Oakland, California-based extreme metallers IMPALED have posted their video for the song "Choke On It", taken from the band's 2002 album "Mondo Medicale". The clip, which was edited and directed by Raul Varela, can be viewed below.
IMPALED's fourth album, "The Last Gasp", was issued in Europe on November 5, 2007 via Candlelight and in North America on November 6, 2007 through Willowtip. The CD was made available in Mexico and Latin America by EMF Records, featuring liner notes in Spanish and a previously unreleased bonus track.
The cover artwork for "The Last Gasp" was created by the band and is about an accurate representation of their brand of medical metal as one could expect. It features scream-queen and horror auteur Shannon Lark, the woman behind the Chainsaw Mafia horror message board, the Living Dead Girlz zombie dance troupe, and the Viscera Series Film Fest. According to IMPALED bassist Ross Sewage, "Shannon was awesome to work with, mostly because she's willing to lie in a puddle of guts and vomit for upwards of an hour."
IMPALED guitarist Jason Kocol said of the art, "This cover will make you shit out your mouth and wish you were never born." More...

Daniel Dismal, the festivals founder had this to say about the line-up thus far…
“This years Murderfest has been coming together in ways that we could never imagine! The response thus far has been amazing and most of it has come without us actually announcing most of the headliners. We’re definitely excited about 4.0 and I think once the whole line-up is released people will be amazed at this years fest. Metal Maniacs' Justin M. Norton recently conducted an interview with members of IMPALED (bassist/vocalist Ross Sewage, guitarist/vocalist Sean McGrath, guitarist/vocalist Jason Kocol) about the band's latest album, "The Last Gasp", their split with Century Media, signing to Willowtip, and their affection for medical terminology. The feature can be found in the February issue. Excerpts follow:
Metal Maniacs: Tell me about the switch from Century Media to Willowtip and how it affected the new album.
Ross Sewage: We got our asses dropped. It kind of happened to a lot of Century Media bands. They were cleaning house. We never really had that good of a relationship on either side. Just the one record…
Sean McGrath: We had like a three-album contract…
Ross Sewage: And of course some kids thought that meant we could force them to put out three albums but that's not how the music industry works. We were never even supposed to be on Century Media; we were supposed to be on Olympic. So we probably would have been dropped about a year earlier had that happened.
Sean McGrath: Olympic went out of business a year after we signed the contract and a couple of bands stayed on Century Media.
Metal Maniacs: Did you actively go looking for a new label or did Willowtip come to you?
Ross Sewage: The man who had gotten us signed at Century Media and who subsequently left two weeks after we got signed recommended us to Willowtip and let them know we were in the market for a label. There was talk with some different labels but Willowtip definitely came out on top as someone who was willing to put up with us which is important. In fairness to Century Media we're not an easy band to work with…we micromanage.
Sean McGrath: We tend to do a lot of stuff ourselves which some labels don't like.
Metal Maniacs: Did Century Media not like your cover art?
Ross Sewage: They didn't like a lot of our interviews. They said we were too dry because we never laugh and have a good time.
Metal Maniacs: For better or worse you get saddled with the CARCASS comparison.
Ross Sewage: We like our medical terminology. We're attracted to that kind of expression because we were all kids when [CARCASS] came out and were like, "This is fucking cool." I like looking through books about forensics, too. We owe them a great debt of gratitude for imagery and making death metal that actually rocked a lot of time. They were tongue-in-cheek and we are tongue-sticking-right-out-of-the-mouth-making-a-raspberry.
Metal Maniacs: Are you happy with the new album?
Sean McGrath: Nope.
Ross Sewage: No, it's terrible. Awful. It's the worst thing ever recorded in history. If fans see it at a record store, steal it. Steal from the record store and then pay us what you would have spent. If you send the money to us you aren't going to Hell.
The February issue of Metal Maniacs is on sale now.

California metallers, Impaled, issue the following announcement on their Myspace page:

"This confluence of events cannot be ignored... though neither sleet, nor rain, nor snow can stop Impaled, downed power lines and flash flooding can."
"We apologize sincerely. We hope everyone stays safe and dry through this storm so we can all rock out together once we reschedule the show. Thanks."

The Oakland, California-based extreme metallers' latest record will be released in Mexico and Latin America by EMF in conjunction with the North American release from Willowtip and the European release from Candlelight.
"Esta es una mala noticia para los niños América Latinos," said bassist Ross Sewage, "porque no hay escape de nuestra masacre ahora."

Impaled have posted the following update on their myspace page:
Willowtip Records is hosting two new songs from the upcoming Impaled record, "The Last Gasp." The new record is set to hit stores in the United States on November 6th and one day earlier in Europe.
When reached for comment, guitarist/vocalist Sean McGrath had this to say: "Whuh? Oh yeah, cool. Hey, do you want to Biggie Size that?" He then added, "Fries are up!"
The two new tracks, titled "You are the Dead" and "Up the Dose," are available on the Willowtip website here and on the Impaled myspace page. According to bassist Ross Sewage, "These two brutal tracks are just a brutalistic sampling of how brutalful our latest brutastic album really is." More...
Impaled have signed a contract with Willowtip Records. Following Willowtip's recent deal for European distribution, the new Impaled record will be made available in the Old World via Candlelight Records.
After touring worldwide to support their previous album on Century Media Records, "Death After Life," Impaled have been hard at work writing and recording a follow-up record. The deal with Willowtip comes at a fortuitous juncture, just in time for the album to be released during Impaled's tenth year anniversary as a band.
"I'd like to say the new record is sicker and more brutal than the last, but I can't. Fact is, it goes beyond that. The new record is way way sickerer and way way way way way more brutaller," said bassist Ross Sewage on the subject of Impaled's latest recording.
Regarding the new deal with Willowtip Records, Sewage stated, "Impaled is looking forward to working with the Willowtip empire. We will murder our enemies, burn their crops, loot their stores, stampede their women and rape their cattle."
Jason Tipton, president and C.E.O. of Willowtip, Inc., has added, "We are honored to be working with the goretet known as Impaled and are thrilled to celebrate their 10th anniversary. We urge everyone in kingdoms worldwide not to purchase the traditional gifts of tin or aluminum for this 10th anniversary celebration, but instead to purchase the new album from Impaled, which will be in stores throughout Europe November 5th and in North America November 6th."
The new album from Impaled, entitled "The Last Gasp," will be their fourth full-length recording.

TJ Morris of Watchers Entertainment, one of the organizers of the Death In The Forest Festival, set to take place May 20 in upstate New York, has issued the following update regarding the festival's current status:
"First and foremost: Death In The Forest is still on. DITF was never off. We have been in the process of relocating, for a few reasons, which will be addressed shortly.
"Death In The Forest has been moved, less than 20 minutes, to the Catskill Mountain Ranch, located just outside of Wurtsboro, New York, in the town of Mamakating.
"The date is still the same: May 20th, 2006. The times are still the same. We will still have the same brutal bands, and still have the same great vendors. Only the location has changed.
"Catskill Mountain Ranch is literally in the middle of the woods (how perfect) and features a full-service paintball field (bring your own guns, the rentals will surely sell out) a pretty large skate park, and on-grounds camping. With the camping, you can come in the night before, have yourselves a little beer-b-que, see the greatest metal show to hit the tri-state area, and then have another bigger beer-b-que, all for less than the cost of one hotel room.
"As for the people who do have hotel rooms already booked in Middletown: CMR is less than 20 minutes away, and easily located from the middletown, new york area. We have made every attempt to relocate this event to an area within a reasonable distance to the Orange County Fair Grounds, and we feel that a 20-minute drive up the road is reasonable.
"You can Google the Catskill Mountain Ranch to call and book a spot for your tent, RV, or camper. They do have an online reservation feature, but we have been asked not to utilize this, as it is not so reliable.
"Now, as for the relocation. Let me start by saying that yes, in fact, we did feel it necessary to relocate from the OC Fair due to weather. The grounds at the OC Fair have been ill-kept, and only see action once a year for the annual fair. Our stages weigh about as much as a fully loaded semi-trailer, and anyone who knows about trucks knows that they sink in mud. That's not good for a multi-million dollar stage. Additionally, two of the stages would have located outside, so if in the event (and highly probable, in fact) that T-storms did hit the area, as forecasted, we would have had large metal structure swaying in the rain, while the equipment got soaked. not good. A decision had been made, even with the fairgrounds' approval, to relocate the stages. More...
