Archer Confirmed For Sweden Rock Festival
Archer has performed with some of the biggest names in rock including, Heaven and Hell, Heart and Sevendust. The band is looking forward to sharing the stage at the Sweden Rock Festival (www.swedenrock.com) this summer alongside such metal giants as Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Poison, RATT, Triumph, Saxon, Disturbed and many more as they return to Europe.
The Santa Cruz, CA-based power trio, who won "Best Local Band 2008" in the Metro Santa Cruz Goldies Awards, takes the stage on Saturday, June 7th, opening for some of the biggest names in the metal music genre. The Sweden Rock Festival is held in Norjeboke, in the tiny village of Norje which is situated in Sölvesborg in the western part of southern Sweden.
Archer’s debut album "Doom$day Profit$" is a "genuine tour-de-force, rich with powerful songs imbued with that essential combination of brain-burrowing melodies, ripping riffs, pulsing basslines, tsunami drums and grab-by-the-throat vocals." The band cites influences that include Ozzy and Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica and other legendary names.

Danish metallers VOLBEAT have released the following statement:
"As you all could read on various websites, VOLBEAT were invited to be part of the IN FLAMES European tour this fall."
"It was a great honor to be asked to share stage with these guys. We are very thankful but in the last days we decided not to do this tour, 'cause of different terms/teasons which not benefits the band the right way."
"We know that is was a great opportunity, but we felt like we need to do it on our own and not on terms of other people. We need to promote the upcoming record in the best way for us right now. Volbeat To Enter Studio This Month
Danish metallers VOLBEAT will enter the Jacob Hansen studio in Ribe, Denmark on March 31 to begin recording their third album, due late summer via Holland's Mascot Records.
Commented VOLBEAT frontman Michael Poulsen: "We are really looking forward to enter the studio again and work with producer Jacob Hansen. We have 14 new songs, one is a cover song from SOCIAL DISTORTION which will be on the Danish limited version. There will be other surprises on the CD, which we will reveal later. Many of the songs are linked together in a kind of concept, which also ties to the album title, but more about that later. We have worked very hard and [stayed] focused to find the right 14 tracks out of 28 songs. The CD will be released early September 2008."
VOLBEAT's chart-breaking (in Denmark) second album, "Rock The Rebel / Metal The Devil", will be released in the U.S. on June 10. The LP was certified platinum in Denmark for sales in excess of 30,000 copies. According to the band, this marks the first time a Danish metal album has sold platinum in Denmark.

OBITUARY recently shot a video for the song "Evil Ways" with comic book stalwart and director Hart D. Fisher.
"Evil Ways" is the lead single from OBITUARY's new album, "Xecutioner's Return", which was released in North America on August 28 via Candlelight Records. The CD was mixed at Redroom Recorders and was mastered in June at Morrisound Studios in Tampa. The band once again worked with artist Andreas Marschall, who has previously created the art for "The End Complete" and the group's last record, "Frozen in Time".

Volbeat Set New Release Date For DVD
2007 was an amazing year for Copenhagen-based metallers VOLBEAT.
The album Rock The Rebel/Metal The Devil reached platinum status in homeland Denmark, the band supported METALLICA and played a lot of festivals and two sold out tours in Europe. During the tours and festivals the band was filmed on stage and backstage.
The material will be featured on the DVD Live: Sold Out!, to be released February 22nd by Mascot Records.
Pre-orders for the DVD will be accepted as of January 1st at this location.
