For the longest time Rene Rosa needed an outlet for his frustrations, consistent bad luck, and everyday problems. In 1997 he lost his job, dropped out of college since he couldn't afford it, and then hit rock bottom in a relationship. After all this happening at the same time, he locked himself in his bedroom with his guitar, bass, drums and computer and began recording songs that he had been writing since 1993. He had no band, nor did he really plan on starting one at the time. He was happy with the way the songs were coming out, but they needed vocals. Not really confident in his singing, he wanted someone else to do the vocals but came up empty. Reluctantly he recorded the vocals himself, along with every other instrument on the songs.
Out of the twenty somewhat songs he had, he uploaded a bunch of them to MP3.com and started to get many downloads, especially with the song "Godless". While shooting up in the charts in the metal section of MP3.com, "Godless" became number 1 in its genre for 3 months and got the attention of Guy Tetro, the Chief Editor of Hipnosis.com, a New Jersey Arts and Entertainment web-site and magazine. Hipnosis invited "Evil Adam" to play the first annual Hipnosis Halloween show, and Rene couldn't possibly say no even though he didn't really have a band.
Rene Rosa had a dilemma on his hands, but knew exactly where to go to solve it: his best friends and family.
That is how the first form of Evil Adam played live, and over time the line up has changed to now include Rene Rosa, Jay Curcio, Izzie Machado, and John Digrazia. The music of "Evil Adam" manages to be heavy, pumping, and hard hitting while still maintaining catchy melodies. The band has called this combination of different styles "Scrap Metal", as it combines the elements of their favorite music with their own original sound and approach. With an amazingly energetic live show, flawless performances, and catchy songs, "Evil Adam" promises to breathe new life into the world of metal and take the music world by storm.

Evil Adam has posted a new song, entitled "The Only Thing You Can Take When You Die Is Someone Else Along For The Ride," on their bandcamp page. The track comes off the band's upcoming album, "The Death of Innocence."
As with most Evil Adam recordings, the track was entirely created by singer Rene Rosa. Rene comments on the song, "A little song about a revenge killing murder/suicide. This is part of the bigger story that will unfold in the full album. Special thanks to Joe Kasyan for the title. He was joking and being a jerk, but I liked it too much not to use it."
Singer and songwriter, Rene Rosa, of New Jersey metal band Evil Adam, has posted a new self recorded demo on the band's Reverbnation page. The song, entitled "Innocence Through Guilt," will be part of a future concept album.
New Jersey based heavy metal band, Evil Adam, issues yet another studio update on his website:
"So, for those of you keeping track, last night's recording went swimingly well. Jay managed to play his ass off on 4 songs and did one song he has never ever played before within 2 takes. I owe him 50 bucks on a bet for that one (less than 3 takes gets him the gold)."
"Anyhow, I think this is going to be something special. Zack and Lucain have been producing/engineering these songs at SAE and they are doing a great job, and no matter how much hard work this has been for both Jay and myself we are still having fun with it. So now to start planning the next phase of things, guitar and vocals."
"After that, then it is all about mixing and mastering, which I'll only really be giving the yay or nay on how things come together, but I am psyched for them to be done to be able to plan the next step.... MAKING SOME GODDAMN VIDEOS, finally!" More...
New Jersey metallers, Evil Adam, issued the following update on their website yesterday:
"Jay and I are recording some more drum and bass tracks tonight, and no I don't meant the techno stuff. We're laying down the foundations for 3 songs and re-doing tracks for one song we did earlier, because, well this new setup sounds better. In the next month I have to finish up an assload of guitar and vocal tracks, so I'm very glad and thankful to Jay that he can do this for me."
"This CD/release/album or whatever you want to call it is definitely going to kick ass. Finally I'll have something that really sounds like a professional recording for Evil Adam, though I really wish I could have had more people on it, like you know, a full band! Oh well, here's to hoping that this recording may just help me put those pieces together for next year."
New Jersey metallers, Evil Adam, issue the following update on their website:
"So, for those of you who care, I do stuff. More work was done on the next Evil Adam release, and this past Saturday went very well. 3 songs were tracked on drums and bass, bringing the total up to about 9."
"So far Jay Curcio is the only person on this recording besides me, but I'm hoping to change that. I want John to do some basswork, and if one song I have in mind gets done I would want to bring in another person who was important to this song ever existing in to the mix as well, provided we can get the logistics worked out. Scheduling is a bitch!"
Frontman and song writer, Rene Rosa, of New Jersey metallers, Evil Adam, issue the following update on their Myspace page:
"Hello Evil World,"
"It's that time of year, the end of it, where I have to chime in and give you something to look back on and look forward to. As Rene Rosa had an insane year, Evil Adam had a very quiet one. Why? Well here is a list:"
"1] 2007 marked the 10th year that Evil Adam has existed in some form or another. I started Evil Adam as a solo-recording project in 1997 and eventually put the songs online in 1998, and played live for the first time as well. What does that mean? 2008 is the 10th anniversary of when Evil Adam went "public". More on that in a few." More...
Evil Adam has posted the following update on their myspace page:
It's been a while but I have added a new song to those you can listen to on the Evil Adam profile on myspace. The song is called "Touched" and was written specifically for the Ruben Rodgriguez indy horror film 'Sawaru'. I'm not sure when the film will be released but "Touched" is the opening track.
This song was recorded, mixed, and mastered in a less than 24 hour period featuring Rene Rosa on guitar, vocals, and bass, Jay Curcio on drums and background vocals, and Rob Simmons on background vocals, engineering, and production.
Since I don't know what's going to happen with the DVD release of this movie yet I'm putting this song up for listening only. Once I know more then I'll make MP3's available for download, either for a super low price, or if I find out a Soundtrack CD is going to be available for purchase I'll let you all know about that. Either way, please add this song to your myspace page if you dig it. I think it's one of the best songs to ever fall under the name of Evil Adam and just love how it came out.

The guitarist of the band Evil Adam from Jersey City, NJ, has left the band due to personal reasons. Also their bassist was also recently kicked out due to lack of communication with the rest of the band. Though there is hope for the future of the band, since the music is written by the singer Rene Rosa, live performances won't be seen til a new bassist and guitarist are found.
