Doro Covers Led Zeppelin

In honor of her 30 year stage jubilee, internationally successful rock singer Doro will celebrate with fans from all over the world with two unique shows on May 2nd: the "Classic Night" with an orchestra, and May 3rd: the "Rock Night," at CCD Stadthalle of her hometown Düsseldorf.

Just in time for the celebration, there will be an anniversary record from the rock queen.

The "Raise Your Fist – 30 Years Anniversary-Edition" contains the re-release of the "Raise Your Fist" record, as well as a bonus CD highlight entitled "Powerful Passionate Favorites." There you find new and unreleased tracks, but also Doro cover versions of Led Zeppelin, Tina Turner, Metallica, Kiss, and Dio.

To get a first impression, check out Doro's cover version of the Led Zeppelin track "Babe I’m Gonna Leave You" below.

Commented Doro Pesch: "Along with T.Rex, Led Zeppelin was among my all-time favorite bands of the 70s. They were four phenomenal musicians, who did not only come up with excellent rock songs, but also with wonderful ballads - such as 'Babe I’m Gonna Leave You,' a very emotional track and among my personal faves of the band. This is why it became the first choice for our 'Raise Your Fist - Anniversary Edition.'" More...

Led Zeppelin 2 Announces N. American Tour

LED ZEPPELIN 2, the cover band featuring bassist Chris Klein, drummer Ian Lee, guitarist Paul Kamp and vocalist Bruce Lamont, will ring in the new year with a North American tour set to kick off this Friday. The flashbacks will commence in Chicago with two dates at the House Of Blues on January 7 and 8. The band will then wind through nearly a month's worth of dates before drawing to a close on February 12 in Denver at The Gothic Theatre.

LED ZEPPELIN 2 brings you the excitement of Led Zeppelin "In Concert" by re-enacting the live improvisation and onstage interaction that earned Led Zeppelin their legendary status for performing. Rather than a "greatest hits" show, you get to experience Zeppelin as Zeppelin would have played live in front of an audience. LZ2 sold out venues across the U.S. in 2010 and have drawn rave reviews for a "spot-on" Zeppelin show, playing deep cuts and classic tracks from the entire catalog, and occasionally entire Led Zeppelin performances from specific dates.

Most widely recognized for his saxophone and vocal work fronting Chicago's Yakuza, Bruce Lamont has contributed to a plethora of other projects including Bloodiest (featuring members of 90 Day Men, Sterling), Circle of Animals (with Sanford Parker, Minsk/The High Confessions) and Sick Gazelle (with Eric Block and Sanford Parker). He's also recorded with Sigh, East West Blast Test, Minsk, Nachtmystium, Rabid Rabbit, Brutal Truth, Cephalic Carnage, Sweet Cobra, Locrian, Hex Machine and more.

Commented Lamont of the upcoming LED ZEPPELIN 2 dates: "I never thought back when we started LED ZEPPELIN 2, for fun mind you, that we would ever embark on a full U.S. tour. I am really excited to do it. It's an honor and a pleasure to sing and perform some of the greatest music ever made."

Here are the LED ZEPPELIN 2 2011 North American tour dates: More...

Led Zeppelin Is Over According To Page's Manager

Despite reports contradicting reports earlier this month, Jimmy Page's manager says that Led Zeppelin will not be touring or recording in 2009 and is, in fact, "over."

Peter Mensch, whose company Q Prime also represents Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lostprophets and Muse, had told the BBC's digital station 6Music that:

"John Paul Jones [bass] and Jimmy Page [guitar] enjoy playing with each other, Jason Bonham is a really good drummer so why not? We just need to find a singer."

However, in an interview with Music Radar this on January 7, Mensch said:

"They tried out a few singers [to replace Robert Plant], but no one worked out. That was it. The whole thing is completely over now. There are absolutely no plans for them to continue. Zero."

"Led Zeppelin are over," he added. "If you didn't see them in 2007 [at London's O2 Arena], you missed them. It's done. I can't be any clearer than that. Frankly, I wish everybody would stop talking about it."

January 12 marked the 40th anniversary of the release of Led Zeppelin's eponymous debut album.
