Jess And The Ancient Ones Posts New Video

Jess and the Ancient Ones' upcoming "Second Psychedelic Coming: The Aquarius Tapes" will be released on CD, double LP, and digital formats on December 4, 2015 via Svart Records.

Thomas Corpse, responsible for songwriting duties, comments on the great work: "We have been following our natural need to explore different forms of musical impression, and so again our sound has evolved one step further. I must say that the change is most welcomed, for we are not the likes who like to stay in a strangling doctrine of genre rules of any sort. Music should never be composed in order to please a crowd. The most important thing is that the composing element is pleased with the outcome, for only then it may also bring true joy to the ears of the listener. This album has its errors, and we want them to be there. They are us. They are the sound of our current state."

The first single off the album is the ode to Albert Hoffmann, "In Levitating Secret Dreams," which can be seen below and was directed by Romanian artist Costin Chioreanu.

"The album title can be seen as a bridge between the past and now," continues Thomas Corpse. "Some thoughts, words, and poems from the Aquarian age are bound to ever last and inspire generations to come. Their core always being essentially the same - love and freedom. Often in history, that message has traveled from characters that society has announced to be ill, corrupt, and dangerous to the common good. Of course, the rich in their ivory towers want to silence all of these poets and warriors, but luckily, they never succeed. Here be nine songs with that same old message. Feed your minds." More...

The Exploding Eyes Orchestra Releasing "I"

What started as a pastime for Jess and the Ancient Ones guitarist and songwriter Thomas Corpse has morphed into an actual band: The Exploding Eyes Orchestra.

With a lineup consisting of five out of seven Jess and the Ancient Ones members, the band's debut album, simply titled "I", will hit the streets on June 12th via Svart Records.

According to Thomas Corpse, the idea behind the new combo was to find an outlet for material which the prolific songwriter found incompatible with the Jess and the Ancient Ones concept. The album is culled from lengthy recording sessions held in Kuopio, Finland in the winter of 2013 and 2014, and these sessions also produced another album's worth of excellent material, which will see the light of day on the next release, "II," in the spring of 2016 via Svart Records.

The "I" track listing is as follows:

1. The Smoke
2. Crazy Heart
3. My Father The Wolf
4. Drawing Down The West
5. Two-Zero 13
6. Black Hound
7. Farewell to All-In-One More...

Jess And The Ancient Ones To Record New Album

Today the occult rockers in Jess And The Ancient Ones reveal news of their next album for Svart Records, which follows the "Astral Sabbat" EP (2013) and the band's previous self-titled debut album (2012).

The band comments: "After a needed break, we have once again put the wheels of JATOA in motion. Writing process has began, and the band is working hard to create a follow-up to the debut album - so far, so good, as we already have a few new songs in our hands. A natural progress has taken its place, as the material has a lots refreshing elements within it, but one will definitely still identify the creators.

"When the summer is over, the call of the studio will be inevitable. The second album will most likely be released in early 2015, through Svart Records. More accurate information concerning the release will be announced later. If you want to keep track, be sure to check out the virtual world.

"Also, some shows are being booked for the summer, and the first announced appearance will happen at Bergen, Norway. It's an indoor festival called 'Beyond the Gates.' So if you want to catch us live, that's the place to be! Be all that you can be, JATAO."
