Latest Hopesfall News
Below is our complete Hopesfall news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Note: We began associating news directly with bands in late 2003. Therefore, earlier band news may not be listed on this page.
Trustkill Records has responded to recent comments made by Hopesfall regarding the label. As you may recall, as part of their recent break-up announcement, Hopesfall drummer Jason Trabue stated that "I hate Trustkill and its owner. Hahahaha. He's not the reason we broke up but I (we) do hate him."
Soon thereafter, Trabue was interviewed by Ryan's Rock Show and claimed, among other things, that Trustkill left Hopesfall $20,000 in debt.
Ryan's Rock Show has since conducted an interview with Trustkill president Josh Grabelle, during which Grabelle responded:
"[Trabue] does not speak a shred of truth... I heard those guys got into some pretty hardcore drugs... and they are just miserable."
You can decide for yourself. Both the Hopesfall and Grabelle interviews can be heard here.
North Carolina's Hopesfall has broken up after nearly ten years as a band. Since the release of their "No Wings To Speak of" EP with Takehold Records, the group has undergone a slew of line-up changes, leaving the band without any of its original members.
According to the group, "[Hopesfall] has broken up and we have all moved on to other things in our lives. Why the break up? Well it's a long story."
The band has uploaded an unreleased (and unmastered) track titled "Saskatchewan" to their Myspace page.

Hopesfall have just entered Vudu Studios in Long Island, NY with producer Mike Watts (As Cities Burn, As Tall As Lions) to record a new album for Trustkill Records. The band revealed that they have been working on new material for close to a year and fans should expect a further progression in their sound. Guitarist Josh Brigham says:
"Our music has always been spacey and heavy, and we use those roots, combined with our love of grunge-era Smashing Pumpkins, Dinosaur Jr., Hum, and Pixies, we add some bigger, heavier riffs. We all admire bands that can morph and change with each album, and that is what we try to do. Expect change and progression, in both song writing and overall style, on the new album."
Hopesfall recently debuted a new song, "Bird Flu," for the Trustkill Takeover II Compilation. The song will also appear on the forthcoming album, but will appear slightly altered as the band plans to spend six weeks in the studio working on the album.
Hopesfall have parted ways with drummer Adam Baker. Reasons behind the split have yet to be disclosed, but the band has replaced Baker with drummer Jason Trabue.
Due to unforeseen circumstance Funeral For A Friend are forced to cancel their upcoming US tour. Their drummer, Ryan has a stomach infection and doctors have informed him that he needs to rest and cannot travel. It is unfortunately too last minute for the band to get a replacement drummer for December so they are cancelling the US run. Funeral will return to the states as part of the Taste of Chaos Tour in February 2006.
Funeral will not be playing the shows but some may be kept open for A Static Lullaby and Hopesfall. Check locally for info. Otherwise refunds available from point of purchase.
Message from the band:
"Unfortunately Ryan has been ill and needs treatment here in the UK to remedy his illness, this means that we will be unable to play the shows we had in place along the east coast of the USA and Canada this November/December, we are very, very sorry about this but we want Ryan to get better. We were all looking forward to this tour and meeting up with the friends we have made so far on our trips to the USA but when it comes to situations like this we made a conscious decision that Ryan should be allowed to recover. We truly hope that everyone will understand this, we appreciate all of our fans and all of their commitment to us and we promise to come back even stronger in the new year for the Taste of Chaos USA tour."
