Latest Wednesday 13 News
Below is our complete Wednesday 13 news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Note: We began associating news directly with bands in late 2003. Therefore, earlier band news may not be listed on this page.
Former MURDERDOLLS singer Wednesday 13 has posted the following question-and-answer session on his MySpace page:
Q: Why did you change band members from "Transylvania" to "Fang Bang"?
Wednesday: It was a decision that I made early in 2006. Two of the other guys had projects they were working on that was becoming a priority over W13 the band. In the winter of 2005 we were getting some great offers to play shows, but the guys weren't always available. It seemed like it would become a conflict later on when "Fang Bang" came out and when it came to touring. It also wouldn't be fair to the fans that everytime they showed up to a show, I had a different band member. I didn't want to be the guy that made the band members choose between W13 and their dreams. It wasn't a decision out of anger, or not being friends, it was just the best decision to make due to the circumstances. I wish them all the best!!!!
Q: FRANKENSTEIN DRAG QUEENS?? Reunion?? Albums??
Wednesday: Well, it was quick and gone right away. We got together for a few shows locally in 2005 and had plans to do more things in the future. It was a bit premature, it was a lot of fun, but it should've, would've, could've been out of control, and over the top...but it wasn't. There was no person to blame for it, it just wasn't the right time I guess. During that time the box set was being put together and I became more busy and involved with W13 stuff (which is and will always be the priority) and it just sorta fell to the side. Will there ever be a full reunion/tour??? Good question, but it looks pretty unlikey. FDQ...was a big, big part of my past and I'm very proud of it!!! Even though it looked promising to see the light of day again...I would say at this time it's very much just a memory.
Wednesday: The idea that MURDERDOLLS would reunite and record has been floating around like a ghost for almost five years now. I can't say no it won't ever happen because I'm not a psychic. I would like to think there is a possibility someday, but who knows? We all have moved on since those days and grew away from it but I know deep down inside we all think sometime... "Hey, what if we did one more?"
Caroline Records' Finnish five piece, raucous rockers The 69 Eyes, are bringing even more material from their album, ANGELS, to the American masses. The band touched down in the USA with Cradle of Filth earlier this year, have dominated Europe and now are set to return to the states.
The 69 Eyes - Jyrki 69 (Vocals), Bazie (Guitar), Timo-Timo (Guitar), Archzie (Bass) and Jussi 69 (Drums) - also known as the Helsinki Vampires, infuse a gothic vibe and an edginess to some stunning Sunset Strip rock.
The 69 Eyes will be hitting the road with Wednesday 13, Night Kills The Day and Fair To Midland. The tour dates are as follows: More...

A video clip of ROB ZOMBIE's live performance of the track "American Witch" on CBS' "Late Night Show with David Letterman" — which was taped Wednesday afternoon (May 24) for broadcast later that night — has been posted online at YouTube.com. The appearance marked ZOMBIE's live debut with new bassist Matt Montgomery (a.k.a. Piggy D.; ex-AMEN/WEDNESDAY 13), who joined the group as the replacement for the recently departed Rob "Blasko" Nicholson (also ex-CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER). Rob Nicholson left Zombie earlier in the month in order to join OZZY OSBOURNE's recording/touring band.
Zombie will be teaming up with ANTHRAX for the "American Witch Across America" tour beginning on June 30 in El Paso, Texas. Rob is also expected to be joining GODSMACK on tour as a co-headliner this fall.
"Educated Horses", Zombie's third solo album, has sold 270,000 copies in the U.S. since being released on March 28.
"The Haunted World of Superbeasto", an animated film based on Zombie's El Superbeasto comic book character, will be out later this year. The rocker-turned-filmmaker is also working on the script for his third live-action feature.

Marilyn Manson, The Prodigy, Slayer and System of a Down are some of the music bands to perform in the festival Festimad 2005, to be held in Cantueña de Fuenlabrada (Madrid) on May 27 and 28. This edition will host the "heaviest" concerts it has ever sheltered.
The organisers expect this year near 60,000 people will attend the event, 20,000 more than in 2004. Furthermore, there will be many novelties in this edition, from a completely new headquarters to running-water WC's and hot-water showers.
Another of the novelties is that instead of a main stage and another smaller, both of them will have the same size one by the other. This nearness will allow a greater comfort for the audience to move from one stage to the other.
According to the organisers, the camping site will be much bigger and "closer from concerts, with a supermarket and food street stalls."
The Friday 27 programme will host Marilyn Manson's new show, as well as the bands Nightwish, The Hives, Wednesday 13 and Muletrain. The heavy metal Californian band Slayer will also perform on that day at the other stage, together with Turbonegro, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Skizoo and Legen Beltza.
The Prodigy will play on the first stage on Saturday 28 with Incubus, Hermano, Mondo Generator and The Eighties Matchbox B-line Disaster. System of a Down, one of the most creative bands on the North-American hard rock scene will share the stage on Saturday with Fu Manchu, Clutch, Five Horse Johnson and Hamlet.
Wednesday 13 will be Alice Cooper's guest on his radio show "Nights With Alice Cooper". The show is a classic rock format and is nationally syndicated on the United Stations network. The show will tape on 4/29 and air on 5/3 (times will differ, so make sure to check out www.nightswithalicecooper.com for more info).
In the meantime, you can check out a recent interview with Wednesday 13 online at Washington Examiner, and speak of the devil, Alice Cooper is mentioned in the piece.
Wednesday 13 video for "I Walked With A Zombie" has been posted online. Just follow the links:
You can also check out the video and more tracks from the upcoming "Transylvania 90210" release online via the ecard.
"Transylvania 90210" in stores Wednesday the 13th of April.
Measuring in at 19 inches long / 8.5 inches wide, and crafted carefully in a demon sweatshop just outside the 9th circle of hell, Wednesday 13's hand puppet will be available later this month. For more information, click here.
Also coming later this month, the Wednesday 13 "I Walked With A Zombie" video. An ecard featuring more music from Wednesday's upcoming "Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying and the Dead" will be in stores Wednesday the 13th of April.
Wednesday 13 and company (Ghastly, Kid Kid, and Pig) recently returned from Los Angeles were they completed filming the video for the first single "I Walked With A Zombie." In fact, the first cut of it arrived at Roadrunner yesterday (2/03). As it stands now, it looks great (fact, not opinion). Just a couple minor changes needed, and it will be ready to go. Final cut should be in sometime next week.
As for the shoot itself, Wednesday 13 had the following to say:
This was the easiest video shoot I've been a part of so far...but it was also the weirdest, too. We shot everything on green screen so that was really odd, but it will all make sense in the end. The concept puts the band in the classic horror film Night Of The Living Dead. We are interacting with the characters in the movie as well as performing in a graveyard and inside the house. It should be entertaining and funny to say the least.
Wednesday 13 "Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying and the Dead" coming this April.
In the spirit of the holiday season, Wednsday 13 has released a holiday e-card, featuring the song "Buried by Christmas." To watch the e-card click here.
The song is from the forthcoming solo debut "Transylvania 90210 - Songs About Death, Dying and the Dead" coming in early 2005
Yesterday (12/01), as news of the Murderdolls' debut release going silver in the UK was announced, frontman Wednesday 13 was at the Roadrunner NY office going over plans for his upcoming solo debut (evidenced by this photo).
That being said, it is official - "Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls" has turned silver in the UK (meaning it has shipped over 60,000 units).
Next up, "Transylvania 90210 - Songs of Death, Dying and the Dead," Wednesday 13's solo project. Coming early 2005.
WEDNESDAY 13 , of MURDERDOLLS fame, has signed to Roadrunner Records as a solo artist and will be unleashing TRANSYLVANIA 90210 – SONGS OF DEATH, DYING AND THE DEAD on the label in early 2005. The band, currently comprised of Wednesday on vocals/guitar, Ghastly on drums, Kid Kid on bass and Pig on guitar will begin touring in short order in the UK. They plan to storm the US sometime in early 2005.
WEDNESDAY 13's new album reaches new heights in Horror-Core. "I'm really happy that Roadrunner has decided to get behind me on this record,” says Wednesday. “I think after the Murderdolls album we now have a better idea of how to push this release. This album is just a natural progression for me. Does it sound like MURDERDOLLS or (Wednesday’s pre-MURDERDOLLS band) FRANKENSTEIN DRAG QUEENS? Yes, and No. I did some things different from how Murderdolls would, but its still the same voice. And I hate when people use the word mature, in describing how they have progressed from one album to the other. I'm still just the same guy obsessed with horror movies, cartoons, and death.”
The tracklisting for the release is below: More...
