Below is our complete Merciless Terror news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Following the release of the "Vile Extinction" album back in 2013 and a period of inactivity, Merciless Terror is officially calling it quits. The band issued this announcement:
"Unfortunately after 7 and a half years, the day has come for Merciless Terror to no longer continue. The band formed in 2009 as the underdogs in the local Nottingham metal scene, with a hell of a lot of hard work, many line up changes and persistence the band managed to tear stages up world wide with some amazing bands and meet some badass people along the way! On top of that release 2 records globally.
"The new material that was originally written for album number 2 has come along nicely but the decision has been made not to use it for MT as it is a completely different approach and the relentless thrashing death machine should be left as it is in its true form of 'Vile Extinction' which spits utter fucking venom!!!
"Thank you to everyone who supported the band along the way and have gone to our shows, bought merch, drank with us and made this one hell of a journey! You will not be forgotten and we hope our music will not either." More...
U.K. outfit Merciless Terror has posted the following message online about going on hiatus:
"It has been mutually decided that Merciless Terror are on hiatus from activities including live shows and recordings with immediate effect.
"It has not been an easy decision, especially with all of the great moments in the bands career so far. However we feel that we have a great relationship with our fans so we will be upfront and honest with you as to why we have come to this decision...
“Merciless Terror has been going for nearly half a decade now. This year with no doubt has been the most eventful year. However, The last couple of months have been a struggle to keep everything together as a band and overall, In all brutal honesty the fire has burnt out as of late.
"This of course has come at an unfortunate time for our new boy Luke, which I would like to personally thank for giving 100% of his Conviction and passion into the band regardless of all the hurdles we have faced this year. And most importantly for the fun we’ve had sharing the stage with him. I know that Luke and the rest of the lads will use their hunger and passion to get where they desire to be in life and their musical career with or without Merciless terror, and of course it would not be fair on these great musicians and our fans for us to continue the band under any false pretenses for the time being.
"We would like to thank Devils Clause Records for showing faith in us, for all of the background work and for releasing 'Vile Extinction.' Also all of the promoters, reviewers, bookers, magazines and tour drivers for being nothing but help to our cause. Without a doubt our biggest thank you goes to our fans all over the world. We are truly honoured to call many of you friends as well as fans. THANK YOU. We hope that we have left you with a fantastic parting gift in 'Vile Extinction.'
"This is by no means 'The End.' This is just a well needed break for the band until further notice.
Keep checking back for updates on our Facebook page for new projects involving members of Merciless Terror." More...
UK-based thrashers Merciless Terror will release their full-length debut, "Vile Extinction," on October 7th via Devil's Clause Records. Formed in 2009, Merciless Devastation first hit the scene in 2011 with the critically acclaimed debut E.P "Perpetual Devastation" - which was mastered by James Murphy. Check out the track "Shattered Existence" following the album cover art and tour dates if not acquainted with the band.
The upcoming debut album comes on the heels of last year's self-released EP, "Eternal Decay," and sees the band overcome a series of obstacles in the form of lineup changes. Earlier this year, Michael Brush (ex-Hellbastard) stepped in to take over drum duties and original guitarist David Siddons took his leave and was recently replaced by shredder Luke Tasker. Frontman Dale Linsdell commented, "'It has been tough this past year, with new line up changes/touring and recording the album itself, we are glad to finally unleash it upon the world. This will be 11 tracks of pure terror."
"Vile Extinction" was recorded at Stuck on a Name Studios by co-producer Ian Boult and was mixed and mastered by Neil Williams at Abysmal Audio. The album artwork was handled by legendary artist Jon Zig and the bands logo was revamped by local artist Gary Ronaldson of Bite Radius Designs.
