70000 Tons Of Metal Posts Final Lineup

The annual 70000 Tons of Metal cruise posted the final lineup of bands for the upcoming event, which kicks off Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Port of Miami in Florida. On Friday, the final six bands were revealed to be: Nightmare, Threat Signal, Anaal Nathrakh, ETECC, Steel Engraved and Fatal Smile.

AFM Records Releasing New Compilation

The AFM Records label compilation "All For Metal" now continues with part 3. This time "All For Metal III" includes 26 video clips on DVD and a bonus CD with 15 tracks. The compilation will see release on November 30th, 2012 and the track listing is:

Nightmare Reveals "The Burden Of God" Details

French heavy metal pioneers Nightmare have just updated a few details on their upcoming new studio album “The Burden Of God,” which will be released worldwide through AFM Records on May 18th, 2012.

This new opus was arranged, produced, and mixed at Peek studios in South France by French first class producer Patrick Liotard, who was also involved in the writings of two "special songs." The album has been mastered in Los Angeles (California) by Maor Appelbaum (Halford, Therion, Sepultura, Yngwie Malmsteen...).

The special guests appearing on "The Burden Of God" are Magali Luyten (Epysode, Virus 4, Beautiful Sin...) on vocals, Jonathan Ménard (Veloce Hystoria) for the orchestral arrangements and Stéphane Buriez (Loudblast) for the growls. A video message with Magali from the studio can be found here.

In addition to that, 2012 marks the arrival in the band's line-up of 21 years old new axeman, Matt Asselberghs. A short preview of Matt's performances in the studio can be seen at this location. More...

The album marks the follow up to the 2009 release "Insurrection."

Nightmare Posts Crimson Glory Cover Song Online

Nightmare has recorded a cover version of the song "Where Dragons Rule," which taken from the Crimson Glory album "Transcendence," as a tribute to vocalist Midnight. The song can be heard in the player below.

The former Crimson Glory frontman Midnight (John Patrick Jr. McDonald) passed away on Wednesday, July 8th, 2009 due to total kidney and liver failure. He was 47 years old.

Nightmare also recently started the recording process for a new full length album to be entitled "Mercury Rain" and is planning for it to be released in March 2012 via AFM Records.

Nightmare Comments On Canceled Appearance

French metal act Nightmare has issued the following statement about the band canceling the previously scheduled appearance in the Czech Republic:

"We are very sad to announce that Nightmare was forced to cancel his show planned July 24th 2010 in Borkovany / Czech Republic at the woodstock festival. Unfortunately, the promoter was unable fulfill his agreement and to pay the flights tickets to guarantee the coming of the band in CZ. We send our apologies to all the fans who were waiting for us there and we promise that we will do everything to come back to Czech Republic where we always had great support, very soon!"

Nightmare Recruits Touring Drummer

French metal act Nightmare has issued the following announcement about recruiting a touring drummer for the band's upcoming tour dates:

"Kevin Foley, drummer for French death grind masters Benighted, is on board with Nightmare for a couple of shows on the 'Insurrection Campaign World Tour - Part II.' Nightmare's permanent drummer, David Amore, is forced to miss the dates due to some personal reasons out of his control. Kevin already checked in at the Savoie Rock Fest last Saturday in Albertville, France."
