Finnish melodic black metal act CATAMENIA has cancelled its previously announced U.S. tour which was scheduled to take place in November/December.
Commented the band's manager Tunci of Cebidelik Management And Booking Agency: "It is the hardest time after a long work and long discussions. And I am really sad to inform that we have recently had to cancel our USA tour after we spent months on it. The band and I, myself, are really disappointed now, since it is more than a dream to come true for both of us.
"What we have been trying is to make the best for CATAMENIA fans. The tour was totally not financial one and what we wanted to make a long tour and visit every single town for the fans. But as I said, I have failed to make it happen." More...
Guitarist Riku Hopeakoski of the Finnish melodic black metal act CATAMENIA has revealed to Metalhead.ro that he is currently working on material for the band's new album. The group is tentatively scheduled to enter Mastervox studio in Helsinki early next year to begin recording the effort for a late 2008 release.
CATAMENIA recently announced the addition of drummer Mikko Nevanlahti to the group's ranks. The band will team up with Belgium's ANCIENT RITES for a North American tour between November 23 and December 22.
CATAMENIA recently uploaded the "Cataventures Part III" video clip, the most recent in a series of clip chronicling the band's adventures touring through Europe. You can check out all three parts on the group's official web site.
CATAMENIA's latest album, "Location: COLD", was released last August via Massacre Records. The CD was recorded, mixed and mastered at Mastervox Studios by Kakke Vähäkuopus and Immu Ilmarinen. The cover artwork was created by Anthony Clarkson.

Finnish Melodic Black Metal band Catamenia are releasing a DVD entitled "Bringing The Cold To Poland", produced by Metal Mind Productions. The DVD will be released somewhere in November 2006 in Europe and Worldwide early 2007.
Finnish black metallers CATAMENIA have posted the following message on their official web site:
"To prevent the annoying speculations of how things went in European tour and why Tero [Nevala, keyboards] is not anymore in the band, we decided to make an official statement regarding the situation.
"When finishing the Russian tour, Tero informed at the train station of St. Petersburg he won't continue to the European tour with us, but he'll go back to Moscow. We do not know the exact reason for this, but we have seen how things turned out — he simply followed our Russian promoter there. Thank you for these years and good luck in the future, Tero. More...

We have some bad news regarding our new album. The release is postponed with two weeks, so the release date is now set on 8th of September. We are really sorry for the inconvenience! BUT...also some good news. We will play in Warsaw, Poland in few weeks with Obituary, Grave and Sinister, and at the same time they will record a full DVD of Catamenia's gig with some extra material on it. The release of this DVD will be around next November and the distribution is going to be worldwide."
Catamenia have confirmed their studio time for the next release. The studio will take place from November 1 to December 10, so the sixth release can be waited to be on stores in early of 2005. Estimated time for release is February / March '05.
