Commented the band: "It is with excitement we announce our first European headline tour in a while! We also consider this tour line up one of the best we've ever had. Keep of Kalessin is a kick ass band, hailing from our neighboring nation of Norway and Sybreed is another band that we've liked for years and has always brought something unique. We feel that this bill is a perfect match and cannot wait to bring this on the road! Don't miss out on the European leg of the 'World Infinity Tour!' See you in November!" More...

Keep Of Kalessin Comments On New EP

Keep Of Kalessin has released the new EP “Introspection," which is available on digital music services such as iTunes and Spotify. “Introspection” is the first of several new EPs and singles that will be released throughout the year, in wait of the new album due in October 2013.

The new EP marks the transition from the old and into a new era for the band, with longtime main man Obsidian C. now also handling the vocal duties after the band separated from singer Thebon in March 2013.

In addition to the new single "Introspection," which was released with a video just over a week ago, there are two new tracks on this EP titled “Flight of the Hatchling” and an extreme version of “The Dragontower." Front man Obsidian C. comments on all three tracks:

"The new digital era opens some opportunities for bands and releasing digital EP's makes it possible for such a diverse band as Keep Of Kalessin to release some tracks and new versions of tracks that would not necessarily fit on an album.

"Introspection is a very personal song for me and deals with some issues I guess many can relate to when they start questioning themselves and what's really important in their lives. As a musician you're always sacrificing personal life for the band and lately I've been wondering if it's all worth it. Girlfriends, friends and family have always come second and I guess it's only natural that some priorities change as you grow older. So....basically I guess this is my midlife crisis caught on tape.

"Flight of the hatchling is our first instrumental song and shows the band from a very different side. As the title suggests this is our own type of Flight of the bumblebee kind of song, even though it's not a cover version, but a song entirely written by me. More...

Keep Of Kalessin Begins Writing New Album

Keep of Kalessin guitarist Obsidian C. has posted an update on his blog about starting the writing for a new album and follow-up to "Reptilian." He comments:

"I have taken some time out to really start focusing on the new Keep Of Kalessin album. For the last few months I've been focusing on other projects, more of which you will hear about later this year and in the coming years as a few of them are quite large undertakings so it won't happen over night.

"But right now I have arrived in Spain for a month of writing and creative flow with main focus on the new Keep Of Kalessin album. I brought my laptop, a soundcard and my guitar and the plan is to start jogging and swimming as well as writing music. I need to get my body and soul back into shape! ;)

"I already have some songs, bits and pieces ready so I need to sit down and be structured about finishing those ideas in the coming days. I always write new guitar riffs and many of them I'm satisfied with, but I always aim to have a good structure in a song which often mean that I actually leave my best riffs out of the album because they never fit into any song.

"It is also a fact that lately I've been kinda worn out regarding metal productions. Normally I easily write 10 riffs a day or a full song in 30 minutes, but lately I've just felt empty. Nothing I've written has been good enough. Understand me correctly, I've written good stuff, but not for Keep.
After the two years of touring since Reptilian was released I think my mind just shut down on this project and only lately has the harddrive started to reboot concerning this band. Maybe it's because I've set the standards for the next album so high that anything I write is not good enough, but inspiration to do another album has started to come back and I'm ready to start pushing the limit once again.

"Today's task is simple though. I need to go out and buy a new external harddrive which I'll install the Native Instruments Komplete 8 pack on with it's 250gb of sounds. I also need a harddrive to store all the audio tracks and new ideas on. Let's call this one the 'Project Drive' which will follow me through the entire production of the new album.

"I also need some new shoes for jogging. ;) So, off shopping then...."

Lake Bukkake Added To Metal Suckfest

The Metal Suckfest -- the 2-day, 20-band, MetalSucks-curated metal festival being held at NYC's Gramercy Theater on November 4th and 5th -- has made a last minute addition to its Day 1 roster: NYC pornogrind act Lake Bukkake will open the fest, prior to headliners Municipal Waste, God Forbid, Today is the Day, Howl, Black Tusk, and many more. Metalsucks commented:

"After months and months and months of negotiations — and by 'negotiations,' we mean 'us pestering and begging them constantly' — the group has FINALLY agreed to emerge from their shell to play the opening set on Day 1 of The Metal Suckfest, one week from today, Friday, November 4. The band will play both I Left My Heart…and 1996's Shut Up it’s Good for Your Complexion in their entirety. (The combined running time of both albums is less than fifteen minutes.)

"They also PROMISED us to debut at LEAST two songs from Chinese Bukkakacy, which they have, indeed, been working on for awhile (although apparently it may not be called that anymore — 'The idea seemed pretty funny in 2006, not so much anymore,' the band told us by e-mail)."

Bonded By Blood Introduces New Touring Lineup

Southern California thrashers Bonded By Blood have announced the friendly departure of Alex Lee (guitar) and Jerry Garcia (bass). Brandon Gullin (Avenger of Blood) and Ben Bennet (Warbringer) will fill in the vacated spots on the band's upcoming North American tour supporting Sepultura.

Carlos Regalado, Juan Juarez and Mauro Gonzalez, Bonded By Blood's remaining members, have released the following statement:

"Bonded By Blood has gone through so many changes in the last couple of years while playing amazing festivals, touring the entire United States, Europe and Canada dozens of times, and enjoying the time with new and old friends and fans all over the world who mean the most to us. We first lost our original bass player, Ruben Dominguez back in 2009, then singer Jose Barrales left the band in 2010, but each was replaced with new members and the group marched on. Now, we regret to announce that Alex Lee (guitar) and Jerry Garcia (bass) are also stepping away from BBB. We will miss them just as much as we miss Ruben and Jose, and this band will not be the same without them, but the three of us that are left in Bonded By Blood hope that everyone who enjoys this band can understand that changes are inevitable. As much as we want to keep an 'original line-up', things happen that you just can't control.

"We hope all our friends, fans and fellow musicians can still give us the warm welcome we always received and still support us in these hard times while we rebuild the band as we all need all the support we can get. Thankfully, some new friends stepped up and are working hard to help us do the Sepultura tour, so big thanks to Ben Bennet (from Smog and formerly Warbringer) and Brandon Gulling (of Malus Rex and the recently reformed Avenger of Blood), who will be filling in on bass and rhythm guitar respectively while we keep together what is left of Bonded By Blood. We hope to see you all on the road again; it's not going to be the same without our old friends up there with us... But shit happens."

Alex Lee comments on leaving Bonded By Blood:

"With Jose leaving the band followed by my own parting, I want to assure you all that it is not a coincidence, nor is it a fluke. Being a guitarist, I have always been interested in playing other styles of music and not only thrash. Don't get me wrong, I love my thrash music, but I honestly see myself being suited better with another band or type of music than what I have been doing with Bonded By Blood. It has been one of the hardest decisions of my life, due to the fact that this was the first band that I was in or established, but now I feel that it's my time to move on and to continue my progress on a new path. I wish Bonded the best of luck and I know they can succeed. As for the fans, I know they won't truly understand, they can either hate me or follow me, but I hope they will continue listening to and seeing Bonded live, for I believe that they will hold strong for years to come. You guys were the best and thanks for the great years!"

Jerry Garcia reflects on his time with Bonded By Blood and his exit:

"Being part of Bonded By Blood for almost two years now has been the best experience of my life. I've seen and done things that I could have only dreamed of. I had the honor of sharing the stage with some of the most talented musicians in the world, including the ones in my band. Everything I experienced will be something that I will cherish for a lifetime. However, as time goes by and life begins to unfold, certain things begin to become very evident and downright inevitable. Bonded By Blood is more than just a band, it's a spirit and it transcends any single individual person or band member.

"I want to thank each and every single one of you that ever supported me and the guys in doing what we do best in life, and that is music. There is no better feeling in the world than to bring happiness to someone through music. It is an incredibly humbling experience that I never took for granted. I am not sad, nor am I disappointed in my departure from the band. I see it as a fresh start to another chapter in my random life. As for me... Well, I'll be around - music is something that is essential to my life. I cherished the good, learned from the bad and realized that in life, 'the only constant is change'.

"One last thank you to everyone that showed me kindness on and off the road, so thanks to Juan, Carlos, Alex, Mauro, Marco, Talita and the rest of the Earache gang including Anthony, every band I toured with, and most of all the fans! See ya!"

Bonded By Blood recently finished a co-headlining European tour with Lazarus A.D. Go to this location to view Sepultura, Hate, Keep of Kelessin and Bonded By Blood tour dates.
