Four More Bands Confirmed For 70000 Tons 2023
The organisers of the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise have confirmed a further four bands for the already impressive lineup of the 2023 edition, which will set sail from Miami on January 30th. Joining the ranks for the voyage will be Dutch death metal legends God Dethroned, Norwegian black metal veterans Vreid, progressive thrashers Cryptosis and German power metal stalwarts Iron Savior.

Slegest Premieres New Song & Music Video
Former Vreid guitarist Ese's black metal band Slegest premieres a new song and music video titled "I Fortida Sitt Lys", taken from the upcoming new album "Vidsyn", which will be out in stores November 4 via Dark Essence Records. The new album was recorded in Conclave & Earshot Studio and Systrond Studio with Bjørnar E. Nilsen (Vulture Industries) and frontman Ese as producers. Nilsen mixed the album, and it was mastered by Herbrand Larsen (Enslaved). It also features Grutle Kjellson (Enslaved) on the track "Som i eit endelikt".

Public Sales Begin For 70,000 Tons Of Metal 2017
UMC - promoters for the Original and World's Largest Cruise Festival, 70,000 Tons of Metal - have now opened up the 2017 installment to public sales. Check out how to plan your metal vacation using the link below.
In addition, the lineup is taking shape as an additional 20 acts were added to the bill, bringing the total announced at 36 of 60 bands, as follows:
Arch Enemy, Demolition Hammer, Devildriver, Draconinan, Dying Fetus, Gojira, Marduk, Moonsorrow, Omnium Gatherum, Orden Ogan, Revocation, Saltatio Mortis, Serenity, Stamina, Stuck Mojo, Testament, Uli Jon Roth, Unleashed, Vreid and Xandria.
70,000 Tons of Metal 2016 will set sail on February 2nd-6th from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and for the first time will port in Haiti at Labadee.
The festival will once again be hosted by The Independence of the Seas (via Royal Caribbean). The ship will accommodate four stages: The Alhambra Theater is a five-story concert hall in which they spare no expense to remove part of the (very comfortable) seating so you have a real Mosh Pit on the High Seas; The more intimate Egyptian themed Pyramid Lounge offers the local club atmosphere; The third indoor stage is in Studio B, the ice skating rink featuring a maritime version of the Arena experience and last but not least their jewel: The Pool Deck stage - The World’s Biggest Open Air Stage Structure to ever sail the Open Seas, surrounded by multiple bars and pools, plenty of room to sunbathe on several decks and even hot tubs incorporated into the Pool Deck stage to soak in while you watch the shows!
The All-Star Jam band, which returned this past January will also be back, led by Annihilator's Jeff Waters and members from the various acts aboard performing cover tunes live.

Vreid Streams Full New Album
Vreid's upcoming album "Sólverv" is set to drop this Friday through Indie Recordings, and today the full release is online for advance streaming (listen in through the YouTube play list below). Vreid also comments:

Vreid Posts New Music Video
Vreid's new full-length "Sólverv" is due out via Indie Records on October 9, 2015 and follows 2013's "Welcome Farewell" (reviewed here).

Vreid Streaming New Song
Earlier this month Vreid announced work was underway on a new album, and now the band is ready to unleash the opening salvo with a new track stream.
Check out "Haust" below, which is the first song to come online from upcoming full-length "Sólverv," due out via Indie Records on October 9, 2015. The album follows 2013's "Welcome Farewell" (reviewed here), with full details to arrive shortly.
Vreid Announces New Album
Vreid just checked in with the following announcement about gearing up to release a new full-length album:
"New album is coming: this week we will have a major announcement for our new album. Tracklist, album title, release date, artwork etc. is to be unleashed soon.
"What we can already tell you is that it will be an album entirely written with Norwegian lyrics, and its 7 tracks that we are extremely proud of. We have isolated ourselves in our own world for quite some time, and are now ready to share this blackened beast with you soon.
"In October/November we will tour across Norway and Europe, and on Thursday the 19th of November we will do our first show in Oslo since 2013, and its our only show there this years. Spread the word and see you all soon."

Indie Recordings Announces 10th Anniversary Tour
This autumn Indie Recordings will celebrate the label's history with a ”10 year anniversary tour” featuring Keep Of Kalessin, Vreid, and Vredehammer (the latter two of which both have new albums coming this year). The label comments:

Vreid Gearing Up For North American Tour
In just a little over a week, Norwegian black ‘n’ roll legion Vreid will take the band's sonic mayhem to North America alongside headliners Melechesh.
Set to commence June 16th in Los Angeles, California, the roadside assault includes over two weeks of live devastation. Additional support will come from Lightning Swords Of Death and Reign Of Lies. Comments Vreid bassist Hváll of the upcoming journey:
"We are thrilled to return to the Wild West; it will be a blast! We have had some great shows over there before, and can’t wait to return. We have our best album freshly released, and are ready to unleash these new songs plus old warrior themes for you. Unfortunately our rock solid drummer Steingrim has to sit out this tour due to work-related issues. He will surely be missed, but we have been aware of this for a while and have the perfect replacement for him. Tomas Myklebust will join us for this tour. Myklebust is a maestro drummer who did the UK tour with us last year when we toured with Paradise Lost. He did a splendid job then, and has worked his ass off rehearsing the new material. Hope to see you on the road."

Norwegian black ‘n’ roll legion Vreid will take their to the streets this June on a North American tour alongside headliners Melechesh.
Set to commence June 16th in Los Angeles, California, the long-awaited trek includes over two weeks of live assaults and will come to a close in New York City on June 30th. Additional support will come from Lightning Swords Of Death and Reign Of Lies.
