Apophys Posts Playthrough Video

Dutch death metal squad Apophys - which unites members of God Dethroned, Prostitute Disfigurement, Detonation and Toxocara among others - will uncork the smoldering "Prime Incursion" debut full-length in less than two weeks via Metal Blade Records.

As another "Prime Incursion" teaser, today Gear Gods is hosting the play-through video accompaniment to "The Antidote," which can be seen below. Apophys comments:

"'The Antidote' is a death metal must. The drums are fast, the riffs are fast, the vocals are fast, you get the picture. The song tells a story of humanity's ultimate cure for itself, a final solution as people start to transform into beings that are focused on nothing other than consumption. This gives it a twist one could see relevant to our current society. Eventually the urge to consume backfires resulting in humanity consuming itself and thus, providing the answer to the final problem; us." More...

Apophys Streaming "Miscreants"

Apophys' "Prime Incursion" full-length release is slated to slay the masses via Metal Blade Records next month.

Mixed by vocalist Kevin Quilligan and mastered by Stefano Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio (Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hour Of Penance etc.), the record boasts nine vicious hymns of sci-fi-tinged death metal centered on themes ranging from transcendental travel, rapid evolutionary progression, global epidemics, and artificial intelligence in all-out war with their makers.

In celebration of its release, today brutality portal No Clean Singing is hosting second cut, "Miscreants," for public broadcast. Listen in below. Comments the band of the latest single:

"'Miscreants' tells a tale about experimental creation. The song develops itself around this story. First there is the experiment, lead on by a grooving start. Then there is the realization of failure; the experiment has gone horribly wrong. The last phase is the destruction of the experiment. Lead by a furious, blast beat-ridden climax to end." More...

Apophys Signs With Metal Blade

Apophys has checked in with the following statement about signing a new record deal:

"We are extremely thrilled to announce that we have inked a deal with none other than Metal Blade Records! It's an honour to release our debut album on a label with such an outstanding reputation. We would like to thank you all for bearing with us, your on going support is invaluable. Stay tuned for more news on the album over the next few weeks!"

The new album “Prime Incursion” is due out in 2015. The band boasts members of renowned Dutch bands including God Dethroned, Prostitute Disfigurement, Detonation and Toxocara. Vocalist Kevin Quilligan comments:

"APOPHYS [ah/po/fihs] - a word derrived from Apophis, the near-Earth asteroid that caused a brief period of concern because initial observations indicated a probability that it would hit Earth on April 13, 2029. A collision of immeasurable proportions.

“The thought of our planet floating through a galactic minefield makes me think about how frail our existence really is. And where some might consider this to be a negative and demotivating thought; I used this realization to create something truly apocalyptic. A full self sufficient Death Metal machine in which I as a person am frail, but as part of this more powerful than ever. This is Apophys. We are coming.”
