Novembers Doom will release their new album The Novella Reservoir on February 20. The disc was recorded with Chris Djuricic — who produced last year's Pale Haunt Departure — mixed by Dan Swanö and mastered by ex-Death member James Murphy. "We took a step forward in speed and aggression while maintaining the same sound we've had over all six CDs," singer Paul Kuhr said.
Chicago dark metal act NOVEMBERS DOOM has set a February 20, 2007 release date for its new album, "The Novella Reservoir" (The End Records). The album artwork and an MP3 of the song "Drown the Inland Mere" can be found at www.thenovellareservoir.com.
The follow-up to 2005's "The Pale Haunt Departure", "The Novella Reservoir" was recorded with Chris Djuricic, mixed by Dan Swanö (EDGE OF SANITY, BLOODBATH) and mastered by James Murphy (TESTAMENT, DEATH).
Commented singer Paul Kuhr: The only way to describe 'The Novella Reservoir' is natural progression. With each CD we release, we evolve in style. This time, we took a step forward in speed and aggression, while maintaining the same sound we've had over all six CDs. 'The Pale Haunt Departure' was so well received, we knew writing the follow up would be a challenge, and I feel we've successfully created a worthy release." More...

Novembers Doom post an update on their myspace regarding a search for a permanate bassist:
"Having used temporary bass players for years, we have now decided with the recording of the next CD, and a great deal of promotion that will follow it's release, it's time to fill the bass position with a permanent member. We're looking for not only a talented bassist, but a person whose schedule will allow for travel, and the ability to rearrange their personal life for the band, at times. The position requires a certain amount of sacrifice and dedication, with the biggest reward of playing the music you enjoy, and not for financial gain.
If you're interested, message us, or pass this info along to someone you think might be! We'll go over more details then.
NOVEMBERS DOOM post the following messege on their myspace blog:
"NOVEMBERS DOOM are scheduled to begin recording the follow-up to 2005's "The Pale Haunt Departure" on June 16. Once again, the production team will consist of Chris Djuricic for tracking and Dan Swan to mix the final recording. Mastering will again be handled by James Murphy.
In a statement about the upcoming studio work, the band says, "Consistency and quality are very important to us, to insure that anyone who was a fan of the previous CD, will once again be able to comfortably expect nothing less then a stellar production. Chris Djuricic, Dan Swan and James Murphy were the perfect choice for 'The Pale Haunt Departure' and the perfect compliment to NOVEMBERS DOOM. We're honored to be working with them once again.
"Working hard on the new material, we've reached the final stage of pre-production, creating well rounded, and a natural progression of songs, which continue where 'The Pale Haunt Departure' ends. Always adding new elements to our sound, there will be a few surprises mixed in, but remaining true to the band you expect.""
The organizers of the Heathen Crusade Metalfest and the members of THYRFING are happy to announce that Toni Kocmut will be performing several songs with THYRFING during their set at the Heathen Crusade. For those of you who do not recognize the name, Toni performs the “clean” vocals on THYRFING’S releases. What makes this performance special is that this will be the first time that Toni has EVER performed live with THYRFING.
Patrik Lindgren of THYRFING had the following to say regarding Toni’s upcoming performance: "Of course we are very excited and thrilled about the fact that Toni is about to perform with us for the first time. We have been working with him on the albums for six years now, and have known him even longer than that, so of course the idea has been up for discussion, but now the plans are finally being realized. This addition to the line-up is making this gig even more unique than it already is, and I hope that the audience will appreciate this exclusive feature."
The Heathen Crusade Metalfest is set to take place on Saturday, January 21, 2006, at the Star Central in Columbia Heights, Minnesota. Also scheduled to appear are Finland's MOONSORROW, Ireland's PRIMORDIAL, THE CHASM, NOVEMBERS DOOM, TODESBONDEN, TYPHUS, DUMAH, AUTUMN ETERNAL and ENSHRINED.
Tickets for this ALL AGES show are on sale now ($25 in advance, $30 day of show). Additional information (schedule, hotels, vendors, band info, venue location, etc…) is available at the Heathen Crusade Official Website.
Chicago dark metal act Novembers Doom have commenced writing the follow-up album to the well-received "The Pale Haunt Departure" released earlier this year in March on The End Records.
Says lead singer Paul Kuhr about the forthcoming release:
“We are currently in the writing process of the new CD, and early plans are to begin recording in April 2006. The new material is a huge step forward in song writing, not only separating our sound from our peers, but digging deep into our roots of early Chicago death metal. Faster, heavier, and relentless. It will be quite difficult to label us in the ‘doom’ category after this release.”
Novembers Doom and Keen Of The Crow (featuring former members of MORGION) are the latest acts to be confirmed for the Heathen Crusade Metalfest, set to take place Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Star Central in Columbia Heights, Minnesota. Also scheduled to appear are Finland's Moonsorrow, Ireland's Primordial, Sweden's Thyrfing, The Chasm, Typhus and Todesbonden. Additional acts will be announced soon.
Chicago doom metallers NOVEMBERS DOOM have been added to the Windy City Invitational, scheduled to take place on October 1st in Chicago, IL, at The Metro. Vocalist Paul Kuhr made the following statement:
“We are extremely honored to be asked to perform on the inaugural WCI in our hometown, Chicago. The Metro is legendary, the stage and sound are incredible. It was important to us that we be there to represent our hometown metal scene. We'll be performing as part of the vanguard for the awesome line up this show has. The diversity of the bill is amazing, like no other festival in this country.

NOVEMBERS DOOM along with MACABRE, ACUMEN NATION and HURTLOCKER prove WCI is truly a representation of amazingly heavy bands not only from around the world, but also our hometown of Chicago, and believe me, we are not coming to disappoint!
The HURTLOCKER guys and us are going to donate 50 of our own shirts, 25 each, and our label, The End Records has 50 DISCS from a variety of their bands that we are going to give to the first 50 people through when doors open at noon. Chicago doomsters Novembers Doom have posted the following message on their official web site:
"It is with much sadness, and genuine regret, that we, Novembers Doom, must announce a cancelation for our upcoming European performances this October. While making our final arrangements for travel, we have encountered many logistic and legal setbacks, including (but not limited to) crossing European borders with the proper paperwork and permits in time to allow us entry to perform the scheduled dates. Other business-related issues have come to our attention as well, making this trip difficult, and not as cost-effective as originally planned. We felt it was ideal to make the decision now, and work towards a proper tour in 2006, than cancel this trip at the last moment, and disappoint anyone that would come to see us perform. We regret not being able to appear at the ProgPower Festival in the Netherlands on October 1st, the Dutch Day of Doom IV on October 2nd, and the several shows booked in the U.K. for that week. We strongly apologize to the organizers of these shows, as well to the fans, and we do promise you, we are doing everything in our means to reschedule these dates, and perform in Europe for you in 2006.
"Novembers Doom will however complete our obligations to perform at the Day of the Equinox festival in Toronto Canada, on October 14th, 2005.
