Entombed A.D. Vocalist Diagnosed With Cancer

L.G. Petrov, vocalist of Entombed A.D. and formerly Entombed, has revealed that he has been diagnosed with "uncurable" cancer. In a short message on his fundraising page, the forty eight year old vocalist informed fans that he had been battling the illness for some time:

"I’ve been hit with uncureable cancer (gallvägscancer in Swedish), and have been battling it for some time now. It can’t be removed but the doctors are trying to control it with chemo therapy. Life takes its weird turns... "

Petrov made his name as the vocalist of Entombed, one of Sweden's most revered death metal bands, appearing on all studio albums except for the sophomore full length, "Clandestine." In 2013, Petrov and other members of Entombed continued as Entombed A.D., who have to date released three albums. He is also known for his work with Firespawn, Comecon, Morbid and Nihilist.

Entombed A.D. Puts On A Death Metal Extravaganza

Death metal has come a long way. From the first stirrings of Possessed to the rise of a new genre, spreading to Europe and South America and splitting into many different sub genres. Europe boasts a wide array of death metal bands and last Friday in London, three groups from three countries launched the "Hell Over Europe" tour.

Kicking off the evening's festivities were Danish up and comers Baest. Already promoting their sophomore album, "Venenum" a year after the release of their debut, "Danse Macabre," the quintet from Aarhus have been rapidly gaining pace and earning new fans everywhere. Judging from the night's performance, it's easy to see why. Baest is musically rooted in the old school Florida bands such as Morbid Angel but they bring a fresh, modern take on the style, gaining from the evolution death metal has undergone since the eighties.

They have a really strong presence on stage too, immediately making them firm favourites with the crowd, who appreciated the boisterous energy, without coming across as arrogant, in the same vein of bands like Power Trip. Songs from both albums went over huge, and their growing popularity was clear to see from the rush to the merch table. A great way to start off a Friday evening and a band which will only get bigger as time goes by. More...

Entombed A.D. Reveals New Album Details

Nobody can cheat death. And nobody can cheat at death metal either. Flying the flag for balls-out and murderous death metal since 2014, Entombed A.D. are poised to return with one of 2019’s most devastating, deathly statements. Their new album will be entitled "Bowels Of Earth" and will be released on August 30th!

"Bowels Of Earth" represents a huge leap forward for these gnarly veterans. Faster, tighter and more viscerally crushing than anything they have produced before.

"We have our Brazilian friend, Guilherme, coming into the band on guitar and" laughs LG. "We’ve been getting energy from that. This recording was a lot more focused and straightforward. We kept things simple, but still with thought behind everything. And there was absolutely no stress!"

Entombed A.D. Unleashes Hell In Bristol

Continuing the string of exciting touring partnerships recently, which have included the likes of Amon Amarth & Testament and Rotting Christ & Inquisition, Entombed A.D. are currently on the road in support of their latest album, "Dead Dawn," with another of metal's highly respected veterans, Voivod, joined along the way by Lord Dying and Morbid Evils. Last Sunday, the tour rolled into Bristol for a show at the Fleece which had a surprisingly small attendance but a huge atmosphere.

Kicking off the evening was Finnish doom metal trio, Morbid Evils, featuring Rotten Sound vocalist Keijo Niinimaa. The group really live up to their sub-genre's name, taking to the stage shortly after doors opened and letting loose a highly morose sound, which caught the attention of the early birds in the audience. Performing material from their debut album, "In Hate With the Burning World," the three Finns could be one to watch for all fans of doom metal, though listeners who aren't so keen on very slow, very dour music may not find what they're looking for. Entombed A.D. comments on the video: "We were about to brew a collaboration beer with Warpigs in Copenhagen. An Imperial Stout that is a mix of Mikkellers 'Beer Geek Breakfast' and 3 Floyds 'Dark Lord.' It will basically taste like we sound.Very heavy stuff.

"We were looking forward to a day of brewing beer, drinking beer and eating bbq. Then we were told that we need a new video asap. So we got a great idea and perfect solution: let's just film us brewing, drinking and eating and spending the whole budget on that! And so we did. Best day at work ever." More...
