Veteran death metal band MASTER, currently on tour across the United States in support of their new album Slaves to Society (on Ibex Moon), have posted an tour update online.
A statement from bassist/singer Paul Speckmann reads:
"The tour began after I arrived in Philadelphia. As always there were problems from the get go. After arriving in the USA, the airlines sent my guitar to Chicago and my bag elsewhere. I had to visit the airport twice the following morning to find the stuff. With all the governmental control here, you have to wonder how this could happen. Anyways, the practicing began with Alex Bouks and Rustin Grosse the following morning. We rehearsed three days and began in Pittsburgh. It was a cool turnout for the rehearsal show, and the energy from the crowd reminded me what I missed about America. At all the shows over the last week, the old school diehards have been showing up. People are supporting Master, buying the merch etc. It's a bit different to say the least driving around in a van, but that's the American underground. If I could say anything bad or negative, it's only that many times food is an issue and/or how often we are waiting in front of the club for the local promoters. Of course this is nothing new because this was the same back in 1996 when I toured here last. I have to thank Ibex Moon and Matt Bishop for their efforts and support in this endeavor. Too bad our driver Mike quit after his old lady called him home. I suppose touring is not for everyone. See you out on the road." More...

Also, it's a real fucking honor to do these dates with GOREAPHOBIA They are by far one of my favorite bands from the early '90s era, and hold legendary status as far as I'm concerned . This makes it all the more KILLER!"
"Speaking of a real honor," comments ESTUARY's lead vocalist Zdenka Prado, "We are extremely pleased to announce that Jack Owen will once again be handling bass duties on this trek. Jack did an awesome job on the Balkans Assassination, tour and we are thankful to have him on board once again. These shows will definitely kick ass! I can't wait to share the front lines with the Canadian maniacs in some non-stop head thrashing action."
Jack Owen states: "I'm honored once again to be sharing the stage with my friends, and thrash death maniacs ESTUARY! Also thrilled to head to the great white north and see the many fans and friends from over the years! It's a short tour, but should be full of blast beats and mystery meat! Some of you may not know, but I will be playing bass on this tour as I did on ESTUARY's European tour in October of 2007, which was a total blast. See you soon!"
GOREAPHOBIA's Chris G. Mezzadurus adds: "We are very excited about coming into Canada for the first time. As A matter of fact, this Canadian tour will be the first time in GOREAPHOBIA's history to EVER play outside the United States!!! Canada has A very close and sacred place in my soul for extreme heavy metal! Canada has spawned some of the greatest metal acts of all time for myself, GOREAPHOBIA, and legions of metalheads as well! VOIVOD has been one of GOREAPHOBIA's most paragon inspiration and innovative master of extreme metal music! Also, bands we have admired and loved are RAZOR, EXCITER, SACRIFICE, SLAUGHTER, and PILEDRIVER, to name A few mighty Canadian influences. We hope that the Canadian metal maniacs that come to see us for the first time are just as excited as we are to perform for them! See you all soon, and in the great words of EXCITER, 'LONG LIVE THE LOUD!'"

Incantation's John McEntee releases a strong statement about Cathedral Rock Productions in regards to the Sourth American tour issues:
“There were many problems working with Cathedral Rock Productions. I would like to let everyone in the metal community know that he is a real con-artist and after talking to many bands and promoters that have worked with him we all agree the conclusion is he is a all around a rip-off that does not care about the bands, fans or anything else except how much money he can scam from everyone.”
John continues, “Even with the major problems and financial loss that Cathedral Rock Productions had plagued on us, we still made the best of the tour and have worked with many great people. We also want to thank all the Incantation supporters that have came out to the shows along with everyone that have helped us make the best of our problems with Cathedral Rock Productions."
INCANTATION would like all metal fans to read John's whole statement, as well as a detailed account from Tour Manager Roberto Lizarraga, on their website.
INCANTATION have no intention of letting this incident affect their loyalty to fans as they are currently preparing for the upcoming European and Mexico tours. See the tour dates below: More...
Cincinnati death/thrashers Estuary have completed work on their second album, “The Craft of Contradiction,” which is set for release April 17 on Ibex Moon Records.
“It is by far the sickest and most thrashing brutal stuff I’ve done to date,” said front gutturalist Zdenka Prado. “It kicked my ass, and I’m positive it will definitely do the same to everyone who is waiting.”
Added guitarist/mainman Ash Thomas: “We are very proud and pleased with the finished product. It’s definitely a step up in all areas, including production, song writing, and playing. We are confident ‘The Craft of Contradiction’ will not disappoint our fans or any fans of dark thrash tinged death metal.”
Lyrically, “The Craft of Contradiction” takes on a thematic approach, theorized from a “timeline” perspective of humankind’s manipulated origins to its material plight and ultimate return to truth.

June 10th-11th will mark the return of the nationally acclaimed 'Dwell in Darkness' festival that is set to bring a dark cloud over the city of Dayton, Ohio for two straight days. In a waning metal scene, SMNnews.com in conjunction with JagerMeister, and The End Records will be breathing new life back into Dayton, Ohio for a two day metal extravaganza that will feature a myriad of international, national, regional, and local bands.

Century Media's finest Canadian act, progressive-melodic-death metallers Into Eternity as well as one of Nuclear Blast Records latest signings All Shall Perish will be storming the front, part of an all out main stage Ohioan aural assault.
Also diverging away from their regular touring schedule, from the white-hot West Coast label, Prosthetic Records (Lamb of God, All that Remains, Himsa, etc.), will be one of West Virginia's most merciless and forthright acts - Byzantine. Alas, what would a true festival be without a bit of female spice? Broadzilla, who have toured the world, will also be stopping by to tear the house down.
