Christian rockers Stryper have issued the following road report:
"Hello Everyone! Looking back on the past five months I've realized that I've been a little more on the reserved side regarding updates and staying in touch. To be completely honest, it's been nice being more on the reclusive side but for some reason, I felt inclined to write today, 2/1, and I seem to have a lot on my heart so here goes........
"The tour has been a tug of war so to speak - pros and cons, ups and downs and an exhausting run that has certainly taken its toll physically and emotionally. Although we all enjoy our time on stage sharing the music and the message that God has blessed us with, the road life is very difficult at times and can be quite draining. Plain and simple - it can beat you up! We are all feeling the effects. I’m handling the touring life a little easier these days due to eating healthier, staying conditioned and taking care of myself (or at least trying to). God has taken care of us and answered prayer in terms of keeping us healthy and strong throughout the tour. There has been some sickness here and there but for the most part, by comparison, we've been healthier and stronger this time around. More...

Vocalist Michael Sweet commented: “I’ve come down with a horrible case of the flu and now it seems to be spreading throughout the bus. I see reports all over the nation where bad cases of the flu are hitting America and had hoped we could make it through this entire tour without it affecting us, but unfortunately it has. It’s really bad and I wish our friends and fans all the best with their health during this season. I have seen a doctor and am on medication and anticipate a speedy recovery. My sincerest apologies to all the fans for this inconvenience but I look forward to seeing you all in December when we return. Just for these two shows we will be putting together a special Christmas segment of the show. It’ll be great to spend the holidays with our friends and fans in Dallas and Houston.”

Christian rockers Stryper have issued the following statement about gearing up for their upcoming tour dates:
"Rehearsals are going extremely well. The guys are sounding incredible and really enjoying themselves. Spirits are high. Laughter, smiles, practical jokes, and of course intense hard-work and long days of practice fill the air as the band gears up to kick-off their 25th Anniversary world tour this Friday, September 11 at 'House of Blues' in Boston.
"Tuesday was spent running through the set several times and tweaking the new in-ear monitor system they'll be using on this tour. Also this week, the final yellow and black outfits arrived via FedEx. That was an exciting moment - like unwrapping a present on Christmas morning. Everyone is thrilled with the job Ray Brown did with the outfits (Ray Brown was the original outfit designer from the 80's).
The band also took a brief break from rehearsals to meet with One Verse, the ministry in which we are partnering with during this tour. Tom Scholz and Gary Pihl from BOSTON stopped by yesterday and briefly ran through 'Peace of Mind'. They'll be sitting in with the band on September 11 in Boston. If you live anywhere in the Boston area, or even if you don't, this is a show worth catching. It will be a historic night. More...
Christian rockers Stryper have issued the following update about replacing their bassist for their upcoming U.S. tour dates:
"Bassist Tracy Ferrie will not be performing on the U.S. leg of the Stryper tour. Instead, original bassist Timothy Gaines will be the sole bass player. What was originally planned as a 2-set show, will now be one full 90-minute show, consisting of all the greatest hits and new Stryper material. The band will be wearing new yellow and black outfits designed by the original outfit designer. All original members, Michael Sweet, Robert Sweet, Oz Fox, and Tim Gaines will be performing on the 25th Anniversary U.S. tour.
"Tracy has made the very honorable decision, one in which we support, to put the needs of his family first. Contrary to what many may believe, most professional musicians (especially those with families) have other jobs when their band is not touring. And in order to provide for their families, they often need to find other means of work during non-touring times.
"We are living in extremely difficult economic times whereby finding a good day-job is difficult. Tracy has a great one. One that provides well for his family. Leaving this job could put his family in a tough situation upon returning from tour. We support Tracy in this decision to ensure security for his family. At the same time, we're excited to get back out on the road and share our new music and the 25th Anniversary show with our friends and fans whom we have not seen in a long time.
"We're honored to have been doing this for 25 years and blessed to have the opportunity to go out on tour this fall. Without you, our friends and fans, we would not have lasted this long. Thank you. See you on the road soon."

Stryper manager Dave Rose has issued the following statement about seeking fan support for upcoming tour dates:
"Stryper friends and fans…
"As you know, we're in the middle of working on the 25th Anniversary Tour. There are a million variables that go in to making a date and city work for a tour. But one of the key elements is promoters and venue owners need to feel that there is interest in the community about Stryper. They need to know that hundreds if not thousands of people will come to a Stryper show, and that you will help make sure this happens.
"I've received several emails from people saying 'I noticed you don't have [my city] on the tour schedule. Will Stryper be coming to [my city]?'
"This is where the fans come in. You can help. In each market there are venues that hold anywhere from 750 to 2000 or more people. They have rock shows. Maybe it's a club. Maybe it's a theater. They're everywhere throughout America. And trust me, we've contacted them. And in many cases they've made offers that we are currently reviewing. More...
Frontiers Records has signed Christian hard rockers STRYPER for the European release of the band's brand new album "Murder By Pride," due on August 28, 2009. The album is to be released on July 21, 2009 in North America.
Formed in 1983, the band released five studio albums before disbanding in February 1992. Singer Michael Sweet pursued a solo career, while the other members have kept on working together, until Stryper came back in the original line up during 2005, releasing the acclaimed new album entitled "Reborn".
In the past few years singer Michael Sweet started to cooperate with Boston and the result of this is a stunning recording of the classic song "Peace of Mind" on the brand new album "Murder By Pride," which sees none other than Tom Scholz guesting on guitar.
"I got the idea of the title 'Murder By Pride' from seeing pride consume dreams, goals and many times, lives" continues Sweet "We all deal with pride and it can be crippling, so I wanted to write a lyric and a theme that would be a constant reminder of that. This record has been in the works for a long, long time and I can only hope that it was worth the wait!"

The organizers of the Rocklahoma festival, which is held at the Catch The Fever Festival Grounds, located four miles north of Pryor, Oklahoma, has announced some new names for this years edition of the event. The biggest news is that Stryper has been confirmed to headline the main stage on Friday where they will be joined by new additions Night Ranger and Warrant. Added to the Saturday are rock legends Thin Lizzy and Sunday will see a newly confirmed performance from Skid Row.
Speaking on the festival, Stryper frontman Michael Swet said: "Rocklahoma is an event that I've heard about from peers and friends and they have always said that Stryper would be a perfect fit for this festival. Oklahoma holds a special place in my heart since my family lived in Moore, Oklahoma. I have a lot of family in Oklahoma. We're excited to finally be able to perform at Rocklahoma and look forward to an amazing night!"
Christian heavy metal veterans Stryper has announced that they will release their brand new studio album, "Murder By Pride" on July 21st through Big Tree Records. When speaking about the new album, frontman Michael Sweet said:
"After years of speaking to fans and hearing comments like 'more guitars', 'more solos' and 'more screams', I decided to keep those comments in mind as I wrote each song. It was important to me to try to get back to that early sound of Stryper yet at the same time, to remain relevant today. It's certainly not an easy thing to do but as I listen to Murder By Pride, I think that was accomplished. I got the idea of the title Murder By Pride from seeing pride consume dreams, goals and many times, lives. We all deal with pride and it can be crippling, so I wanted to write a lyric and a theme that would be a constant reminder of that. This record has been in the works for a long, long time and I can only hope that it was worth the wait!"
