Tidal Arms Streaming Full New Album

With its official worldwide release now less than a week away, today Metal Injection offers up a full stream of the self-titled new full-length from Brooklyn noise rock brigade, Tidal Arms. Check out the full stream below.

Boasting ten tracks of gristly soundscapes and tranquilizing discordance, "Tidal Arms" was self-produced and mixed by guitarist/vocalist Tom Tierney and Alex Mead-Fox at the band's own Spaceman Sound in Greenpoint. It was mastered by Alan Douches (Converge, Torche, The Dillinger Escape Plan etc.) at West West Side Music.

Notes Tierney of the effort, "This record is more of everything we like about playing music together. It's heavier, spacier, more cathartic and more confusing than anything we've done before. A year of hard work went into the creation of this record, and it's the best music we've ever written. We're psyched to hit the road in 2014 and pound the pavement with these new tunes!"

Tidal Arms Streaming "Molasses"

Today, Brooklyn threesome Tidal Arms hurls forth another canticle from a forthcoming new self-titled full-length.

Titled "Molasses," the tune -- based on the Great Molasses Flood where a massive tidal wave of molasses destroyed a large area of Boston's North End in 1919 -- is currently monopolizing the airwaves courtesy of Vice/Noisey. Give the track a listen below.

All proceeds raised from the sale of the song will be used to help restore Brooklyn's Translator Audio and The South Sound rehearsal studios, which were destroyed in Hurricane Sandy last year.

Relays guitarist/vocalist Tom Tierney: "Andrew Schneider from Translator Audio has made some of our favorite records, recorded our first 7" and mixed [Tidal Arms debut] The Sun Exploding, and shares our love for the bizarre story of the Molasses Flood. His studio, Translator Audio and The South Sound rehearsal studios, were tragically destroyed in Hurricane Sandy. They're starting over, and we're releasing 'Molasses' as a fundraiser for the rebuild. Proceeds from the sale of the song go to Translator Audio and The South Sound."

Tidal Arms will unleash a vinyl edition of the self-titled record via Black Numbers on the new date of November 26th, 2013. You can also see the band live:

Tidal Arms Streaming "Mirrorbox"

As the official unveiling of Tidal Arms' self-titled sophomore release draws near, today the gatekeepers at Revolvermag.com deliver second track "Mirrorbox" to the masses. Give the track a listen below.

The album was self-produced and mixed by guitarist/vocalist Tom Tierney and Alex Mead-Fox at the band's own Spaceman Sound in Greenpoint, and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music.

Drummer Francis Mark comments: "'Mirrorbox' is all about musical reflections. It's possible that the flipped groove drum beat in the verses was inspired by the third verse of 'Just What I Needed' by the Cars, when David Robinson flips the beat. We named that part 'Mirrorbox,' then came up with the chorus guitar part. Someone joked that we should play the mirror image of the chorus riff, so of course we had to. We recorded the riff, played it back in reverse, then learned what we heard. The outro of 'Mirrorbox' is the chorus riff performed in reverse. Lyrically, the song is an abstract meditation on the end of an era, beckoning the beginning of another." More...

Tidal Arms Streaming New Track

Today Brookyn-based ethereal noise metal trio Tidal Arms hurls forth the first taste of forthcoming self-titled sophomore offering in the form of opening track, "Gooski's Ladder." Give it a listen below, courtesy of MetalSucks.net.

The album was self-produced and mixed by guitarist/vocalist Tom Tierney and Alex Mead-Fox at the band's own Spaceman Sound in Greenpoint, and mastered by renowned sound serpent Alan Douches (Converge, Torche, The Dillinger Escape Plan etc.) at West West Side Music.

Comments guitarist/vocalist Tom Tierney: "'Gooski's Ladder' is the newest song on the record -- the drum take that's on the record was the very performance in which we got the song down. I think that's why it feels so fresh and exciting, because we had that eureka moment with the mics on! 'Gooski's Ladder' is an Atheist anthem of sorts -- it's about finding peace in the existence of the universe as it is, and taking comfort in the eons of natural development and evolution that has led to the beautiful world and cosmos around us."

Catch the band live:

11/22/2013 The Acheron - Brooklyn, NY *Record Release Show* w/ Tiger Flowers, Sleep Bellum Sonno, Cavallo, Mount Gomery More...
