BANNED in Australia, New Zealand & Korea. BANNED from performing any material off their first three albums in Germany, where the sale of "Butchered At Birth" is outlawed completely!

It has been 16 years since a small band out of Buffalo, New York released their gorified Metal Blade Records debut "Eaten Back to Life," and in their decade+ existence, Cannibal Corpse have accomplished much more than getting their music and concerts banned. Cannibal Corpse have been repeatedly targeted by the morality police (Gore, PMRC, Lieberman, Dole), appeared in a blockbuster Hollywood feature film (Ace Venture: Pet Detective), debuted as the only Death Metal band to rank on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart, graced the covers of virtually every Metal magazine in the world, toured the globe routinely and sold millions of records. All of this with zero commercial radio airplay and no exposure from MTV, save the periodic obligatory controversial news segment. On February 26th, 2002, "Gore Obsessed," the band's eighth full-length studio album, will redefine the Death Metal genre and reign as Cannibal Corpse's most accomplished and scrutinized recording to date. While not infringing on their trademark sound, Cannibal Corpse and multi-platinum first time Corpse producer Neil Kernon (Queensryche, Nevermore, Skrew, Macabre and many more) focused on technically powerful guitars and unmatched bass & drum syncopation that will leave the current crop of corporate makeup metallers slack jawed. "Pit Of Zombies" rips with alternating tempos and time changes that never leaves the listener behind, but drags them screaming into the pit. "Mutilation Of The Cadaver" is another prime chunk of meat that sees vocalist George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher easily spewing forth his finest vocal fury on record (including an unnerving fourteen second scream).

Eight albums in and Cannibal Corpse have never defied their core fan base, continually strengthening their place as the most enduring, relevant and uncompromising Death Metal band ever. With "Gore Obsessed" introducing future classics "Sanded Faceless", "Hung And Bled", "When Death Replaces Life" and "Dormant Bodies Bursting", Cannibal Corpse have buried any and all possibility of being dethroned as the reigning purveyors of aural gore and sonic splatter. Sure to once again peek the interest of those who feel it their responsibility to protect the moral fiber of America's youth culture, Cannibal Corpse again turned to long time friend and artist Vincent Lock to create a visual representation of "Gore Obsessed" that could match the band's musical depiction. Having set a high standard with album covers for "Butchered at Birth" and "Tomb of the Mutilated," Locke, as expected, delivered the gore, and more. The CD cover for "Gore Obsessed" will be masked for retail outlets as no "censored" cover will be available domestically.

Cannibal Corpse Announces Florida Shows

Cannibal Corpse will be wrapping up the band's 25th anniversary celebrations for 2013 with a pair of shows in Florida, which has served as the band's base of operations since relocating to Tampa from Buffalo, NY in 1994.

The shows are scheduled for November 29th in Ft. Lauderdale, FL at the Culture Room and November 30th in Tampa, FL at the Brass Mug.

Founding member and bassist Alex Webster comments: "We are very excited to be doing these shows in Florida this November. We formed the band in the first week of December back in 1988 so these shows will be happening almost exactly 25 years after our formation. It will be great to celebrate our band's anniversary in the state that helped put death metal on the map. Also, we are very happy to be able play Ft. Lauderdale to make up for the show we missed there in June. And I think fans in both cities will be happy when they see the ticket price for these shows!"

Metal Blade Records has been releasing one picture disc a month from the band's expansive catalog of releases. A total of 12 pictures discs will be released, covering all of the band's full-length studio albums, some of which have never been released on picture disc. "'Fucked With a Knife' is such an iconic Cannibal Corpse song, we thought it'd be cool to put our own spin on it, not to mention throwing a bit of a twist in there by using a female voice to tell this sordid tale," comments Abriosis vocalist Alxs Ness.

The band's third release overall, "Vessel" marks the first Abriosis recording to feature new vocalist Alxs Ness (ex-Without Mercy). More...

Napalm Death Comments On Decibel Magazine Tour

After completing a co-headlining North American tour with speed punks Municipal Waste, extreme act Napalm Death will now be coming back to the States with Cannibal Corpse and Immolation for the 2013 installment of the Decibel Magazine tour (Cretin, Beyond Creation, and Magrudergrind will also join the tour as rotating support). Vocalist Mark "Barney" Greenway comments about this upcoming trek:

"Twice in the USA in the space of a year? Must pinch ourselves a little harder. It's like 22 years ago all over again. Well, the Municipal Waste trip was a very beautiful thing, and we found things to be very vibrant and people rolled out in force. So Albert from Decibel asked us back in an excited voice, and we said 'Oh, go on then' in an excited voice, and thus we'll be seeing you sooner rather than later. It'll be fast, it'll be furious - guaranteed."

Napalm Death will be touring in support of latest release, "Utilitarian," and dates for the tour are below. You can also see what Cannibal Corpse had to say about the tour here. More...

Cannibal Corpse To Play Decibel Magazine Tour

After the maiden voyage in 2012, Decibel Magazine is doubling down on veteran star power for a second annual national tour.

This spring, the plague spreads as Decibel brings you three living legends of death metal and grindcore: the preeminent gore institution Cannibal Corpse; rabble-rousing U.K. grind icons Napalm Death, and NYDM stalwarts Immolation. The following press release was issued about the tour:

"While occultism permeated last spring's inaugural dB tour—featuring exclusively European headliners in Behemoth, Watain, the Devil's Blood and In Solitude—they looked (mostly) to North America for this year's unholy assemblage. Three of Decibel's favorite underground powerhouses will take on this year's rotating opening slot: demented Bay Area death-grinders Cretin, Canadian tech-prog upstarts Beyond Creation and Beltway grind/powerviolence crushers Magrudergrind. And the time is ripe to see the new bleed into the old: three of the six artists performing are expected to have new records detonating during the tour.

"Kicking off in May, this year's Decibel Magazine Tour gauntlet will last a full week longer than its 2012 counterpart, spanning over 30 North American dates. Presented by Metal Blade, Indiemerchstore.com, Nuclear Blast, Lace Pickups, Century Media and Season of Mist, the 2013 Decibel Magazine Tour will bring together the kind of globally-renowned, boundary-pushing innovators that have made it possible for the magazine to continue thriving for over 100 issues. Coming off a tour noted for Behemoth frontman Nergal's triumphant return to the States following his battle with leukemia—which culiminated in an explosive sold-out closing gig in New York City—Decibel had no choice but to go bigger and even more badass."
