Croatian groove metal outfit Cold Snap pays homage to Nancy Sinatra with a cover version of "These Boots are Made for Walkin."
The song (originally written by Lee Hazlewood) was produced by the iconic Danish metal producer, Tue Madsen (Suicide Silence, The Haunted, Sick of it All, Mnemic, Dir En Grey) at Antfarm Studios, Denmark.
When Cold Snap was invited to perform at Wacken Open Air in 2012, the band rehearsed this song for a live set at the infamous metal festival, and also recorded it for future release.
“We wanted to do something special for the festival’s twenty-fifth anniversary that year” states vocalist Jan Kerekes. “So we performed the song at the end of our set, however we sung it as These Boots Are Made for Wacken. Since the song wasn’t written by us, we weren’t sure how to go about getting the clearance to release it, so it sat on a shelf for the past couple of years, unreleased.”
Bassist Zoran Ernoic continues “One day we had a meeting with our A&R guy at Eclipse Records and we played the unreleased song, and he immediately wanted to release it. They were able to get the necessary license in place, and now, after four years, we’re thrilled to release our version of this song for everyone to enjoy.” More...
Cold Snap is mad as hell about child predators - the band's intent is that this video below for "Monster" will get people talking about this problem, and give someone the courage to step forward and speak out. The video was directed by Tin Majnaric at Alfa Film Studios in Zagreb, Croatia.
“In this video there is a lot of metaphors and symbolism” states vocalist Jan Kerekes. “The video is deliberately uncomfortable to watch. That’s the point, because it’s important to see the horror of what happened. Our intent is that this video will get people talking about this problem, and give someone the courage to step forward and speak out. If this video saves just one child, then we will be proud of what we’ve done here.” More...
The third studio album by Croatian groove metal band Cold Snap is out today. "World War 3" contains 12 intense tracks which were produced by the iconic Danish metal producer Tue Madsen (Suicide Silence, The Haunted, Sick of it All, Mnemic, Dir En Grey) at Antfarm Studios, Denmark.

Cold Snap has partnered with Bloody-Disgusting.com to release a new music video for the song "Silent Killer" (also available below).
The song comes off third studio album "World War 3," slated for release on January 13th. In this video, the members of Cold Snap are held captive like rats by a mad scientist in his laboratory. He tries to poison them, however… the band fight back with music!
“From my point of view, a silent killer lives inside every one of us as our conscience. With most people, whenever they do something bad their conscience will haunt them until they manage to straighten things up” says bass guitarist Zoran ‘Zoki’ Ernoic. “Some people however, simply do not have a conscience, and therefore karma always must step in and get them in the end.”
The video was directed by Tin Majnaric of MMstudio23, and filmed in the band’s hometown of Varazdin, Croatia. Vocalist Jan Kerekes continues, “We also had a small problem with the cockroaches, they are fast little critters and they don`t give a hoot about being on camera. They kept escaping and hiding from us!” More...
Eclipse Records is thrilled to announce the signing of Cold Snap from Varazdin, Croatia for a worldwide deal. Eclipse comments:
"The band brings a crushing mix of metal with an impressive history, having consistently toured Europe for the past several years, and performing at the legendary Wacken Open Air Festival.
"Cold Snap recently recorded their third LP 'World War 3,' an album jam packed with 12 intense tracks that was produced by the iconic Norwegian metal producer, Tue Madsen. Overall, 'World War 3' is as chaotic as the war the title alludes to. At any given second, something can and will be thrown at the listeners, and chances are, they won’t have an answer for it. This causes the audience to never grow tired of what Cold Snap has to offer.
"Each track comes packed with energy and adrenaline, all wrapped up in an overall sense of cohesion that can only be found among a group that are not only band mates, but brothers, much like the soldiers that fight the World War Cold Snap presents to its audiences."
“After 12 years, we can finally say that Cold Snap arrived in the right hands”, says lead vocalist Jan Kerekes about signing with Eclipse. “through Eclipse Records we believe that our music will find its listeners and turn them into fans.”
Cold Snap will release "World War 3" through Eclipse Records on January 13th, 2015. The band also just released a new music video for the song "Rise Again," which consists of live footage shot during a recent Summer 2014 tour. More...
