Latest Crisis News
Below is our complete Crisis news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Note: We began associating news directly with bands in late 2003. Therefore, earlier band news may not be listed on this page.
Crisis have announced plans to go an indefinite hiatus, issuing the following statement:
"All of us in Crisis would like to let our very faithful and diehard fans know that the band is going on an indefinite hiatus. We are sorry that our fans will not be hearing any new music from us in the near future. Crisis has had a long and fruitful life thus far. Therefore, we don't feel the need to justify our decision specifically. The band members will be focusing on their personal lives, as well as pursuing other artistic interests. In the meantime we strongly urge our fans to support original and honest artists and their music; a lot of them can be found on The End Records roster. We would especially like to thank our dedicated fans the world over for sticking so closely with us over a span of 12 years and more. We would also like to thank Andreas Katsambas and The End Records crew from the bottom of our hearts for all their support. If Crisis ever thinks about releasing another album it would be a pleasure for us to work with The End again."
Crisis are on the road as part of The World AbomiNations Tour. Along with veteran Bay Area thrash legends Exodus as headliners, Crisis is sharing the stage with Canada’s 80’s-fueled metal regime 3 Inches Of Blood and heavyweights Watch Them Die. Tour Dates are shown below.
In other Crisis news, Crisis has announced the departure of Gia Wang, their bass player for the last 12 years. Due to family commitments Gia will be unable to continue to be a part of Crisis. The band wishes Gia well in all his future endeavors. Nick Weitzel, a friend of the band, will be filling in on bass guitar for the Exodus tour. Crisis will hold auditions for a permanent bass player position starting in November.
"We are looking for an aggressive! player who can perform with a live intensity as well as be a creative force in our improvisational style of songwriting. We prefer a player that uses a pick unless you think you are the next Cliff Burton. SERIOUS CANDIDATES ONLY!"

CRISIS have cancelled their June 26, 2005 appearance at Fury Fest in Le Mans, France. The band have nixed their European festival date because their European manager, Jeremy Nakache, was not able to negotiate the proper airfare coverage to the annual event with the festival promoters. This was a last-minute shock to the band, and the group is unable substantiate making the trip at their own expense.
CRISIS wants to apologize to their fans in Europe. It is a disappointment and the band hopes to make it up to their fans in Europe at a later date.

In the meantime, Crisis will launch a tour with M.O.D. and Beyond the Embrace on June 8 in Texas.

CRISIS have issued a statement in an attempt to clarify published news reports about Ryan Ball being the CRISIS drummer and being arrested for an armed robbery in Pennsylvania yesterday, February 28, 2005.
"Contrary to published news reports Ryan Ball was let go from his duties as the CRISIS drummer over two weeks ago," the band write in the statement. "We are currently working with another drummer, Justin Arman (ex-SOCIETY 1) while still looking for a permanent replacement. We want it to be clearly known that two weeks ago we asked Ryan Ball to return to Pennsylvania. Preparations for Justin Arman to participate with us at Independence-D Fest in Japan and at SXSW were made over a month ago.
"Although, we've announced Ryan's joining CRISIS, Ryan never became a permanent member of the band. He had rehearsed with us three times when we realized this was not working out. As soon as Ryan arrived in California we were alarmed by the fact that his immigration was not in status, as he'd previously told us, and experienced the chaos of his personality that we envisioned could cause problems similar to the ones he is facing now. We take our music seriously and want to work with professional and dedicated musicians and thus had to let Ryan go. It is unfortunate that within two weeks our concerns and hesitations for him have been proven right."

Canadian metal band Kittie will be teaming up with Otep and Crisis for the Metal Movement Tour beginning on September 27 in Farmingdale, NY.

The group are touring in support of their latest album, "Until the End," which released in July through Artemis Records. The follow-up to 2001's "Oracle" was recorded during the month of March at Longview Farm Studios in Massachusetts and was produced by Steve Thompson (Korn, Anthrax).

Soulfly have been confirmed as the headliners of "Window Rock Fest II" on August 14, 2004 in Window Rock, Arizona. Dubbed the largest metal music festival on Native American Soil, the one-day event will feature performances by 34 bands of hardcore, rock, punk, and blues music on three stages, a rave with DJ Abel, A skateboarding and bike competition, and main stage MCed by The Lizardman. Direct support at the festival will come from Ill Nino, with additional performances by Death Angel and Crisis. They will all be supported by 21 of the best Navajo/Native American metal/punk bands around, and some of the best bands from the southwest.
The main stage will be MCed by The Lizardman, described as "one of the most complete sideshow performers in history." In addition to his unique physical transformation, he has mastered an incredible repertoire of unusual acts and skills. He and his stage partner, Scott, combine these skills with extensive and diverse experience in live performance to create one of a kind show for all occasions.
On the main stage will be an exhibition by Fireblood, a team of body modification experts that use the art of suspension, piercing the flesh with hooks and being hoisted up in the air by wires attached to the hooks, in their act. There will also be an amateur skateboarding and bike competition by Tsosie Shindig in the Gorman Hall, which will be turned into the savage skateboarding and bike pavilion.
After the competition is completed and the bands performing on the third stage are finished, then DJ Abel will take over with his own brand of DJing for the rave, which will last until the closing of the event at 2:00 am.
Parts of the proceeds are going to the development of a skateboarding park for the youth of the Navajo Nation, which will be planned for the Window Rock area.
