Celebrating its fourth year, Feed the Beat provides free food and marketing support to America’s up-and-coming rock acts. This year, touring bands from across the nation, including The All-American Rejects, The Acacia Strain, Municipal Waste, Atreyu, Owl City, Dr. Dog, and more, will receive $500 in Taco Bell Bucks. More than just free food, bands also receive marketing support for their music.

Once there, fans can listen to bands they know or discover new tunes as they stream music via the Feed the Beat Music Player.
“Feed the Beat began as a simple way to show how much we love and support independent music, but it’s grown to become a benchmark for how Taco Bell supports bands and artists,” said David Ovens, Chief Marketing Officer, Taco Bell Corp. “Our Feed the Beat bands have been showcased via our partnerships with MTV and ESPN, as we work hard to highlight their talent and music. Whether helping to extend the spotlight on their nominations for Video Music Awards, getting them to play at the VMAs, or creating live concerts and soundtrack opportunities during the X Games, the work never stops in support of our bands. We want to help our 2009 lineup to realize at least the same type of success and hopefully more.”
